TM, as it's known has done wonders for me and my family. We have witnessed a reduction in general anxiety and insomnia and I have enjoyed the focus and clarity I have as a result of my daily practice. My father is a Vietnam Veteran who has soul-shaking nightmares, which is part of what made me stumble across TM again and realize it was NOT what I thought. He called me in February recounting a recent nightmare and I inadvertently found that TM is offered to Veterans through a special pricing program. That's all I needed to hear. I signed us up for the orientation that was to be held the following day and we were trained that week. We have never looked back. I am a mental health counselor in private practice and agency work for over 20 years and my husband is a scientist in health-related issues. We are consistently reviewing evidence for different protocols and methodologies within our professions. The evidence for TM is overwhelming in all the ways it can benefit the mind, body, and soul. In fact, it is the only meditation method that IS evidence-based with over 40 years of studies showing its efficacy--some studies even show that TM is MORE effective than drugs that could be taken for certain symptoms. My father, husband, and I all think of our Daily Meditation as our "daily medication," as important, or more so than ANY pill we could be prescribed. What I really loved is the invitation to the SKEPTICS (we were skeptical too!) GO to an orientation! GO with all your skepticism and questions and doubts!! You have absolutely nothing to lose and so, so much to gain. You'll also get to see that this is a method--a technique--there is no connection to any religion if that were a reason not to give TM a try. Attend an orientation and enjoy the benefits of TM sooner than later. That's the only thing I'd have changed about my TM experience; that I'd gone sooner and implemented the practice in my life sooner. The benefits are innumerable. Training by Denise and Joseph is literally the Cherry on Top--two wonderful people who really enhanced the experience for us. AND, Denise literally 'wrote the book' on TM in the 70s!! It was super easy to book online with Levity when I checked their website and was able to get an appointment next day. They offer a huge array of services and I was initially intrigued with the float therapy, but I ended up getting a massage. If you check out their website their services are reasonably priced and they are located in midtown in an easy to access studio. The first thing I noticed when I walked up was that the ramp was handicap accessible to their door and it was easy to find the front entrance (there's a huge sign that says Levity you can't miss it). Everyone was very friendly when I got in and my massage therapy Lindsey K. assessed my needs and asked questions before we started. The massage was great... it flew by. I'll be back. I had heard about this group for…read morequite some time, but found that I was not attracted to the meditation hour: the group meets beginning at 7 p.m. on a Sunday. Considering I work Mondays through Fridays and keep very busy weekday hours, I like to use my Sunday evenings for preparing for the week. But I opted to go, wanting to learn about the group's members and share in their ritual meditation. I must offer a disclaimer: In my meditation practice, I prefer non-guided meditations, or silent sits. It's just a personal preference. The meditation portion was not guided -- we received an introduction and sat silently for a half hour. I enjoyed that part. Then we did a walking meditation in which there also was no talking. I had not done a walking meditation before. I enjoyed it and loved how it brought my attention very purposefully back to my environment, to myself and to the person walking before me and the person walking behind me. That was quite lovely, and challenging at times. The group then moved into the reflection period, during which people were allowed to share thoughts, ideas, perspectives, experiences and resources or whatever else. There was no dialogue, just sharing. This seemed to take up a substantial part of the time. In all, I very much enjoyed the group. The space is nice. Very linear and, on this summer night, was very hot. The fans overhead were going at full speed, but it was still somewhat uncomfortable. Also about the space, I love the flooring. It's a beautiful design and has a yield that is ever so slight. It feels wonderful to the touch of the hands or the feet. And I appreciate that the studio offers blankets, mats and pillows.

WOW!!! Today my husband and I experienced our first hot yoga class!! We loved it!! We work out 5-6…read moretimes per week and I'm amazed at how many calories we burned!! Our heart rates also got pretty high which made me happy!! It was a great workout while being very centering! I cannot wait for my next class! Nikki, the new owner was our instructor and she is passionate and knowledgeable. She was easy to follow and I love how she kept reminding me that the practice was mine. I found Bodhiblanco on Instagram and decided to schedule a 90 min massage. It is a home studio which is very different and unique. I felt very relaxed and safe in her home based studio. It's very clean and I feel safe going to her even during the pandemic. She wears a face mask during the entire massage. Needless to say, I fell asleep during my 90 min and felt so embarrassed but she reassured me, that was the biggest compliment she could ever receive. I have been going to her every month sometimes twice a month because I struggle with bad posture. She has the little pillows she places under your shoulders to make sure you straight on her massage table which really changes the experience. Her techniques are wonderful and she provides a lot of attention to your problem areas but also does a full body massage. The massage room is very cozy and relaxing. I came in to do a double class drop in , vinyasa- hot & vinyasa warm with soundbath . Overall it's not going to be on my top10 places to yoga out here but I may be back for another class one day it's not terrible, just doesn't come close to some of the yoga experiences I've had in town. During soundbath instructor opened door , It's 4th so it's loud and distracting outside . It would have been nice to just have it closed.
