Magical place, not just the movie theater
    Hello R.

The Prospector Theater in Ridgefield, Connecticut, stands out as a unique and impactful establishment, not just for showing the latest films but for its profound commitment to employing individuals with disabilities.

Great local small theater that has a great mission of assisting and employing individuals with special needs. The theater is clean, staff is friendly and modern. Comfy stadium tiered seating and some seats with recline and footrests. Plenty of parking and yummy snacks. They have 4 theaters for multiple movie options. If you have not visited, try it out.

My boyfriend and I visited the Prospector Theater to see the second Doctor Strange movie on Saturday night. This was our first visit to the theater, and we were truly blown away by so many things. First, we absolutely loved the theater's mission to create jobs for mentally disabled adults. The staff was so clearly passionate about their jobs, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door. We loved that they had a cafe in addition to normal concessions, and I was not expecting them to serve alcohol! Don't even get me started on their amazing Prospector Popcorn!! They have a great variety of flavors that are all so delicious. Truly some of the best gourmet popcorn I've had, which I plan on ordering online if I don't make it back to the theater soon! Lastly, the theaters themselves were so clean and modern, and I was so comfortable throughout the movie. I will definitely make the drive again to Prospector Theater after such a fantastic experience!

This theater is the best around! It's so much cleaner than the cruddy AMC theater in Danbury. The atmosphere is great and their popcorn selection is so good that you'll wanna take some home with you. They have a nice café and mini bar too if you're into that sort of thing. The staff is extremely professional and helpful as well. I recommend this theater with my whole heart!

When you're in the lobby, either look up or go upstairs. Just beautiful!!

I cannot say enough about this place...it's beautiful, clean, plays first-run movies, kid and adult-friendly refreshments, and best of all...they hire adults with disabilities to run the place. It is a simply fabulous building with an amazing mission. YOU MUST GO THERE!!

    Masked, safe, treats in hand!

This is the only place my family will go to see a film these days. We feel completely comfortable, safe, and secure as the Prospects keep the theater immaculate. Social distancing at ones seating area is strictly enforced, and you can relax with your adult beverages (or coffee, tea, gourmet popcorn, slushees, candy, etc). What a treat in these times to see a first run film on a giant screen and let the outside world melt away for a couple of hours. And to top it all off, you can feel good knowing you're helping support the prospectors mission of providing meaningful employment to adults with disabilities! Can't think of anything more satisfying!

By far the most beautiful theatre I have been in. It's good hearted, welcoming, clean and cheerful. We saw Little Women at exactly the time it opened everywhere. There are a total of four films playing each day so there's something for everybody. When I went Jumanji, Star Wars, Little Women and Spies in Disguise were playing. There's a great concession stand. I love this theater! I am so proud of this town! Wow!

I'm not complaining! Loved the large extended leather chairs, great sound and truly what seemed like a private showing -- I mean we're talking 'small,' as in 'tiny!' Pretty cool! The only negative was the fact people (adults) sat on the one side and let their kids go ape $#*! on the other side! Remember, this is a SMALL venue. It reminded me of what I hate about a similar cinema in Pleasantville -- a lot of privileged people on their phones, feet on the chairs, talking... but I digress! Anyway, I can't wait to go back and see something else, and hopefully in the same theater. If I see kids again, I'm getting my money back! I really want to know if the other theaters are the same size or larger. Assuming larger! Oh, parking was brutal -- almost non-existent!

I love the Bedford Playhouse! This is my "go-to" movie theater in the Bedford area. The theater's…read morecommitment to maintaining a pristine environment shines through in many details, from the lobby to the auditoriums that shine like new between shows. The Dolby Atmos sound system in the downstairs theater delivers crystal-clear, immersive audio that elevates the movie-going experience to a whole new level. The reclining, reserved seats are roomy/comfy. The box office and concessions team are super efficient and friendly, making the whole process seamless and enjoyable. The 2 smaller auditoriums upstairs are a little more hit or miss, but due to the care of the staff and the presentation of the feature are still better than the other theater in the area. One thing to note is that the Bedford Playhouse is normally closed on Mondays, and showtimes can be limited, so be sure to plan ahead, you may want to catch that new release but if you blink, you may miss it as films rotate in and out usually within 2 weeks of opening. Whether you're a film buff or just looking for a unique entertainment experience, this theater is a must-visit.

The two associates at the front were super helpful and patient as well, you had to sign up for a waiting list for the virtual reality and they made sure everybody got a chance. My nephew is autistic and they were really patient with him which I appreciated. The reason for the 4 star review is the fact that it was expensive for three of us and not a lot of exhibits. It was hands one which I loved but the main reason we went there was for the drones and they were broken when we got there. I am hoping to go back when the drones are available but for the price, not sure yet. The kids had a really nice time though.

The magnetic wall and the car activities were great, flying the drone was so much fun (well, more like crashing it). Blocks, building of structures, coloring and some electric circuit building activities were available. Ages range - our 3 year old loved it. Some older kids were into the VR and 3D printer pens, and other activities. The price is good - 15 for all day of adventures was reasonable. The space was smallish but airy and bright and clean. There were no bathrooms on the premises but there is one outside behind the stores. It's rather inconvenient when kids are playing and don't want to stop. Overall, we loved the space and would go back again.
