After moving from the IE to Diamond Bar, I needed to find a hair salon that would be able to provide me some layers and Korean two block haircut. After countless searches I found Hyun Hair studio and gave a quick phone call to Jennifer back in June. I previously had a chemical perm from another stylist, but wanted to have my natural straight hair since I had my wedding coming up. I booked an appointment with Jennifer in June and requested for my favorite two block haircut with some layers. You start off the service with getting your hair washed and then head over to the chair where Jennifer does her assessment of the next steps. Jennifer was really sweet and personable during the haircut and she also gave honest feedback on what worked for my face. The end result exceeded my expectations since the layers were done so well. Also a big bonus of this salon is the value for the services. A lot of salons and barbershops nowadays charge exorbitant prices that it's difficult to find somewhere affordable and high quality. Hyun hair had great prices that were very fair compared to other places. I loved my experience so much that I had Jennifer also do some layers for my wife. I asked for a wolf cut with the face-framing pieces to chin length minimum but ended up with what looked like a bob with a random tail at the end. Not what I imagined! I was clear with what I wanted and showed her my inspo picture and she briefly took a look at the picture then proceeded with my haircut. I also explained to her what I wanted but she quickly dismissed it and got started. I assumed she knew what she was doing but in the end, she said "If I wanted a bob look, I can just tie my hair back into a ponytail." I was not looking for diversity in my hair but a blended layer look. Plus, in the picture you can see those few strands of hair in the back are just there and it's so awkward. I observed the other stylists working and they'd explain to their clients about the price, giving suggestions, and immersed with their clients but I had none of that. I'm not saying it's terrible for everyone, but if you're considering a cut or potentially any other services, try and find someone else other than Jennifer. read more

He is always willing to listen but offers advice and he has helped me transition nicely to gray (aka platinum) hair. He is always willing to work with my schedule. The relationship between someone and their barber , or in my case "stylist", is a special one so I was really bummed some years ago when mine retired and I was just wandering from place to place within a year looking for that person who I could form an unspoken agreement about what I wanted once I sat in the chair. Luckily, I found Annie over at Hyun Hair, who's not just an awesome stylist who is meticulous and thorough about what she does, but just an awesome and sweet person in general who treats her clients as if they're her close friends - in turn, she is someone I have grown fond of. Over the years, she's been instrumental in figuring out what I wanted on special days like my wedding, even if I didn't know how to best articulate it, and every cut she's given me has been a very clean one. She has also made a regular trim more like an experience with her employment of tools like a scalp massager and air compressor. I almost hate talking about her because it means I might have more people to share her with but she deserves all the praise and business! The establishment itself is also cute and clean and all the hair stylists seem to be very friendly with each other. Hyun Hair also has a nail salon built into it.
