I recently attended a wedding at Waters Edge Event Center in Eagle, and it was such a great experience as a guest! The setting is beautiful -- right by the water with a really relaxed, romantic vibe. It felt elegant without being stuffy, and everything was laid out in a way that made it easy to enjoy the night. The food was delicious and the bar was not only stunning, but well staffed with a full selection. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone was kind, organized, and seemed to truly care that guests were having a good time. You could tell they do this often and do it well. Parking was easy, everything was convenient, and the whole night flowed smoothly from ceremony to reception. Overall, it just felt like a fun, well-run wedding in a gorgeous spot. My husband and I are in our mid 50's. We were married in Tennessee in late October and had a reception @ Waters Edge in late November. The wedding and both receptions were mid size to large and vastly different. In Tennessee we were married in the Smokey Mountains with our reception at a large Country Club and Conference Center. The difference between the two experiences was immensely different! The price for our reception in Tennessee was half of what we paid in Idaho with maybe a 30 guest difference. We served a 3 entre buffet in Tennessee and BREAKFAST food at Waters Edge with at least a $1000 difference in food! Waters Edge also raised the price $3 an entre in mid July. I understand the economy is not what it used to be...we are talking about eggs vs steak! Waters Edge also charged ala carte on EVERYTHING associated with the building. I was charged seperately for everything from table clothes to a coat rack. The Tennessee venue included EVERYTHING! I will say that the staff was exceptional to work with. Ben was very kind and helpful and does his job very well. The staff the evening of our reception were very professional. I have no complaints where they are concerned. The Venue is beautiful (although they do need to mop their floors a little more often....the bottom of my wedding dress was black compared to wearing it on the top of a mountain in Tennessee). My other issues include payment. I was planning on payment in full the Friday evening before our reception @ Waters Edge. I was asked to please pay three days prior so they could make sure our check would clear. I understand this completely from a business perspective and we did.....in the form of a cashiers check which is basically cash. It would have been a cashiers check the Friday before as well. The Country Club in Tennessee did not ask for payment until 3 days AFTER our function. Payment AFTER services were performed AND they made an appointment with me to go over said charges in detail and any concerns I had about the event. Waters Edge charged a non refundable deposit for the venue as well. I feel in a time of COVID this is a little much. At the very least, half of the deposit should have been refundable. After our reception, we received a $528 refund from Waters Edge. It is more than a month later and I am still trying to get that refund! I should have told them I needed to make sure the check clears! All in all, Waters Edge is a lovely venue. We had a fantastic reception and really enjoyed working with the staff. They were amazing! That being said, Waters Edge is over priced for what they offer. I was a groomsman for a wedding at this location so my rating is based on my time at the wedding and the location. This rating isn't based on their wedding planning or ease of use. Located near downtown Eagle this little event center offers enough space and unique options to give a great wedding. The groom and bride both have their own separate rooms to get ready. I believe the bride has more room then the groom, but I never went upstairs to confirm that. The grooms room is a masculine setting with animal skin rugs and leather couches. It fit our party of 7 well. The actual venue has indoor and outdoor seating and a great place for a dance floor. I believe the venue offers two bar tenders for the bar. The food was the worst aspect, but it wasn't bad in the slightest. I don't know for sure if the food was outside catered or not, but my experience with these venues is that they do the catering. Overall the wedding was enjoyable. I didn't see any hiccups originating from the venue or the staff. I'd recommend them to a friend looking for a wedding venue. read more

The service was perfect and the staff was there when you needed them and they were gone at all the right times. The AV set up was nice and it fit our needs perfectly. What a great experience! We had a business meeting here and I can tell you from soup to nuts this place didn't miss a beat. Hot Coffee and danishes available at 7am started off our day. We had our meeting.....then a great lunch buffet Most of the people at the meeting work in the gem mines in the Treasure Valley......Karen wa s so accommodating not to have the lights too bright We booked again for next year and are having our Christmas party there as well. We held our wedding at Waters Edge Event Center on 10/29/22. Ben and the team worked hard to make the event flow smoothly and took care of everything we could have possibly needed. The food was AMAZING and I am still hearing about how great it was several days later (seriously, go for the prime rib!). The venue was beautiful, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and Ben's management was second to none. The wedding planning process can be stressful but Ben was always available for questions and to help calm the nerves of a bit of an anxiety prone bride. Best of all has an excellent team who knows customer service. Look no further than Water's Edge. We met with Karen more than 14 months prior to our event after pricing several other locations. Their location conveniently located in Eagle close to the Eagle Road and next to the Hilton Garden Inn for out of state travelers was a bonus. The professionalism of Karen, Emily, Chef, and the staff blew us away. They cared about us not because we were customers, but they genuinely cared about us as people. They were in sync with our vision and they worked hand and hand with the Eye Candy Design team. The communication for an event like this is so critical and Emily, Karen and the Chef was always accessible. Whether it was via face to face, text message, email, or phone call, all of our questions, and concerns were met with professionalism and politeness. There's never really any training for doing an event like this outside of your home for more than 100. Most people really have a wedding and that's their one experience, but with our daughter's sweet fifteen party, Quinceanera, the Water's Edge team made us feel like pros. From the open the details of the event to the staff on hand to take care of guests. It was perfect! The facilities from the spare room upstairs to the bathroom were first class. The menu and food was hot and properly served. We would definitely recommend Water's Edge for any event and when the time comes, hopefully not to soon, for our daughter's wedding, we have no reservations about having it at the Water's Edge. A friend got married here over New Years. It's a beautiful venue set over the lake by Bardenay. It's nice and open so there's room to fit a lot of people and there's a nice stage at the front for the bride and groom if you're having a wedding. There's a side room that's perfect for a buffet setup too and a nice big bar inside. I wasn't involved in the process from start to finish but from what I did witness, not a lot is included when you book a wedding reception here. They wanted my friend to pay for a lot of extras that most places would include (ie silverware and plates). The temperature situation was a little wonky. It was really hot in the buffet room but freezing in the bathroom. My biggest complaint though was that the bridal getting ready room was upstairs. It was absolutely beautiful but the only way to get to it is stairs. They didn't have any kind of wheelchair lift from what I could see (unless it was hidden in the back somewhere) which, for a newer building, is pretty bad. They could have the bride use the groom's space downstairs if needed but it just doesn't have the same vibe. Upstairs has a separate room for the bride to get ready in and it's a great spot for pictures. So it would be really unfortunate if someone with a disability or in a wheelchair wanted to get married here but wouldn't be able to use the room upstairs. The man who was taking care of cleaning up dishes and refilling the waters was an absolute joy. He was super friendly and helpful with the take down and clean up after the reception. read more

Our family had a Celebration of Life event at Waters Edge mid July 2020, and it was truly lovely! I cannot thank Ben & the staff enough for the entire process. We live out of state & had to do the planning over the phone and email. Also, because of coronavirus uncertainty we had several communications back and forth to make changes and ask questions. Ben was extremely nice and helpful through it all. He also helped us with our last minute technology difficulties & was a great DJ, setting the perfect tone & keeping things moving. The food was delicious! We appreciated the variety of food choices & vegetarian options for our guests. This was the best venue we could have chosen for our wedding day. From the venue your, to the communication, to the days leading to the event, my husband and I felt loved, appreciated and cared for! Karen, Ben, and the team made the entire event easy, affordable, and memorable! The food was to die for! All the guests loved either their steak or chicken, and I had the four cheese penne pasta!! Amazing. The vegetable platter and the bruschetta platter were amazing appetizers!! The bartenders and the servers were wonderful and even helped with clean up. The atmosphere is enchanting but needs some TLC for renovations and upkeep, the staff for the most part were pleasant,however the manager is someone less welcoming she was terribly rude, Gee no wi-fi when ask about it a month in advance all of a sudden a hawk disturbed service. sure thing when it being used by other staff , no equipment for wedding service available , guest had to move. displays, before hall staff could set up dinner tables , empty water pitchers on the table were apparently no ones job so guest needed to search for water refills during dinner, soda and water could be had from the bar during supper as bar was closed but two bar tenders stood behind the bar doing nothing . The facility was inviting but the staff not. Perhaps owner should consider training staff on customer service both in body language and tone and affiliation of voice .Oh one last thing bird drooping should be removed from the sidewalk before guest arrive. To have a long successful competitive business staff , owners , need to go above and beyond. Making the guest , feel the have made the correct decision in choosing your establishment . Waters Edge was wonderful to work with. The Venue was absolutely gorgeous, it needed very few decorations ( We just did a back drop at the alter and medium sized centerpieces). The acoustics in the grand ball room were fantastic, the live band ( Guess When) sounded amazing! The bridal chamber was amazing, I had a great time getting ready with my friends and family. The staff was friendly, polite and professional, They worked great as a team. The food was great with a beautiful presentation. As a bride that had her wedding at this location I will gladly tell you to not choose this venue, I cried twice on my wedding day because the staff was so disorganized, they ran out of food, tried to pour us old rotten beer when we had purchased 3 brand new kegs, indicating that they put on a half keg of old beer, and did not have enough seating all because the GM was not there( like he said he would be) to make sure everything was done correctly. This is only a few of the things that went wrong. Unfortunately my wedding day ending in a disappointing, unorganized event. And the owner Karen did nothing but call us liars and backed up her staff. She did not care at all that my day was extremely stressful and unsatisfactory, a bride should not have to worry about anything on her big day , and unfortunately for me I had to worry about EVERYTHING! They did not have my 2nd head table set up, my own mother had to go and get the table and set it up her self. Again not okay service. If i where you i would pick a different location. read more
