Allen is the best. When I moved here in 2012 I tried several places and was finally recommended to Allen. I have been going to him ever since. He is an excellent colorist and stylist, and is willing to give you his opinion. The shop is very upscale and always clean. The staff are very helpful and always accommodating. I work crazy hours and Allen has scheduled me for very early appointments - no one else will do this (we are talking about 6 am). Allen goes above and beyond for his clients and friends. Knowing Allen and how he runs his shop, I cannot believe he would ever have anything less than a 5 Star review! My daughter is getting married next week in Maryland. When I went for my appointment today I asked him how I should style my hair for the wedding. He styled it how he suggested, then asked for my camera so he could take pictures for me to take with me to show the wedding stylist. Went to have my haircut and colored today with Allen. When I got there at 1o'clock they said they were calling me but they couldn't reach me that my appointment was for 1230. Let's start off with even though I've been going there for year they were calling the wrong number. I said I had the appointment for 1 o'clock - can't you squeeze me in and of course the answer was no. They said the next appointment was March 19 which is absurd if you're waiting for a color to have to wait another five weeks so I said, look this isn't the first time this has happened here - I didn't make this mistake - can't you reschedule me sooner they told me that the person that is at 1o'clock which was the time I came, is a standing appointment ( in other words they couldn't have made the mistake) I understand that but it wasn't my mistake. Anyway, they made an appointment for March 9 at 7 AM and as soon as I got in the car they called me to tell me that Alan thinks we are not a good fit. And basically she said he doesn't want to work with you anymore. Which is fine because his work was erratic at best, and I accepted it only because I thought it would be easier for me to have time to find another person which I have been looking for anyway. BUT even if I made the mistake and not them, wouldn't you think that you would say to a customer, I'm sorry that you had this problem - let's see what we can do to accommodate you - wouldn't this be the way to treat a customer ? None of that was said - no courtesy whatsoever so be forewarned this is what you would be dealing with - it's fine if you don't have a problem but like I said his work is erratic. read more

Had my last stylist for 10 years, then we moved to Sarasota. I was referred to Allen after completing a customers beautiful cut and color. He is GREAT!! The atmosphere is super friendly, he always has a great smile and has always given me a great hair cut exactly the way I have asked for. Whatta relief!! read more

Great place. Alan fires my hair and I love the blond highlights. Plus I have a sensitive scalp that reacts to dye but Alan uses a brand that doesn't cause my scalp to burn or itch. A really fun and friendly atmosphere. read more

Sadly this review couldn't be any worse. On Fri 8/9 I went to Allen for color and cut before my Europe vacation. I am a regular customer for about a year. Allen forgot me under heat for color and over cooked my hair. Not telling me there was an issue he elected to use a toner on me which turned my hair totally grey. He and Lori claimed they use this toner on my hair every time. Just not the case. NEVER-EVER used on me. When I asked him to fix it he told me to tell him what I wanted. He could not tell me his attempts would work so I opted for his offer of a refund. His remark was it was that was a cheap way for him to never have to see me again. I have been going to Allen Tyre for about 15 years. Allen is not only an excellent stylist but he is familiar with several different cutting techniques and he knows what to utilize for various hair types. Allen not only listens but he is not shy about suggestions that will work best for you. He is the gold standard for stylist!!! Recently I went to another salon and asked for a trim of 4 inches ...she cut 10 inches off of the length and left my hair looking uneven and butchered....and the worst part is I paid her 60 dollars to ruin my hair!! I know that the other stylists that work next to Allen are of good quality as well but me being partial to Allen if you can get in to see him DO IT you won't be disappointed !!! read more

I have been going to Studio 7119 for years! Even when they were at the original 7119. The present location is delightful. The boutique always has unique and well priced items, especially for the holiday season, you could do most of your shopping right there while you get glamourous. It is a fun, yet professional environment. They not only deliver exceptional service and results, but you feel like the salon is part of your family! Or you could say it is like walking into Cheers where everyone remembers you and what is going on in your life. Sometimes it is like picking up a really good novel and getting enthralled, right where you left off. In the end, you always walk out looking and feeling great.
