We haven't been to the movies in a theater in years. It was a pleasant surprise and a pleasure to see many positive upgrades to the old Connecticut post 14 movie theater. The seats were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, the staff had a positive friendly attitude and the snack bar was well stocked. The only negative feature were that the escalators weren't working and a number of people had difficulty navigating the quantity of steps to get to the theater. Elvis, the movie was stupendous. The photography was breathtaking, the music was amazing, the acting was awe-inspiring, the story was spectacular and overall Elvis the movie was very impressive. The cast is to be commended as it was evident that a huge amount of effort went into transporting you back in time. It would be most appreciated if the theater would make an effort to bring back more movies like this one. Out of 14 theaters, at least one could be for people who enjoy a story that doesn't include violence, profanity, deafening sound effects or a bizarre story line. read more

This is an excellent cinema in an otherwise mediocre mall. My dad and I came here a few years ago to see Into the Spiderverse, and I had one of the best movie experiences of my entire life. The seats are super comfortable, the popcorn is really good, and the ticket prices were relatively affordable given the quality I was getting. First time coming here and I liked the movie theater. Just remember to park at lot 9 by the entrance/ exit. Came here to watch Shangchi and I liked both where I watched it and the movie. It isn't as expensive as NYC ticket admission prices. They have Imax, 3D, or Regular screening and we chose the regular one due to the reclining seats. The reason why I gave it four stars was due to the restrooms being unclean. It needs to be tended to. read more

This place has been my only option for Indian regional movies and I drive from Norwalk to Milford to go here. Although located in mall, they have a parking right next to the theatre to avoid the whole walk through the mall. You can also stroll through the mall if you had time before your movie. I like the cinemark subscription and rewards program which helps you save good money with pricey regional movie fares. However, it only worth it if you're somebody who atleast watches 1-2 movies in the theatre a month. The revised prices on the popcorn and drinks are a add on and you get a good discount for members overall. The ambience of the place is fine and will be my go to movie place for the near future. read more

I've only been here a few times but I didn't love it. The whole set up is not to my liking. The place is absolutely huge. Some people may like that but I found it off putting. Sure they show lots of movies but most times, I have found the selection to be very commercial stuff that catered to a younger crowd. Were I still in my teens I'd probably like it more then I do now. You can actually get lost in here. It's one of the largest movie theatres I've ever been to but being partial to smaller cozier places, it did nothing for me. They do have 3D movies though so they can be fun to watch on the gigantic screen. It's really not my kind of place though. read more

RENOVATION REVIEW Can't say enough how nice the theater is now that they've renovated quite a bit of it. Right from when you walk in the new carpet smell will get you excited. The reason for a missing star is their snacks / amenities selection. It just doesn't measure up to North Haven with the selection. I realize its all the same because of the same parent company but the selection just seems so much more limited here. I miss them having the Ben and Jerry's Ice cream section and Nathan's inside the theater. I know theaters make their money off the snacks, but they have got to work on the prices. Its just true. Or up the quality. Its very clear that the prices are going up and the sizes of cups and bags / bucket are going down. A double whammy. Not good. However, the renovations here are fantastic. The incline goes higher because of the room they have over North Haven and the seats are fantastic. Yes, they are single riders, but for a chunky man such as myself, I still had room on the sides. They were super comfy and while the love seats in North Haven are great, I like that now I can sit in my own seat without having to put the arm rest down to make the seat my own from a stranger... Or my wife. The trays for food would be better if the food selection / prices were better, and with the seat reclined, kinda pointless as once my legs are up the tray table doesn't come over as far. Only good when you sit upright, and let's be honest, who's gonna be doing that? Either way, there's still a TON of seats in each theater room so that'll help with the reservations and times when new hot movies come out. I won't have to rush out of work to get a decent seat if a showtime works better for me here than North Haven. All in all, atmosphere and comfort are top notch here and they need to be to survive dying theaters and malls. But if they don't do something about snack selection / prices it'll all be for nothing. But still, its definitely got a fighting chance against North Haven now! read more

On the hottest day of the year so far the a/c was middling and no one sat in their reserved seats so I had to find an alternate in an area I did not want to sit in. If you're upcharging for reserved luxury seating then enforce it. Also why am I seeing ads during the movie??? Trailers are one thing but cinemark supposedly cares about the cinematic experience - seeing any commercials between trailers is not making me want to come back to this chain. read more

this place wouldn't let me and my friend see five nights at freddy movie. Bobby, was very rude and I was on the urge of cussing him out. If they don't let me in next time, I will call my parents to get him fired. Bobby assumed my age and wouldn't let me go see the movie even though it is a PG-13 movie and I am 15 years old, which is above the age. But this needs to be known: Bob the bartender at the in-house Crave Bar & Grill is one of Milton's finest mixologists. She spoke of his ethanol expertise as though he were the Boston behind Mr. Boston - classic, composed and clean. "At a movie theater?" I'd ask, disbelievingly. His Old Fashioned confirmed. This is a MOVIE THEATER BAR that offered one of the most balanced whiskey cocktails I'd tasted in my recent CTour de Force. No Luxardo cherries, no mists or infusions - he just knew what he was doing. And if you like to sound ridiculous ordering, his chocolate martini had a proper sweetness, thus proving well worth the shame. You may think I'm nuts, but give it a try next time your car breaks down in Milton. He's the only reason we went. read more

The new reclining seats are excellent. Extremely comfortable with unobstructed viewing. The system with reserved seating needs to be reworked. It's not a problem if the theatre isn't crowded but I've seen and experienced misunderstandings about whose seat was theirs. So far, everyone has been polite about it but that is not always going to be the case. Do NOT discard your ticket stub. read more

What an awesome movie theater!!! I grew up with Bow Tie cinemas, which aren't bad, but this movie theater really takes it up a notch. The food selection is much more expansive than your typical movie theater and there's even a bar for those 21 and over. As far as the theaters go, they're very clean with stadium seating so you don't have to worry about a tall person or someone with big hair blocking your view. It's been a while since I checked out a 3D movie, but I remember seeing the last Harry Potter and the theater was pretty big. As with all movie theaters these days, the concession prices are pretty exorbitant. Eat or drink before you go in. It seems like most theaters are doing this now, but in case you're unaware, TUESDAYS ARE DISCOUNT NIGHTS! Tickets are $5.50 a piece, which means you should get there a bit early. I buy my tickets online, which I recommend, but still get there a bit early to get good seats. I recommend shows after 8 because anything between 5-7 is packed with high schoolers. read more

One of my fav movie theaters in CT, and no wonder why, the location is genus and the amenities are superb. Situated on the upper level of the Milford Mall, the theater provides the perfect end to a day of shopping, or a distraction for the significant other and/or kids while you get your consumer on. The concession is what really gets me. They have the usual crap I hate buying, over-priced popcorn, nachos, and candy. But these guys seem to understand folks like me, and have found more convincing ways to make me part with my $7, they have Starbucks, Sabarro, and Nathan's right inside the theater. Spacious, reclining seats, with adjustable armrest, in the event that you want to eliminate the barrier between you and your boo *wink wink* Epic sound and picture, in a clean, family-friendly theater. Came here for the IMAX theater. This seems to be the only IMAX theater if you live in New Haven. It's pretty good.

Pretty average movie theater. The seats are comfortable and stadium style so you don't have an issue with visibility. Standard theater prices for popcorn, soda, water, etc - a popcorn and water usually runs me about $11. You don't get to butter your own popcorn which is a bummer. Matinee prices are good and usually run into the early afternoon. As people noted, Tuesday is $5 movie night which is a good deal but the crowds are crazy. I also really like the classic movie screenings that they run periodically. There is a bar in the facility but I don't think it opens before 5PM which is a huge drag because most of the movies I see are in the morning or early afternoon. When I can't get a martini before the new Bond movie though, it gets me irritated. read more

The good: The theater itself is definitely the best in the area. The screens/sound/rooms are great. The IMAX is the best in the region (far superior to Port Chester, Danbury, and White Plains). The Tuesday half price tickets deal is great. The bad: The main negative is the behavior of the patrons in theaters. This usually isn't a big deal in the IMAX showings. I suppose if you're willing to pay the premium, you'll probably shut up during the movie. But otherwise, I've experienced some of the most rude moviegoers ever here. Talking at full volume, using their phones, loud jewelry, kicking seats. This has been consistent during multiple showings. Absolutely obnoxious. I've seen/heard this same complaint from multiple people, and I feel like the theater should be more proactive about it. We did report one especially obnoxious woman who brought her 4 loud children to a hard-R, violent movie. They did their part and removed her. My suggestion to the theater would be to have staff in some of the more crowded showings. Certainly the near-minimum-wage it would cost to enforce quiet in the theater would easily be offset by today's high ticket prices. Also, why do theaters like this allow screaming infants into movies? And toddlers and small children into R-rated movies? I've never seen it more than in this theater. It just ruins the experience for everyone, and I think there's a lack of morality letting a gaggle of 7 year olds in to see Seven Psychopaths, parent/guardian or not. 3d properly bright! Many theaters make the mistake of not projecting the 3D brightly enough, (it must be slightly brighter so that when the glasses go on it cuts the light to normal level.) the projectionist last night really knew what they were doing and we had an amazing 3D experience. I came here after a very dark, barely viewable experience at their North Haven branch. What a huge difference. I feel so bad for people who didn't get to see Star Wars properly. This is one of the best movie theaters I have ever been to. The parking garage made it very easy to park. The food court for the mall is located right next to the theater, so sitting and eating before the movie was nice. The entire place was clean and very inviting. I was suprised to find a starbucks and a ben and jerrys!!!!! I had a great time, and even saw a sign for $5 on Tuesdays! Cant wait to go again. read more

Overall, it is an exceptional theater. With 14 screens, they always have the hot new movies showing, plus they have a corner on the market in the area because I believe it is currently the only theater in Milford/Orange/West Haven. The location in the mall means it is close to the highway and you can enter right near the theater if you don't want to traipse through the shopping area to get to it. It's a fairly new theater, so everything is up to date and clean. Prices...I shouldn't even go there. It's a movie theater, so the prices for everything are astronomical. I wouldn't even buy anything from the concession stand if it weren't for my boyfriend who likes to have popcorn as part of the full experience. Just be forewarned: a bottle of water is $5! Ridiculous really, but my impression is that all theaters cash in on snack sales. We saw a movie in IMAX 3D and tickets were $16.50 each for a night time showing. They do have reduced matinee rates, though I am unsure of what they charge because we didn't research that. It was expensive, but was it worth it? Yes. We saw the re-release of Titanic, and even though we'd seen it before, we were still talking about it a few days later. I was pleased with my theater experience, albeit expensive. read more

Movies and popcorn always go together.... this theater has only one popcorn station with two machines. Both not working.... We were there for a 350pm movie and the manager said the machine broke down in the morning. You would think a movie theater in a popular mall would have a back up or alone patrons to get popcorn or snacks somewhere else . But no.... the not too friendly person at the ticket gate didn't even apologize - just said "no." read more

I think this is the best movie theater in the area, their IMAX is fantastic and it's worth the roughly half-hour drive for me to get here as it's a much better theater than Waterbury mall. I saw RoboCop in IMAX there and really enjoyed it. The picture quality and sound was outstanding. Discount Tuesdays offer $5 for regular movies all day, but it's popular and can sell out, so get there early. During discount Tuesdays, the price for IMAX 3D movie drops to $10 from $16.50. I went here last night to see 300: Rise of an Empire in IMAX 3D and while the movie was a letdown, the service by the staff was not. There was a point in the movie where the 3D went out for a couple minutes, it was in the middle of a battle and I was a little upset as I was taken out of the experience. At the end of the movie, they had a member of staff on hand to give out cards for a free movie as an apology. No having to complain or track somebody down, they saw they had an issue and they tackled it quite well. Really impressed by that and I'll be going back to see Noah with my free ticket. Thanks for that! Update: I saw Interstellar in IMAX here for $9.75 on bargain Tuesday. Lots of ads before the previews but the message about no texting wasn't followed up on. Some idiots were using their phones and even had their phone buzzing during a quiet scene. No staff came through to check. If your phone isn't on airplane mode, leave it in the car. read more

I absolutely love this theatre. Since its opening about 6 years ago, it's been my first choice for going out to the movies. They have an IMAX- which is awesome. There's a bar inside the theatre- which is interesting. They show old movies once or twice a month- which is really REALLY cool. Like next month they're showing pulp fiction for three days and fight club later in the month for three days. That's pretty damn awesome. Convenient, clean, easy and dirt cheap! Located in the mall, which is right off the highway, this place is pretty convenient. Being that its located in a mall, you have to expect crowds but they have their own level in the parking garage and that makes for super easy access. Its modern with stadium seating (yes I know a few theaters that haven't made that upgrade), numerous self serve kiosks both inside the lobby and just outside the lobby. What made this place a must visit two days in a row while I was home in Ct for break----the $5.50 matinee price! In DC there is no such thing as matinee price. Moreover, all the movies start at $13.00. So I was more than happy to see two movies for the price of what I'd normally pay for one. read more

This movie theater is attached to a mall, so while it makes it very convenient to go from shopping or dining to a movie, it also means there will be significant foot traffic. Still, it's a great place to catch a movie; with 14 screens, you have a large selection of movies at your disposal.. Ticket prices are very reasonable, stadium seating so your view won't be blocked by the tall people in front of you.. It's located on the very top floor of the mall, so expect a bit of a hike to get there... They also have discounted tickets on Tuesdays, where you can see most movies for $5, and $9 for IMAX, which is a great deal. read more

As far as movie theaters go this is a pretty good one. They have an IMAX showing which is awesome since the closest one near me is over an hour away so when this opened I was stoked. Being that it's in the mall and Milford's mall crowd is getting rowdier and rowdier these days there's always some loud punks in the later evening showings because they either don't have their licenses yet or their mommy didn't teach them to shut the hell up when watching a movie. I'm not one to complain of go bother management but I'm sure that would make this easier on me if I did. They only have one IMAX screen which is understandable in a smaller city given the cost. That being said having another IMAX screen would be amazing as the limited showings often cause some weirder movie times and the perfect post dinner date 9 or 930pm showing is few and far between in IMAX so you often have a 7ish showing or after 10 which is tough to do on a Friday after a long work week (wow I sound old don't I). A pretty good place to see a movie. The theaters are great: they include stadium seating and all of the screens are pretty new (the entire place is relatively new), so it has a pretty clean vibe. The only negatives are the prices (going to the movies anywhere nowadays is very expensive though) They do have special deals on Tuesdays, where it is only $5.00, but unfortunately these showings are so crowded they are not really even enjoyable. Another negative about going to the movies are the other moviegoers, who tend to be loud and rude. However, like before mentioned, this can be true of anywhere you go. Very unsafe. Yesterday my wife and I tried to watch a movie while a couple of ladies were talking. I politely asked them to stop but received excessive profanity in return. When I asked the manager Mr. Stacy to step in, while he was taking to one of the ladies, second one slapped my wife in front of his assistant. Both assistant and Mr. Stacy refused to call the police (I insisted several times as I didn't bring my phone) and assistant claimed he didn't see anything even as he was standing few feet away and was looking right at as. I kept demanding police to be called but all Mr. Stacy and his assistant did was point at the cashier to get a refund with smirks on their faces. If you care about safety of your loved once this theater is not for you. read more
