My house was built in 1999, and I had lots of cracked bricks and settling (in Aurora, CO.) Called a structural company, who said I don't need his services, it's just a little bit of settling, just repair the bricks. So I called Masonry Restoration, and George Bebekas (owner) came out within a couple days, and gave me a quote to build me a new step (because there had been like 6" of settling and the step was too high now), and to replace all my broken bricks, and fill in all the cracks all over the house. I was very pleased with the bid, got HOA approval, called George, and he went and picked up the bricks (as soon as the brick maker made them...it was an old kind that they don't make regularly, only a few times a year.) So I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but I couldn't be more pleased! Communication was 100% awesome, and they were amazing at cleaning up after themselves, and laying down rugs wherever they were working, so nothing existing was damaged. (They even laid down rugs when the concrete truck arrived!) The first day they took up the old concrete, and laid down the new. (Note: they don't do a ton of concrete work like sidewalks and driveways. They only do the amount necessary for this particular job. Like George would not have bid me for a whole new driveway, although I wish he would! But he's in the masonry business, not the concrete business, although they are superb at that too! I watched them detail my new sidewalk and was mesmerized for an hour at all the amazing tools they have to make it look splendid!) Then they arrived early the next morning to build the new step. It was all done by about 3pm on the 2nd day. (2 days total for concrete work and building the new step, and replacing all the broken bricks.) We had to stay off the concrete for only overnight, and the new step was ready to walk on the next day as well. Also, all the grout matched perfectly! I wish that all my "To Do's"/projects went as well as this one did, I'd get a lot more done! It was just a pleasure doing business with George, and watching his crew do their amazing craft so well! I could not have asked for a better experience! I told George that he and his crew could do masonry work for the White House or the King's palace! Everything about it was just a pleasure! George came out and gave me a quote next-day after my phone call for exterior brick work and basement work in a historic 1908 home. He was by far the best bid and my neighbor had used him to build a beautiful retaining wall, so it was a no-brainer to go with him over others. We started with just the basement work - the bottom 2-3 feet of mortar and some bricks were crumbling. He not only fixed the work in his proposal, but went above and beyond and fixed another area that was in really bad shape...and didn't even charge me for any of the "other" work. One of the best parts - they cleaned up really well (which having worked with a few contractors is huge). I didn't even have to get out the vacuum after they left it looked so nice. We have had tuck-pointing done on our brick tudor over the years and until we met George we had no idea what should have been done to match the texture, color and grit of the mortar on our older home. The crew redid about 35% of the rotting mortar between our bricks including on the tallest parts of our chimney. They completed the whole job in two days and you can't tell the difference between the original brick lines and the newly renovated sections. They came out, did the tuck pointing and masonry repair at the price they quoted and did an amazing job. Bonus points for getting our job done EARLIER than expected and for George being so nice to my wife and daughter (2 year old) who loved watching him work. What actually sold me on using them was he was the only mason we got a quote from that also mentioned repairing our front steps to our house. The steps were a very small job that I thought I'd just try to repair myself but when they noticed them, they said, "hey, we'll take care of those as well since we're going to be here." Completely unprofessional. We scheduled an appointment for today and didn't show up. It wasn't even me who picked the date, I gave George my availability and he is the one that picked it! Not only he did not show up but when he returned my call close to 7 hours later, he didn't even recognize my name. I have a masonry garage that is 70+ years old, and the footers were crumbling, causing wall failure and leakage. I thought that I would need a structural engineer to design a fix, and had Georgios Bebekas/Masonry Restoration evaluate the issues. He and his very expert crew handled the footer-to-roof wall replacement without the need for an engineer, completed the work on time (four days), providing a first-class job throughout the process.
