As soon as I walked in I was welcomed. I called 1 hour prior for an appt. The decor was great. Apparently they moved to this location 2 years ago. I arrived 15 min early but they were able to start my wash and treatment prior to my cut. The lady that did my hair wash was AMAZING with her scalp massage. She always made sure to ask me if the water temp was comfortable. (Some people assume everyone's tolerance for heat/cold is the same). The deep conditioning treatment was where she have me a 15 minute scalp Massage. Post washing, the sat me in a comfy Leather chair and offered me a beverage while I waited. I showed Aili a picture of the hairstyle I was going for. (Short Bob that is longer towards the front) she told me since my hair isn't as long in the front that it won't look EXACTLY the same. I appreciated the fact that she told me her honest opinion BEFORE she started cutting. Some people will just cut BEFORE actually assessing, giving you the false pretense that you'll get what you show them, She cut, blow dried and styled and I LOVED it! I couldn't believe how HEALTHY my hair is now! She did a great job and I am DEFINITELY coming back from now on. It costed me $60 for wash, treatment, cut and style. read more

This review is long over due! Two winters ago I decided I'd buzzcut my dead bleached hair at home and cut most of my hair off very unevenly. I ended up not having the correct hair tools and was unable to do it. I looked like a crazy person! I wore a beanie and went on yelp and found studio 79. I read reviews on Jerry and decided to go with him. I revealed my beat up rag doll botched hair cut and we both chuckled and he told me he'd do his best to save my hair and give me a pixie cut. He did an EXCELLENT JOB! He was very patient and easy going. He even offered to wash my hair again after I told him I was going to wash my hair at home to remove any small hairs left behind. When I called they asked me what stylist I wanted and I said it's our first time - so when we arrived we were told our stylist was Marissa. Once we walked in the salon it looked really cool with a hip vibe and super clean. Marissa took my son back and shampooed his hair and proceeded with what style he was looking for. She did a phenomenal job - made me happy to see my son was happy and he looked really handsome. After 10 years of going to the same hairstylist, I had to go find a new one (nothing bad, my hairstylist is just switching to another passion). To Yelp, I went to search for my next hairstylist/salon. I was long overdue for a haircut and kept putting it off since I knew I had to find a new salon. It can be very scary and intimidating trying to find your new go-to spot. I heavily rely on these reviews. After searching and searching, I have my new go-to spot and hairstylist, Aaron! I decided to book an appt after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures of customers. From the reviews, it seemed like Aaron could do what I want, so I texted the number that is found on yelp to ask for appointment availability. I was able to schedule an appt for the same week. Arrived on time and going into it I let Aaron know I was nervous since it was my first new hairstylist in 10 years. I told him what I wanted and my concerns when it comes to new people cutting my hair. I typically get long layers, v-shape cut and thin out my hair since it's really thick and heavy. He understood my concerns of thinning out my hair & knew how to do it properly (I have had bad experiences before! Not everyone knows how to do it properly.) I trusted him and boy did he deliver! This was one of the best cuts if not the best cut. So detailed. What I especially liked is that he asked me to SHOW how much I want off instead of saying "3 inches". I knew exactly how long I want my hair to be so I showed him that this much was what I wanted to be cut off. It was really nice for him to ask and then I could show him. He even asked how long I want the shortest layer to be, which is also really nice. Overall, my experience here with Aaron was amazing! I'm so grateful to have found a new place that I can rely on. That Covid-19 thing, remember that. No haircuts for 3+ months. I was beginning to look like the heat miser (look it up) without the red. Along comes my 20th wedding anniversary and I am in desperate need of haircut. Almost all places were closed and not even answering phones. This is were Studio 79 started to stand out. One, we used Yelp messaging to book my appointment. I love that they used technology and care about the online community. Two, the place was VERY clean and tidy. All Covid related information was easily seen and always adhered to. Three, the owner is a super nice guy with some hair cutting skills. I've been visiting Jerry for over a year and can say with certainty that he is one of the most meticulous and impressive hair artists I have ever come across. I needed to find a new hair salon, since many of the salons I've been to in the past weren't particularly great, so I decided to check out Studio 79 because of all the great reviews. I made an appointment with Jerry after seeing his work here on Yelp. Came in and was offered water or espresso while I wait. Small things like that really add to the experience of a high end salon. The salon itself was very nice and clean and had a modern feel and open layout. As for the haircut, I came in with a rough idea of what I wanted. I showed Jerry a photo that kind of resembled what I had in mind. I further asked for his opinion and he started giving some ideas and suggestions as to what he was gonna do and how he would make it work for me. When it came to cutting my hair, Jerry was very precise and took his time in getting the look that I wanted. The end result was even better than I expected. In addition to the haircut, I also got highlights. I wanted to do silver highlights, but Jerry let me know that this might not be possible on the first try because my hair was so dark. But he said he would try to get it as close as possible. In the end, my hair came out to an ash grey color with a little bit of silver, and I absolutely love it. I didn't think ash grey would be as good as silver, but I ended up liking it a lot more. Overall my experience here at Studio 79 was a very positive one. Love studio 79, the place just screams quality. Made an appointment with Michelle again to get to my hair cut, she does amazing work . Everytime i go in, i get a warm welcome. Despite the fact that i don't get my hair cut very often, Michelle can still remember me and how i would like my hair to be styled. They wash your hair and condition it when you come in. Then you can tell that Michelle really makes an effort to make sure you leave satisfied, she takes her time and works meticulously to make sure every hair is in its place. She makes sure to get feedback from you during and after the hair cut, which ensures that you get your hair styled in the way that you want. After your hair is cut, they take you to the back for one last rinse and wash; this ensures that you dont leave the salon feeling itchy with clippings of hair still stuck to your head. At which point your hair dresser will blowdry and restyle your hair. The prices are fair, $45 for men and $55 for women. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants their hair done right. I know compared to other salons when cutting hair they section bigger pieces to get the job done quicker but Aaron was sooo detail oriented and was sectioning off inch by inch. My hairs thick too so it was a lengthy process but he stuck with it. Plus these layers are PHENOMENAL. I showed my friends the picture inspiration for my cut and they responded "you showed him the picture, and your hairdresser said 'here let me make it better'". LOL. No but he was also super nice and helpful during the whole thing. They were pretty busy for the time being, but squeezed me in at 2. **NOTE** Schedule an appointment before hand, it will be really helpful. Aaron guided me and helped me decide which look was right for me. He lead me step by step with what he was doing with my hair. While handling my hair, he was very gentle. This place is great! In all honesty, Michelle probably gave me the best haircut of my life. The whole experience from start to finish was great. First I sat down and went through some ideas I had on my phone and we found the perfect solution for my hair type. I got a shampoo and conditioner treatment then was brought back to the chair for the cut which ended up going above and beyond my expectations. This is the first time I truly feel like my hair was done correctly, she completely understood the type it is and she did great! The only down side is that she wasnt able to do a bald fade. I've always had anxiety when getting my haircut because almost no one in this world follows your instruction. You want it 1 inch? They cut 2, You show them a picture but they do their own thing anyway it drives you crazy! Sometimes all you want is a little fix but they go ahead and shave the hell out of it.. BUT NOT in this Salon, at least not for Marissa. When I saw her grab the shears first instead of the electric razor I knew I came to the right place. Went in on Friday January 6th to get my hair cut by Marissa. I have never been to this salon and decided to go because of all of the reviews. And may I say this was by far the best experience I have ever had at a hair salon. When I walked in I was actually greeted by Marissa. She appeared to be busy taking care of a couple of morning tasks since they just opened but she offered me some water or coffee. I sat down since I was a couple of minutes early. We started promptly at 10am which was the time of my appointment. Earlier that week I messaged the owner on Yelp and made the appointment with Marissa. I provided pictures and told them I wanted my hair all chopped off. My hair was very long against my lower back and I wanted it cut to my shoulders. She asked if this was my first time having my hair this short and it was. Marissa made sure I was very comfortable in my seat and with my neck when she washed and cut my hair. Don't let the photos scare you: I'm a simple Asian girl who wanted a standard haircut (side swept bangs, layers, V-shape in the back) and got the best haircut... OF MY LIFE. It is pricey ($60/cut for long hair) especially compared to the other Asian places in the area, but you really do get what you pay for. (Added to the excellent hair cut were the offer of beverages, a shampoo, moisture treatment, and friendly/pleasant staff.) Jerry was fantastic!! He asked lots of questions until he had a good idea of what cut I wanted. He also gave me tips about styling my hair and recommended products to use. During the cut, he was very careful and meticulous. At the end, he encouraged me to call and set up a follow-up appointment if I found anything I didn't like over the next week. I had a very rare, but serious, bout of poutiness due to a near-hair crisis (it wasn't bad at all, the hair I mean). I should start by saying that I got a haircut, fairly drastic, from ridiculously long to short, by my trusted stylist who knew me, knew my style, and probably couldn't imagine I would be comfortable with a hairdo so drastically shorter and edgier than what he gave me. And the day after my haircut, new years eve, the day of my friend's wedding, I found myself in a ridiculous state of depression that my hair wasn't as short as I felt comfortable having it. I even called the salon my regular stylist is at - he wouldn't be in that day or the next, and he may not be able to fit me in the day before I left for New York. I searched on yelp (THANK YOU guys!!!) and found Studio79 was the highest rated and incredibly close to home. I hesitated straying from my stylist, and even more unsure about going to one I didn't know to do something more drastic with my hair. I was driving home from an errand though, and Studio79 would be on the way. I reasoned with myself, trusting fate. If they could take a walkin, it was meant to be, if not, you will have to just accept it, crazy woman! I walked in, and poor, poor Jerry walked up to great me. I should paint this picture for you: my hair was undone (ie: literally rolled out of bed) in all crazy directions and I was in sweats and beat up shoes. I was somehow able to relay my semi-sob story to him about wanting it shorter. He looked over my hair. "Even shorter?" he asked. "Yes," I said like a crazy person. "You know like Miley Cyrus' new short hair? "...uuh...no?...That Hannah Montana girl?" It was cute. I showed him pictures of a cross between that and another style. The problem was though, I came in 30 minutes before his 3'o clock and he didn't want to make her wait, and didn't want to rush through my cut and mess it up. A stylist - nay, a person! - who is so considerate of all parties, gets a gold star in my book. But he sat me in the chair, ran his hands through my hair - either appreciative of my regular stylist's skill or hesitant about giving me such a drastic cut - asked me "are you sure you really want to cut it?" Yes. Yes. Yes. He looked through his schedule book - I couldn't do it when he had an opening later in that day, and they weren't open the next day. And did I tell you? Semi-hair crisis was happening? Save for actually twisting his arm, I begged him to cut it. "It's like a boys hair! You can do it quick! You don't have to wash it, just soak it!" "But then you won't have the full experience!" "I DON'T WANT THE FULL EXPERIENCE, I JUST NEED IT CUT!!" He laughed and broke. "Well....maybe she will be late." Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!! And let me tell you, he was quick but gentle with the wash (still insisted on conditioning my hair), and made sure multiple times how short I wanted it, and what I wanted to leave untouched. I didn't know clipper numbers, but when Aaron came in, I pointed at his head and said "like that!" He laughed and said, "okay, then I definitely need to shave it off." Bzzzzzzz. And he was careful, and thorough, and made sure everything worked with the new shorter length - even though he could have rushed through and not done a complete job (and I wouldn't have blamed him). I felt comfortable right when I met him that he would be able to deliver what I wanted. I asked him if he would ever tell a client what they wanted was a bad idea and talk them out of it. "Well, I would try to make it work, but sometimes when they really want it, I just have to do it." Clearly, directed at me, but somehow talking to him made me sure what I wanted would come out okay. On top f that, he was fun, and amazingly and completely sweet about the situation, both of us finding humor in it. His 3'o clock was a little late, but when she walked in, he apologized, I apologized - we still had to make her wait a little longer to make sure the cut he gave me was up to his high standards. So again, 3'o clock girl with the long hair, I'm sorry you had to wait. It really was completely my fault you were asked to wait longer. But I was enveloped in this ridiculous crisis that the sane part of me knew wasn't so bad, yet the other part of me in the throws of some awkward limbo-hair depression. When he wrapped me up, I loved it, of course. He chuckled and said he'd charge me the men's price ($45), again he could have charged me for the women's for the trouble I caused, or you know, because I'm a girl, but he didn't. Awesome. I'm fairly loyal to my regular stylist, but I absolutely will not hesitate at all to recommend Jerry to anyone - even seeking a more drastic do. He's got great skill, character, and personality. First off the decor in this place is very cool! The barbers looked sharp and they had some comfy looking leather seats in front. Three people were getting their haircut and no one was waiting. I showed up at 3pm on a Sunday. No one said "hello" or "hi" instead they one of the barbers just looked at me. I asked if they took walk ins. One of the barbers told me they were kinda busy and went back to cutting hair. It's my day off and I had nothing to do. I could have waited 3 hours I wasn't in any kind of rush. This review is purely for a haircut. I just had my haircut done by Ethan recently. He was very friendly and approachable. He definitely took his time giving me the cut. I'm not sure if he is new/ inexperienced???! That I came out with a pretty messed up haircut.. Meaning it's pretty screwed. I admit that I'm very picky when it comes to hair dresser, but I haven't been this disappointed in awhile. He left a part of my hair weirdly chopped... I can't really explain so here I attached a picture. He also textures my hair a bit TOO MUCH that I'm left with vey little hair.
