I saw a recommendation for Studio 44 in the Lansdale Community Hive a while back. I'm so glad I saw it, and so glad I acted on it. I've been there twice (I see Gail) and I really like her and the place. Everything about the salon is clean, fresh and professional. Gail (so sorry if I'm mis-spelling her name) is great. I have a natural curl that I've blown out most of my life. She has shown me how to manage it and I really like my hair now. I have curly hair and have been going to Lori for a deva cut for years now. Lori always gives me a great cut and color. She always listens to any changes I want to make and explains all the pros and cons before we move forward. People often stop me to ask where I get my curls cut and what products I use. There are so many people with curly hair who don't know how to care for it and I have sent several to Lori. She is so great at explaining how to use the deva products and how to care for your hair. I first discovered this little gem when I received a gift certificate from my Stepmother for Christmas a few years back. I must admit that I had my snob o meter on when I first walked into their old salon located in a crummy strip mall in Chalfont. That was until I met Kristen. Kristen is a very talented hair stylist. She is perhaps one of 2 people that have ever been able to cut my hair (the other has since moved to Denver). I have one big head of thick yuck going on. And I am embarrassed to say that although I am in the beauty biz myself, I am a bit of a doofus when it comes to hair. That is why I leave that up to her, and I am never disappointed. The salon has since moved to a newly renovated location in Lansdale where they now offer a complete menu of spa services. I have yet to try them out-- cause I never have time! But, when I do... The hair stylists definitely deserve the praise but please do not use this salon for makeup services if you require anything more than basic eye look and lashes. Their makeup artist are good enough for prom but not for weddings or dramatic eyeshadow and yet they still will charge you what it might cost a full face at Mac or Sephora. My sister scheduled hair and makeup for our cousins wedding and where the hair styling was on point the makeup we redid after leaving the salon. read more

Disappointed to say I booked this place for hair and makeup for three people for a wedding. The hair stylist were all amazing and worked very hard. However, I was really disappointed in the makeup. I decided not to get my makeup done here after seeing the amateur job they had done on my sister. She wanted to get eyelashes and the lady said she didn't know how and we would have to wait for a different person to come do it. She was very sweet but did not have the skill set for wedding makeup. I wish they had let us know this before hand so we wouldn't have wasted our time. We both went after to the mall Mac counter and got our makeup and eyelashes done. read more

They always do a great job, I see Ashley and she always listens to what I want and works with me until its just right! If I need to run in last minute she is always very cool with me seeing another stylist. Also, coffee in the morning and wine in the evening! How can you go wrong? Also pricing is very competive with other salons in the area. read more

I have not tried any of the hairstylists here, which seems to be the main thing people are raving about. Perhaps they are indeed great - I can't speak either way to that. With that caveat... I went to Studio 44 to have my eyebrows done (this was several months ago now - perhaps they have changed their Esthetician by this point). In any event, the woman seemed friendly, but inexperienced. She did my eyebrows unevenly and left a large number of stray hairs (I expect a few, but this was more like a dozen). I didn't make a stink about it, but I also didn't go back. If you're looking for a place to get your eyebrows done, I'd suggest giving this one a pass. On the up-side: the interior of Studio 44 is clean and aesthetically pleasing and the wait time was reasonable. read more

I have been seeing Gayle at Studio 44 since 2004. Everyone at the salon is super friendly and I enjoy coming here for my regular haircut, color treatment, and waxing (ahh, the things we women do for beauty, right?). Gayle is always thinking of creative and fun ways to change up my hair style and keep it fresh; I trust her recommendations implicitly. I have lived both locally and out of the area throughout the past 13 years (Langhorne area currently), but I faithfully make the commute to Lansdale because Gayle and the ladies at Studio 44 are amazing. I took my 6 year old daughter to Studio 44 today for a deva cut. Prior to us arriving I was told to come with dry and product free hair. This was our first experience with this salon and our last. Upon walking in no one greeted us. Finally Lori took us back and looked at my daughters hair in disgust. She said she can't work with her hair it's too frizzy and knotty. She then started ripping my daughters hair trying to section it. Then she took her scissors and started cutting through her hair just to section it. The second time she started to tug and rip her sections apart damaging her hair, I said that's it and we got up and left. I am appalled by the lack of professionalism. My daughter was EXTREMELY disappointed as this was her first experience in an adult salon and it wasn't a good one! read more

Ask for Mary!!!! I was in town for a wedding so I looked on Yelp for a place to get a regular Men's haircut. This place had great reviews so I thought I'd try it. It's definitely got that Jersey salon style but with actual class and no annoying accents. ( I'm born & raised in Florida so I only know what I see on TV). The girl who washes & conditions your hair is great. She almost put me to sleep! Mary cut my hair and she did a wonderful job. Go see her! gayle has been cutting my hair for around twelve years now, since i was about seven or so. she is amazing, and so is studio 44! the salon is beautiful, everyone is super nice, and the hairdressers are amazing, as are the makeup artists. i have never had my nails done here, but i'm sure that service is as excellent as the rest! read more
