Her responses were in monosyllables. I asked about pricing twice. Transparent pricing is important when clients are trying to budget and compare services, especially for larger appointments or events. The lack of clarity made the experience frustrating and ultimately discouraged me from booking. She listened and asked me various questions to reverify what I was requesting. My hair presented some special challenges as I had some existing low lights and was requesting a specialized cut. Overall, I think this group of ladies was very professional, but I am disappointed with my hair and make-up execution. When I reached out to Salon 1|4 to do my trials, I didn't see these two items as being missed, but were unfortunately missed on my wedding day. Malia did my hair and although the curls are beautiful, she didn't part my hair straight. I have naturally dark hair and very pale skin, so my crooked hair part was very noticeable in many of my wedding photos. I did tell Malia too what kind of part I had, but she didn't bother to straighten it. Tara did my make-up, which she is very good at! The big miss on her end is that my eyeliner and/or fake lashes were not even across my eyes. Again, this was very noticeable in many up closed wedding photos of mine. It's really a big bummer and makes me sad looking through my photos. We didn't have mirrors in our getting ready space, which I regret significantly, but regardless, I really wish these ladies did a better job double checking their work before calling me done. I spent over $2000 on hair and make-up for 8 ladies, including myself. I was certainly expecting a more polished finish. I'd recommend looking at another salon or company before considering Salon 1|4 for your wedding.

My hair is not difficult, I am a brunette who was just looking for some dimension in my hair. I decided to got with DL Lowry since it had such great reviews. I spent hours researching their stylists and picked the perfect one for my needs. I called weeks in advance and scheduled my appointment. I was really excited because I've been so down about my hair and I had a wedding coming up on Saturday and was really excited to look pretty. I'm crying as I write this because if you know what it's like to be done dirty by a salon then you know. It sucks. It beats you down. Hair is so important to me and so I was so excited. I felt like I finally was going to get beautiful hair again. Wrong. The night before my appointment I was so excited, I checked in online and while I was checking in I noticed a different name than the high level dimensional brunette stylist I extensively researched. I knew then that it was happening again and I was about to be shoved over. I called the next morning and sure enough, they switched the stylist to a different lower level stylist (who I'm sure is great) who doesn't specialize in what I wanted because the stylist I wanted had scheduled someone else and no longer had time for my spot. No call, no text. Just switched me. Maybe if they would've given me the courtesy of letting me know early I could've rescheduled for a time before the wedding. But no. Day of appointment when I called they informed me that they moved me and she would not have any time to see me. I informed them that I scheduled in advance and that the wedding was Saturday. They did not care. They said they would "make a note for next time" whatever that means, idk how that would help since the wedding will be long over and I can promise you I will never be going back. I feel like once again I as a customer and a person am so unimportant.
