Skyn Smooth™ specializes is just about everything you need to get the world off of your back...literally! The owner Britt is a Licensed Esthetician and Master Brazilian Sugarer. She does amazing EVERYTHING: Full Body Sugaring and Waxing, Facials, Vagacials, Hydrojelly Masks, Hungarian Mud Masks, Eyebrow Waxing and Henna Tinting...did I say Vagacials? LOL There is also a line of products offered for clients to purchase to continue maintenance at home. The best part is that Skyn Smooth has two locations: Carbondale and O'Fallon, so customers can book for the time and location that is most convenient for them. Anything that you can think of that needs to be removed or refreshed, Britt, the Esthetician Goddess (as I refer to her) will handle with finesse and care. The atmosphere created by Britt at Skyn Smooth is serene, quaint, and calming. Everything is very clean and sanitary, and Britt's personality is absolutely perfect for the line of work she has been chosen for. When I met Britt at her Carbondale location the first time, we hit it off immediately. Hey, when you have someone getting really close to you in a matter of minutes, you need to feel comfortable with them. Amen Church? Amen! I also appreciate the fact that she advertises on her social media and website that she accepts ALL as evidenced by this statement: "Skyn Smooth™ exists to provide a place to enhance, encourage, impower, uplift and guide one on their skin care journey, provide a warming environment and a listening ear to all future and current clients. Skyn Smooth™ is a judgement free zone. All shapes, sizes, and identities are welcome." Now I can really support a business with that type of mindset, and I do. I encourage you to support this business as well. It's always the perfect time to treat yourself and/or someone else to a pampering session. When you book your appointment or buy a few gift certificates, tell Britt that Kindra Speech sent ya!

The extensive hair loss meant a full wig was the best option. As Mom watched, the child learned all about wearing & caring for the wig. When the lesson was over, the child looked in ALL the mirrors. Then she ran to her mom, & twirled around. Mom just smiled. Everyone seemed to be booked for the day and then I walk in here and found I'd be next in line after the lady currently getting her hair cut. When it was my turn, I got my hair shampooed and conditioned before the cut. She asked if I had a picture of what I wanted, and I didn't but tried to explain. She pulled it a picture book and pointed at a hair style and I said yes. At first, the lady scared the life out of me when she started cutting so much hair off. I almost cried. I just needed a trim at the back and here she was cutting inches. I could feel so much of my hair being butchered off my head. I have a lot of hair, and pretty thick at that. I was preparing myself to be disappointed and pretty irked, and bough I couldn't find my voice to speak up. I just watched and felt. And then I started seeing her near-finished result and the fear instantaneously lifted. I liked,no, loved what I was seeing at the corner of my eyes. It was exactly the hairstyle I had wanted long before I got the first cut to shape my hair into an A-frame cut. The shock of getting inches of hair cut off dissipated and I couldn't help but smile and laugh at my absurdity. I love the end result!

Lavish was recommended by several people but Loi, the manager, saw my ask and reached out personally to invite me to his salon. My mom and I came in next day and Loi remembered me from Facebook and got us in for service pretty quickly considering how busy they were. Amy was my tech and WOW she was amazing! I showed her a picture on Pinterest of what I wanted and she matched it almost exactly. Even when we ran into issues (my go-by used gold ribbons and her ribbons lost their color when applying the glue so that wasn't working) she problem solved to get me the look I wanted using alternate means.
