I called yesterday and scheduled an appt for my grand daughter. I was able to get an appt today at 6pm. I was told they needed a credit card in order to schedule the appt and their policy was that they need 24 hrs notice to cancel or I woukd be charged. We left at 5:35pm so we would be sure to be a few min early. I received a call at 5:43pm from the receptionist saying there was sone kind of scheduling issue and they would not be able to do her hair cut today. They only gave us 17 min notice to cancel our appt. I find it pretty rude to tell me/clients they have to give at least 24hr notice, then only give about 15min notice. Had i known earlier i might have been able to get her in somewhere else today. I won't try them again, there lack of respect for my time is not worth it. I had followed my hairdresser from the salon they left. Went a few times and it got more pricey every time. Took way too long. And upon checkout I left a generous tip. A few days later I look online at my bank account and discover I was charged twice for the tip. I called them immediately and was told it will drop off in a day or two and it was a mistake. Uh uh checked with my bank and they said they legit charged you twice. So I went in there and they said the owner was not there but I was told she will be made aware and get back to me. Nope. I got the run around and kept telling them it is not dropping off of my bank account. I finally went in there showed them on my phone and they gave me cash back. Keep in mind this was the owner that charged me twice when I checked out from my services. Never went back. I lost a great hairdresser over this and they lost a customer forever. Too many things going on in there. Noisy. Not relaxing at all. A good chance you will get bounced from room to room. read more

It took 5 and a half hours for a partial foil!!! Ridiculous!!! Then despite the lack of talking for the most part, I was charged for the root smudge, the additional color and toner. Lots of product choices and low-pressure sales. I felt more like I was prescribed only necessary products that were tailored to my needs. Katie is phenomenal. She made me feel so comfortable, truly listened to my goals (which were lofty ) and set me on a course to achieve them. She truly delivered! Katie gave me the shag haircut of my dreams, and also educated me on how to style. I was very hesitant to ask for one, because they can easily go south, but this is not the 80's shag that I was afraid of getting. My hair has so much movement, and I feel so cute and trendy, which was what I needed after years of blunt all-one-length haircuts. Katie was clearly passionate about this haircut, and demonstrated her skills well. She was intentional, and took all of my hair characteristics and lifestyle goals into account. Girls are pretty nice and the facility is cute. I asked for their most experienced stylist. She did an ok job but didn't strike me as very experienced. If I'm going to pay $65 for a hair cut I prefer to not have to style it myself. The stylist did admit she didn't know how to style my hair. It is anything complicated. My hair is fine and the length is just below the ear. Also they will charge you if you don't cancel ahead of time. They tried to charge me when I canceled even though I didn't get a reminder. I made a consultation appointment for hair. The Hairdresser looked at my hair did not even touch or feel it then told me the price of highlights and then the price of a haircut. I was OK with the price of the highlights the haircut just seemed overpriced for a trim that's all I needed not a style. When I asked why so expensive I was told that's just the price it is. She could've at least just said we're going to deep condition it or something to try to sell that $65 hair trim. I could tell she didn't want to do my hair. read more

I'm so glad I decided to try this salon and made an appt with Chris. I knew I wanted a few minutes beforehand for a consult regarding trying a new hairstyle (with both a new salon and stylist, that was very brave of me). After using the Get in Touch link from their website I was able to inquire about a pre appt consult. I was promptly contacted and, via text, was able to conveniently book my appointment. I brought with me some notes and pictures of what I like and don't like and Chris and I discussed various options. Her questions were spot on and because I asked for her opinion, she was clear about what she thought would work well with my hair and how it would effect the overall look and ease of styling. In very little time it was obvious to me that she had the experience, know how and thoughtfulness to help me. Feeling very positive about the consult eased a lot of my stress. I'm glad I waited, researched and read so many reviews. Being new to Arlington, I really wanted to choose the right salon for me but thought I'd probably have to try at least a couple before I found the right one. I feel very lucky to have found the best stylist and salon for me on my first try. I'm 100% confident with and looking forward to future appointments with Chris. I'm also very impressed with the salon as a whole. Check-in was a prompt and good experience. The salon itself is clean, well organized and the decor is calming and pleasant. I felt at ease there. I noticed right away that the products there are of high quality. I recognized some of the brands and I was very impressed to find one skincare brand in particular because I'm aware of their high quality standards. If this brand is available at this salon, I'm confident Studio 5 Glam must be required to maintain a certain standard of professionalism and quality of service. I also noticed one or two brands I was not familiar with. I think some salons choose two or three product lines (some of which change from time to time) based on trends and profit. My sense is that Chris selects the products she carries based on performance and that, perhaps, is why you'll find one or two more product lines available there. I'm looking forward to trying one of their spa treatments very soon and I've already pre-booked my next haircut. I'm really very impressed and glad I gave Studio 5 Glam a try. read more

This was my first time coming here and I was reluctant because I've had many bad experiences with hair stylists from different places. Most stylists I've gone to in the past (Regis Salon) have either been really frustrated with my thick and unruly hair and end up doing a poor job. I was very very happy with Honnah from Studio5 Hair Design. I was amazed how great she was with my hair! I've never been this happy with the outcome of her work on my hair! I will continue going to her in the future. She's amazing! The building is a cute craftsman style bungalow, turned into a full service salon- wood floors, a fireplace with bright, fun tile work, and lots of charm. I had a Japanese Hair Straightening treatment here, after having lousy luck finding a good place where someone was trained to do this in Everett. I also got a trim at the same time. Chris (the owner) was wonderful. I could tell that she really cared how my hair turned out. I have had the privilege of the owner of Studio 5 being my stylist for 15 plus years. Following her from her original salon in Everett simply because of her knowledge, creativity and customer service skills. There were times in the past where I needed to go to other salons due to my schedule changes and paid a dear price only to have to schedule an "emergency" color fix or cut and learned my lesson. The owner takes pride in her work, and expects nothing less from her employees. The owner takes her team of stylists to hair shows and workshops which ensures that her and her employees are always current on today's trends and styles. The service is you receive the minute you walk through the front door until the second you leave is in my opinion is TOP NOTCH and I have never been to any other salon that makes sure you are completely taken care of for your entire visit. The staff is also accommodating to your schedule and most important, won't let you out of your chair until you're 100% satisfied and happy! If for some reason you aren't and explain why, you won't be left feeling like a jerk for saying so, or feeling like you are a bother. They TRULY want their clients walking out of the salon feeling beautiful. In fact, just earlier this year I was running late to drop by to get my blue and green extensions put in real quick for the Superbowl but didn't make it in time. I texted the owner and 5 min later one of the girls drove back to the salon, opened it up and put the extensions in for me. If that's not saying something about trying to please your clientele I don't know what is. And of course, having a salon like this in little Arlington is heaven sent as I honestly think I would have to travel to Seattle or Bellevue every six weeks to get the same service and hopefully as skilled stylist. 5 stars from me all day long. read more

Never had a worse salon experience in my life! Walked in, stylist (not mine) greeted me nicely, offered me a drink and told me that my stylist was running a bit behind. Ok, no problem. I waited. Made this appointment a few days back, not a drop-in, so anything up to about 15 is ok by me. I went to Gene Juarez Academy for training and know that these things sometimes happen... 5...10...15...20...25..30 and I finally see my stylist that didn't bother to come out and even say - I'm sorry, I'm running really late, can we rebook or is waiting a bit longer ok? Completely unprofessional!! This would NEVER happen at Gene Juarez. For that matter, I've never been treated so poorly - not even at HairMasters!! Unbelievable. When she finally did acknowledge me, and ask me how I was, I was honest - I told her I was upset about waiting so long without two words said to me. I told her that it was unprofessional and unacceptable to make a client wait. Her excuse was she didn't know I was there... REALLY? You are supposed to KNOW what your appointments are for the day (like I said, not a drop in). She said I was rude and that she didn't need the abuse (um hello, since when is telling the truth about poor service abuse?!) and that I could leave. No problem, I only wasted 45 minutes of my equally valuable time to be treated like a second-class citizen... I will NEVER recommend this salon to anyone I know. I received great service at Oasis, and will highly recommend them instead. read more
