The setting is beautiful -- right by the water with a really relaxed, romantic vibe. It felt elegant without being stuffy, and everything was laid out in a way that made it easy to enjoy the night. The food was delicious and the bar was not only stunning, but well staffed with a full selection. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone was kind, organized, and seemed to truly care that guests were having a good time. You could tell they do this often and do it well. Parking was easy, everything was convenient, and the whole night flowed smoothly from ceremony to reception. Overall, it just felt like a fun, well-run wedding in a gorgeous spot. I used her services for 2 sessions, my family Christmas photos and my youngest son 1st birthday pictures. Both sessions were a wonderful experience. The Christmas mini session were taken on the beach. I was fortunate that someone cancelled their time slot so I landed with the sunset in our photos. The Christmas session was such a steal. It was a 20 minute session for $30. It included a CD with 5-10 images (we got 10). Aubrae also provided different Christmas backdrops to take pictures with. The images were edited 4 ways and we own the photo rights to it so we could print it anywhere we wanted to. I decided to go with Shutterfly.com to purchase my Christmas cards. The 2nd session was so much fun. For this session my son wore 3 outfits. My favorite one out of the 3 was the cake smash photos as I am a self proclaimed dessert addict. I celebrated each month of my child's existence with some sort of dessert. For almost a year my baby has been subjected to some kind of dessert being shoved in his face and then eaten by everyone except him. My baby demolished the cake. Well some ended up on his thighs, on his head, on his feet, you get the picture. Aubrae was up for anything and she was very accommodating. She had several birthday signs on hand. A few that she had hand made herself, I used 2 of them. The 2nd session lasted for over an hour. My sons photo session happened on Saturday and Aubrae handed our edited pictures on a DVD on Monday. Her turn around for the completed project is amazing! It cost $75. I was guaranteed 15 enhanced digital photos in 5 edited styles on a CD with printing rights. The Guide: Allison Frazier * Vinyasa Flow We began in Malasana. A gentle sway. Then stillness. The studio's earlier practice had focused on Shakti: movement, energy, creation. Now, the focus turned to Shiva: pure awareness, the consciousness beneath it all. Allison invited us to set an intention. If nothing arose, she offered: So Hum. I am. Something arose immediately: I am clarity. Then we moved. Slowly. From all fours, one leg extended. Hands walked forward. The body bowed. Breathe. The other side. Breathe. We gradually climbed toward standing and began to flow. At first, frustration surfaced. Annoyance. Surprise at both. The pace was unfamiliar. I didn't know what was coming or where we were going. Without momentum, there was nowhere for patterns to hide. And yet... the breath remained steady. The room held its warmth. Allison's guidance held the way. This is one of yoga's quiet powers: It creates the space to notice what arises without having to become it. Irritation was present. Peace was present. Neither canceled the other. I could hold both and keep moving. Eventually, resistance gave way. Allison guided us slowly and steadily, weaving So Hum back and forth across the mat. The Space & Place: Red Yoga is essentially one open room: the entrance, cubbies & practice area sharing one sanctuary. Mirrors. Dark wood. Soft curtains. Warm light. Small contemplative figures listen, look inward, and offer reverence. Summary: Allison closed by honoring the place within where the entire universe resides. The practice had made room for all of it: movement and stillness, irritation and peace, our patterns and the awareness witnessing it. When we meet in that place, we are not separate. We are one. Field Note: Stillness was not the absence of movement or emotion. It was the awareness that remained while everything else moved. Practical Notes: * Small, warmly heated room (85-90°F). * Classes run about 60 minutes. * Beginner-friendly. * Cold wet towel at the end of practice. * Aromatherapy. * Bring: Water, a mat (rentals available), and patience for a slower pace if you're used to momentum-driven flow.

The Discovery Center is located near many Boise favorites such as Julia Davis Park, the Boise River, Boise Rose Garden, and the Boise Zoo. This makes it easy to turn a trip to The Discovery Center into a full day of good times. If there's a feature of interest, I would recommend making the time to visit!

The market runs every Tuesday from May 19 through September 29, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. I especially love coming here for the fresh fruits and veggies, locally handmade goods, and freshly baked bread. I'm also a huge fan of local honey and swear by its health benefits! Kingdom Sunrise Acres has a booth here, and I can honestly tell when I go without their honey because my allergies start acting up. I also love browsing all the cute shops and vendor booths. They make the entire experience feel like more than just a farmers market--it's a fun little Tuesday-night outing! There's plenty to enjoy beyond the market, too. Kindred on the Creek has an awesome happy hour and the cutest outdoor seating right along the Greenbelt. I enjoyed their Viognier, with its delicate aromas of honeysuckle and pear, along with their happy-hour charcuterie board--the perfect pairing for relaxing outside! The live music and bands give the whole area such a fun, lively energy, and there are outdoor fountains for the kids to run through. I also spotted a pizza place that I'd love to try while sitting outside at one of the picnic tables. And apparently, one of the nearby bars has $1 Jell-O shots! LOL--those might have to make it onto my Farm to Fork itinerary next time!

I had no idea how many lights they put up, and hadn't seen their new ice skating rink either. The downtown is just brimming with holiday cheer, colorful lights, and ice skating, even music. I guess I didn't fully understand the sheer volume of Christmas lights they put up, but it's enough that you have to walk all the way around and across the river to see it all! It's incredible, and they have some really cool "features" that I wasn't expecting to see. Such fun! It was raining when we went, but the combination of the people, places, lights, excitement, and the magic of all almost made the rain delightful. :) The whole experience brought me so much joy. I've been so stressed lately with all the holiday "stuff" that needs to be done that I forgot what the season was about. My visit to Indian Creek Plaza really brought things into focus for me...not just because of the lights, but because the lights serve as a reminder of the joy, the people, love, and time together is what really makes the holidays so special. Go visit. Take a friend, or your family, or both. Make an evening of it. Grab some coffee or a slice of pizza together, and explore the lights, the creek, and just enjoy each other's company.
