    Patch at deck

They were clear on their process. We're on time and neat with the project. This was deck wall repair after hail, plus after the deck patch (exterior wall), and they matched the two-tone color patch when all when done. It's looks really nice. Thank you! Jan 2023

Alex and his crews did a great job making my stucco great again. He also started the job earlier than anticipated and finished way before I expected. Will definitely use them again. I wish they would have been the contractor to install the stucco in the first place.

Creepers and done a number on our stucco. Causing large pock marked holes when we removed it last fall.

Way over-priced. The quote for a few repairs that would take half a day to complete was double what it should have been

I had a great experience working with Heartland Construction Services LLC (also known as Rex…read moreRoofing & Restoration, LLC). They were able to get the job done quickly and efficiently, and they were very customer service oriented. I contacted Joe from Heartland in January of 2022 for the first time. He appeared to be very transparent, knowledgeable, and honest. The company also had the right documentation, reviews, and insurance coverage required to finish the job. I feel like they explained the process extremely well from start to finish. They were also very familiar with the process of working with insurance. The company had a few hiccups with the project, but they handled them graciously and with a strong sense of urgency. For example, there was a delay in getting started because they needed to wait for the insurance company to approve the claim. However, once they got started, they were able to complete the roof installation in a day and they got me on the schedule in only a week's time (despite the overall delays in the industry). In other words, another company may have taken a month to get the project scheduled and materials ordered. They had also got some green skid marks on the driveway from moving the OSB boards, but were out in no time to power wash and scrub the driveway clean. Don was out there on his hands and knees. To me, that is a whole new level of dedication to customer service. Another company may have just snubbed its nose at my concerns and ignored them. Don, the project manager was out several times to make sure the job was done right. He even came back days later to finish painting the inside trim around the skylight. Shannon kept me informed and always was on top of addressing any concerns or needed information. Specifically, Shannon was always quick to respond and always had the answers to my questions. She was a great advocate for me as the customer and helped to keep the project on track (despite those delays because of insurance). I really appreciate all her help in getting the job done. Joe has a lot of experience with this kind of work, and he knows that insurance companies and building departments can be tough to deal with. He was really persistent in advocating for me and trying different approaches. His expertise and problem-solving skills were greatly appreciated. Heartland was also able to upgrade my roof with high-quality class 4 shingles and their team was professional, friendly, and courteous throughout the entire project. They also went above and beyond getting the payout I deserved from my insurance company. The fight dragged on for much longer than it should have, but even the lawyers didn't care to take it on. I can only be eternally grateful for going to bat for the customer and doing what's in their best interest through and through. In short, Heartland Construction is top-notch in every way--I highly recommend them!

Stay far away from them if you're not in a reasonable service area. They are an insurance claim chaser company and will step all over you to get at your payout. They sent different people out to inspect and provide quotes (gutter and soffits/fascia was the scope requested). I did not ask for a roof assessment but the gutter guy thought it might be eligible for an insurance replacement, so I said sure send the guy on out and let's see what happens. That's where it got really.... interesting. My first appointment was for a Friday. I asked for a specific time so I could manage my work schedule around the inspection. A time was agreed upon. Nobody showed up. I had to initiate contact to find out that they would not be coming that day due to the time/distance. We rescheduled and on the rescheduled date, I reached out early to confirm the time and was told the inspector would be 30min late. I readjusted my work calendar and was notified it would be an additional 15min. This turned out to very much work in my favor. The inspection was very thorough and took about 1.5hr. At the conclusion of the inspection I was told they can convince the insurance company to replace the roof. They showed me what ended up being a contract, but was not presented as such explicitly by name. I was asked to sign before they revealed the "fine print" on the back page - which involved having the insurance company sign the check over to Rex Roofing rather than me (I have USAA). This didn't sit well after discussing with several people and reviewing the fine print. I voided the contract within the 72 hour grace period so I can get a second opinion, gather additional quotes, and control my own insurance payout (if that happens). Instead of responding to me to confirm they received my email (always document in writing! With time stamps!) they forwarded it to the inspector who started texting me asking to "resolve" the situation. I explained, as I had in the email, that I would be taking my insurance payout myself and I requested a "cash price" quote from them. I was then told there was no way my insurance company would approve it without the inspector present, a number of wild assumptions and insinuations were made, and I was essentially berated by text by the salesman for exercising a legal right to void the contract. I had to block his number because he would not stop texting me to mansplain how I had no idea what I was doing as a homeowner and he was the only person who could convince my insurance adjuster to cover the roof. Turns out he was right - they talked me into opening a claim, the adjuster said the roof is perfectly fine and they would replace only one portion of one downspout that had hail damage. I can't tell you how the "value" of this company compares to others because they said they would do the work "for a price agreed upon with the insurance company" without providing a scope of work or any numbers of any kind in writing - so I guess they're not really interested in much besides doing the job for as much as they can squeeze out of the insurance company. I might not have made a USAA claim myself but everyone else in my family has.

Instead, the only options to communicate with him were email and text. If I had multiple questions for him in the same message and he would only answer one, leaving the others unanswered. Multiple mistakes: There were multiple mistakes in the construction. For example, they put the door frame in the wrong place, which I had to correct them. This happened twice with two doors. Unprofessional language: When I brought up that the door frame was placed incorrectly, he blamed me for it, even though I had provided him exact diagrams. Not only that, he treated me using rude and unprofessional language. Lying about materials: An important part of this construction was to use sound proof insulation. However, Greg proceeded to install a cheaper material that was not sound proof. He claimed that the new material was just as good (which wasn't) and that the original material was not available, even though it was in stock at the nearest Home Depot and Lowes. While the building turned out OK in the end, the construction took 6 months to complete and took significant effort and frustration on my part.

He knows how to work the system and you will have no leverage to hold him accountable for what he says he will do. He is a despicable person to work with and everything will be done his way even if that means you don't get what he said you would, or what you paid for. He is sometimes very good about returning phone calls but it doesn't matter because he will not address your concerns. He doesn't care. My project took 6 months and he never showed up to the job site even once, not once until the end and it was time to collect money. In regards to my project, he cut a lot of corners and pushed me around like I was garbage. He didn't provide a porta-potty for his subs, left all the trash and rotting garbage in my front yard for months which was so embarrassing to neighbors and killed my grass. The $30K driveway that they installed completely disintegrated in 16 months and he was willing to do nothing. I could tell you much, much, more. It won't matter to him because he has all the work he can get, but for your sake, run like hell from this dude. Please don't make the same mistake I made. TW

They can break your newly installed windows, flood your home damaging drywall, rugs, hardwood floors and they will take you to court, show up with a "friend" who claims to be a professional plumber who of course states that Peak did nothing wrong. The master plumbers I checked with (after the fact) said the proper way to install stucco and stone to your home is to remove the hose bib from your house is to afix it to a solid post placed deeply into the ground. This is to prevent damage to your plumbing inside your home. Peak failed to secure the hose bib and pulled on it repeatedly over a week and it finally broke the plumbing nside my home causing a flood and thousands of dollars in damage. Anyway, with all of my photos, bills for repairs, and video testimony from my plumber, the judge still sided with Peak and they now have a judgement against me...why? BECAUSE OF THE TINY PRINT in the contract that absolves them from any damage they might cause including bodily injury to my dog because of their thousands of pieces of silver flashing left all around my home. Anyway, to give them some credit, the home does look much better on the outside but I wish I had chosen another contractor that would at least have some insurance to cover damages caused by their workers.
