My boyfriend and I visited the Prospector Theater to see the second Doctor Strange movie on Saturday night. This was our first visit to the theater, and we were truly blown away by so many things. First, we absolutely loved the theater's mission to create jobs for mentally disabled adults. The staff was so clearly passionate about their jobs, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. We loved that they had a cafe in addition to normal concessions, and I was not expecting them to serve alcohol! Don't even get me started on their amazing Prospector Popcorn!! They have a great variety of flavors that are all so delicious. Truly some of the best gourmet popcorn I've had, which I plan on ordering online if I don't make it back to the theater soon! Lastly, the theaters themselves were so clean and modern, and I was so comfortable throughout the movie. I will definitely make the drive again to Prospector Theater after such a fantastic experience! read more

This is the only place my family will go to see a film these days. We feel completely comfortable, safe, and secure as the Prospects keep the theater immaculate. Social distancing at ones seating area is strictly enforced, and you can relax with your adult beverages (or coffee, tea, gourmet popcorn, slushees, candy, etc). What a treat in these times to see a first run film on a giant screen and let the outside world melt away for a couple of hours. And to top it all off, you can feel good knowing you're helping support the prospectors mission of providing meaningful employment to adults with disabilities! By far the most beautiful theatre I have been in. It's good hearted, welcoming, clean and cheerful. We saw Little Women at exactly the time it opened everywhere. There are a total of four films playing each day so there's something for everybody. When I went Jumanji, Star Wars, Little Women and Spies in Disguise were playing. There's a great concession stand. It has started showing new movies again (after several weeks of "throwbacks" where I loved seeing Grand Budapest Hotel on the big screen) and last night I saw "The Personal History of David Copperfield" on it's opening night. The theater is incredibly clean, the Prospects are devoted to their theater and their mission and I felt very safe. No sticky floors here! What a wonderful place to see a movie! On a whim my boyfriend and I decided to try the Prospector instead of AMC. We are so glad we did, and may never see a movie anywhere else. Clean? Oh my gosh, was it! The place smells brand new still. Beautiful? Yes, and tasteful, and funky, and eclectic. Comfortable? Absolutely! We were disappointed to see we had arrived too late to take advantage of the recliners up front, which we knew nothing about. But the stadium seats were comfy just the same. Next time we will arrive earlier and try out those recliners! Convenient? Yep! Closer to home for us than The theater in Danbury, AND they had someone selling refreshments RIGHT IN THE THEATER! But wait, there's more. For instance, there is a little piano bar upstairs. I think I saw a little place to grab a beer (not sure you can take it into the theater). There is even a little stadium seating area in the lobby with cushions and an enormous TV. We saw a family just hanging out watching football. And the staff, well, the staff just make the whole thing even better. Congratulations to this place for its inclusionary vision. We love it! Can't wait to go back to the Prospector! read more

My absolute favorite movie theater, hands down. While I no longer live close by, I always make sure to come here while I'm visiting my family. Everyone here rules, I've had some rad pre-movie convos (bonus of seeing a movie in the middle of a week day!). Hands down the best movie theater I have ever been to. The facility is brand new, modern, clean, spacious, and fun. (Think old school pac-man arcade game in the lobby fun) The location is perfect with ample parking and right off the main drag in town. Let's also not forget they have a restaurant, with a full bar, and you are allowed to bring your food/drinks into the movie. As good as the facility is, the staff are really what make this place shine. They are all friendly, knowledgeable, and sincere. A spectacular experience!!! I sincerely hope, and will do what I can, to spread this courageous, ingenious, humbling, and above all, wonderfully enjoyable movie going experience throughout the civilized world! Living in this over-regulated society, I was pleasantly caught off guard when not only was I allowed, but encouraged, to not rush but bring my delicious Kobe Burger and iced cold Alagash White into the theatre to enjoy with the movie. The spotless amphitheater and roomy 'wide-armed' chair was super comfortable and perfect for dining and munching! But all this 'Wonderful' pale, I mean it's absolutely squashed, by the absolute pride and joy and hope, one sees and hears and feel from the Prospects! I was almost moved to tears when our Prospect explained that another Prospect donated her Special Olympic medals from EIGHTEEN years of winnings to the mural on the second floor. So, if you're going to see a movie, grab a bite with your family or on a date night, why not do yourself, your community, the Prospects a favor and come to The Prospector Theater!!! Bravo! read more

I was visiting Ridgefield, CT for a reunion of high school friends. At the last minute we noticed a movie we all wanted to see was playing at the Prospector Theater, a preview of Downton Abbey. We were all so excited since it was playing long before it was to show nation wide. Anyway, when we got there and saw what the theater was all about, that just made the entire experience so much more than just seeing a film. The employees were handicapped in one way or another. They work at the coffee shop, take tickets, sell concessions and even make carmel corn and package it. The theater we were in was small and cozy. I highly recommend seeing a movie there or book a party or event there. If I could have given it 6 stars, I would have. read more
