Each show has been great! Of course I have my favorites. But essentially you're getting to see Broadway shows in Ridgefield. They have a snack bar where you can get soda and alcoholic beverages. And also munchies. I however use the time to chat with my friends. So after you pass the snack bar, you can enter the theater. The seats are wonderful. Close enough to the stage that you can see everything at once. There is intermission halfway through. Most of us either visit the restrooms or get more refreshments. Once it's over, it's a quick exit to the parking lot. If you chat for more than 15 minutes afterwards, you'll be alone in the parking lot, lol We have season tickets each year. This means we book our seats early. Give them a try, you'll be glad you did.

Watched the play "working" in March 2019. The actors were all great, the theatre itself is large…read moreand roomy and not a bad seat in the house. A lot of drinks you can purchase, I had a local beer from nod hill on tap and it was great. The sound system was clear and just right I could hear every line. The only problem was the play itself very boring, the video highlights were the best part and very well done. There just wasn't any story at all, fortunately only 80 minutes so I got thru it. Would certainly return for a different play.

We went to our first show at Richter yesterday and throughly enjoyed it. I'm writing a review…read morebecause there isn't a ton of information about this place everywhere. So basically , make sure you come a little before 7. There will be a line that you will wait on until 7 in the driveway of the white building. They are very curtious and have a shuttle that will help people from the parking lot to the drive way but, the walk is easy even if you are in a wheel chair. After waiting for awhile you will be let in THEN it's a free for all.Seating opportunities aren't the greatest so it's better to get there early so you can get right up front. They do provide chairs if needed on limited supply but we brought our own. Make sure they are taller chairs not beach chairs, if behind someone you won't be able to see.Next, BRING FOOD!The hour before goes quickly if you bring a fun picnic for friends and family. There is also some fundraising going on during the show, and a concession for any snacks and drinks you may have forgotten.Reasonably priced.I would also recommend a blanket and BUG SPRAY! I was fine under my blanket but many people brought candles and spray to help shoo the bugs away. Overall , richter is a great outdoor space to enjoy a musical and beautiful night. The tickets are pretty reasonable, just wish they included a bit more because for 20$ you're really just picking a spot on the grass BUT this didn't bother us much.

Wow! Saw Into the Woods last night and loved it! The cast did a superb job (and no, I'm not a cast…read moremember or even slightly related to one.) The singing and dancing was outstanding, as was the orchestra. It was the fifth show I've seen there and probably the best so far. If you've never been, it's an outdoor community theater right next to a golf course. You have to bring your own chair (and seriously, don't forget the bug spray.) It's a lot of fun though.

I recently went back with my son and a friend for opening weekend. It was a low-key visit, but I was reminded how lovely the grounds are. I finally got to walk through the Rosen House--it's full of charm and history. The Sunken Garden was especially calm and relaxing. We had just been to NYBG, and while Caramoor is smaller, it's just as scenic and serene in its own way. Hoping to come back soon for a concert at the Rosen House--it seems like the perfect place to enjoy live music.

Mine for the last almost 30 yrs has been wanting to see Oumou Sangaré live. I couldn't help but feel like the luckiest fan on the planet when I scored $88 tickets a head for our 8pm concert and got watery eyes listening to her here- at the elegant Caramoor on a soupy Saturday. From what I've noticed, Caramoor always brings a top-notch and epic line-up covering a wide variety of genres as was the case with Malian Oumou Sangaré at this venue. On Girdle Road in Katonah, don't drive too swift otherwise you'll miss Caramoor's two stone pillars by the entrance. After that, you'll enter a lush, garden oasis leading to their elegantly lit driving path with white small bulbs. We'd gotten here 5 minutes late and were told to park anywhere we saw a spot and went with that. Thank you! Caramoor's grounds give off a truly cozy feel. There's even more than enough lawn space to grab a blanket or fold-up chair to chill out and listen to the music since the stage isn't far off- if that's what you want to do. With the weather being so unpredictable this summer and getting downpours we should've gotten in the Spring, it was great Oumou Sangaré played underneath an elaborate tent. I will mention though, I wasn't marveling at Caramoor's sound system. While I could make out which songs she was singing- the overall sound was terrible. The bigger picture is that I saw one of my favorite African singers of all time. Two, it says a lot that Caramoor strives to deliver a unique and global experience. To back this up, Angelique Kidjo also played here. While this is my first time visiting Caramoor, this is one experience I'll never forget.
