It's worth your time to honestly check them out and just see if you like them. I know once everything becomes more normal in the world; I'll be letting my daughter dance.

They have a sign on the wall when you walk in that lets them know which shoes to put on first. They even have a dressing room for them to change in. We have time to get dressed before getting there but Wren will not have that! she has to get changed in their dressing room. Everything about this place is very inviting and Wren has really blossomed while here. Parents are not allowed in the room while the class is in process. There is a glass on the door so we can see, we just can't go in. The kids tend to do better when no parents are in there. We were allowed in one time so far so see the progress they had made on their routine. Waiting for her class isnt so bad either, they offer free wifi so the older heathen is ok with waiting around for his little sister. They even have a play corner with a ton of toys, so the baby heathen is pretty entertained too.

I wish I could give more stars. My daughter has danced at Jill's studio for 9 years now, since she…read morewas 3 years old. Not only has she loved every minute of it and begged for more, but so have I. She has had perfect attendance nearly every year because she simply can not conceive of missing a single class. Ms. Jill is her primary teacher and has done an amazing job of instilling her love and passion for dance in my daughter. I don't think my child would have fallen as deeply in love with dance had we gone anywhere else. The atmosphere is warm and caring, where our children are taught with love. The teachers all have a deep love for what they do and it shows in how they teach our children. I couldn't ask for a better place to spend so much of our time. If you are looking for a friendly studio where your child will be built up not only as a graceful dancer but as a lady then this is the place for you. The girls in my daughters class have formed deep and lasting friendships over the years because they work as a team and have respect for one another and build each other up, sharing in one another's happiness. My daughter works hard and dances her heart out each week and keeps coming back because this is her second home. She never wants to leave, and that lets me know without a doubt that I made the right decision entrusting Ms. Jill and her staff with my daughter.

Don't lose heart, parents, this journey requires you to let go and let the teachers do their job. The dynamic of the class varies, but the teachers are consistent. Observe the more advanced classes, the dancers probably grew up and looked just as confused as your 3yo does. But they will get it, and they will be better for having been a cookie joe dancer.

My initial impression was good because they have a lot of good morals and they are actually teaching the little girls good technique. However, after a few months, I started to notice that there was a lot of distraction happening, especially in the little girls class. The instructors focus was to try and convince even younger little girls maybe two years old and younger to try and come in to take the class. The instructors attention to the girls sitting on the floor with their parents Was more than 50% of the class this really distracted my child. I had my in-laws and my husband also take my daughter when I could not and they did not have any nice things to say about the class. They mentioned that expectation was way too strict for little girls And my husband did not like the atmosphere that was set by the owners-- he said that they were not friendly toward him at all as a first time parent parent taking his child. As a dancer, myself with a degree, I also understand that temperature is important in the studio, but in the summer months it was way too hot almost 80°. I don't think this is an appropriate temperature. I don't think they carry themselves in a nurturing and comforting way. We have found the climate to be very militant as opposed to relational. They are diplomatic and do nice things for the community, but not enough to keep us here. We will not return to take class.

Her compassion, dedication, making it fun, and not stressful for the kids exceeds tremendously compared to last school we went to. Ava wanted to try ballet again because she loves to dance and when she found out her two classmates go she made it possible for me to put them together because of her previous experience. IF you ever meet MS. BRIA she is an angel sent; her grace, her smile, her patience without getting frustrated shows how much of an exceptional ballet teacher she is. The highlight of the summer was having the opportunity to learn from and dance with Lauren Anderson! I ended up taking dance at UH for the fall semester, so unfortunately I have not been back to dance here. The owner and founder, Sherese Campbell, taught the ballet class we were in. She's inspiring and really makes you want to dance better. The students are awesome, some of them are City Dance Company dancers and they are just as inspiring. Our summer intensive class ranged from teenagers to adults in their 30's-40's. The summer intensive classes are cool because you do (for example) ballet one week and hip-hop another week (for the first 1.5 hours) and then like yoga or tap for the second 1.5 hours. Intensive classes are usually from 9 AM - 3 PM, but I only went from 9 AM - noon and it was $150/week vs. $250/week. Currently don't have time/money to take intensive classes again, but would love to go back soon. It's pretty convenient if you live near Rice/ West U. If you are unsure about anything or have reservations, Sherese is always willing to help and encourage you!
