Having recently rekindled my desire for photography, I've taken Heidi's Photo 1 and Photo 2 courses. The one on one or classroom learning experience just can't be beat. Questions can be answered right away for any confusion you may have. Heidi does an excellent job of clearly explaining the process of photography. I've a much better understanding of how to correctly use my new camera, and I keep practicing to put my new knowledge to better use. I hope to one day take the analog course and delve back into actual film! But wait, there is more. Not only can you do photography here, you can also take art painting lessons, and summer camps for kids are also available. Heidi also does an introductory course using Adobe's Lightroom for editing your digital photos. Lenses and Brushes is located in the lower level of the Mercantile building, and the easiest door is located on 8th street directly across from The Warehouse. I'll be the first…read more FIVE STARS Carolyn is good. REALLY good. Especially with uncooperative kids who don't want to even look at you much less smile. She has a great way with them, and her photos prove that. We have done 2 photo sessions with her, including the family christmas card, and the Christmas Cards are the best. SOME people I've sent them to keep them out all year long. Seriously. They are good. I would get a few every year from other people and they really stand out, so I needed to get started with them myself. They are the best. We have done both of our photo sessions at the beach with kind of ' off' weather, NO WORRIES - Carolyn will make everything look great. You look great, the beach looks great. She is great with color and format and making everything look really special. If you look at her website, you will know what I mean. The bright hall is bathed in natural light and also has four lovely chandeliers. There was plenty of room to seat everyone and set things up buffet style. Columns of quaint dining dishes allowed us to take advantage of using as many we needed for a multi-course meal sustainably. Three deep sinks made prep and cleanup a breeze. Simply appointed cozy rooms were lovely to retire to at the end of the day. (I presume these were Sunday School rooms once-upon a time). We didn't use the church part actively, but it served those who needed a quiet, serene place to retreat from the hustle and bustle of a family gathering. I noticed that they have special prices through the end of the year and will consider them again for hosting our holiday meals or special events.
