I tend to try and keep my criticisms to myself since I know that when I get my nails done it won't always be perfect. It's been a few days now and I still am not able to really get over my experience here. I picked this place to get a no chip done since it was close by and had great reviews. Hands down one of the absolute worst manicures I have ever had. My nails were not properly shaped, my cuticles were not cut, and there was nail polish all over my cuticles. My nails were so mis-shapened that i ended up just cutting off my nail entirely when I got home. I haven't been able to get manicures for a while since I used to work in the food industry, so being able to do this was a big treat for me. Definitely was let down by the quality and performance here. Will not recommend anyone to go here to get their nails done. read more

Great beauty salon. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Kim managed to turn my boxed black hair into soft silky mid brown with pretty highlights. Super great service! Went here to get my hair colored and cut and was given an appointment with Sabrina. Upon arriving, staff were super friendly and helpful. Sabrina came over and we talked briefly about my over-dyed red hair and she came up with an awesome solution. I got my hair cut, styled, high lights, low lights, and a little color all for $85! She was fantastic and I've gotten so many compliments! I am highly recommending her to viewers on here and to my friends! read more

I typically have a wonderful experience at Studio Day Spa. I've gotten my nails done and hair cut on numerous occasions and was extremely satisfied with the results. Yesterday I made an appointment to get a closure sew in. The front of the closure did not lay flat, she elected not to use the four bundles that I provided (leaving it thin and lacking body), there was a braid that did not have a track on it on the right side, the closure itself was not symmetrical, and after confirming with a friend that also is a cosmetologist, my edges were at risk due to it being pulled so tight. I would say that I took a chance coming here. I didn't see a good amount of reviews for eyebrows for any of the nail salons in the Carbondale area, so I decided to go to Studio Day Spa because it was walkable and didn't require a car. The nail tech that did my eyebrows was Lauren and she was nice and definitely had great customer service. When she was done, she handed me the mirror for me to take a look. She did a magnificent job. Not only did she cleaned them up, but she also shaped them as well. I didn't even need to tell her my preferences. Horrible service. We had an appointment for 12:30, which they wrote for the wrong time. Then I as assigned a lady, whom I would not call a manicurist. She approached me and without a word extended her hand for what turned out was to look at my nails (as if she had a clue of what she was doing). She told me to follow her without letting me know where we were going to sit. I just stood there. When we finally sat done, she asked me which service did I want. I didn't know and she got me a sheet of paper with a description of each of the services. I chose the regular. This service includes a hand massage. During the time that she did my nails, she got up 3 times to go and look for things, which she didn't have. She removed the nail polish. Then she didn't have the cuticle removing cream. She came back with that cream and basically pushed back the cuticle. She poked my middle finger with the pointed part of the cuticle remover. I was surprised that the finger didn't start bleeding. She then forgot the cream. She left again. She came back without the cream. She came without it. She then was going to put the color without the base cost first. She left again. She must have brought the wrong base coat, because 3 hrs after leaving, the nail polish was still wet. She started puttng the top coat the polish. When I asked her about the massage, she explained that she had done it by putting the cuticle removing cream. She never finished working on removing the cuticles particularly for the middle finger that she poked. I told her several times. She then worked on the cuticles after she had finished putting on the nail polish, because I kept telling her that the finger didn't look right. She then left again to look for the top coat. When she claimed to have finished and without exchanging a word, she left. When I went to pay, she charged me for the express service. I left at 1:30 p.m. and by 4:00 p.m. my nails were still not dry. I went to Walmart and bought nail polish remover. The polish was difficult to remove and like a cake. The finger that she poked is still hurting me to touch. First and definitely last time that I go to this place for anything.
