Brand new and fresh out the box, but this place knows its stuff. Beers were on point and delicious. Food was beyond our expectations and absolutely delicious. Double BBQ Bacon Smash burger was the way to go! Wife ordered a salad that looked like they gave her the whole farm it was that big. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back again in the next few days!

It was only another 15 minutes past Herr's and the reviews were stellar. We ordered some beers, it's really refreshing to see breweries that brew for the season, not just pump out hazy IPAs. We ordered a brown ale and a red ale, both were top notch! So glad I remembered to grab our growler before we left the house. We were able to take home a delicious 64oz of beer to have later. I ordered the chicken and waffles... One of the best versions of this classic I've had. Came with a blueberry sauce and the hostess suggested I get some hot sauce too... Perfect sweet, spicy, crunchy chicken over a pillowy waffle. Daughter got the kids chicken sandwich and everyone else got specials. It was a delicious meal. Nothing fancy but really tasty. They had trivia going on the big projector but we didn't partake. They had a small stage with toys on it where my daughter played and did some coloring before our food came out. The staff was super friendly, and was able to satisfy all of our questions about the menu and offer suggestions when people were on the fence. I do not see us coming back often however if we are even remotely close to the bog turtle I'm going to be sure we stop in!

I stopped by here yesterday with my family for dinner. We had ridden the Strasburg Railroad earlier…read morein the day and were looking for a place to eat when I fired up Yelp and found the Tavern by Spring House Brewing. It is located on East Main Street in downtown Strasburg. The inside consists of a large main room with an L shaped bar, a number of TVs, and then a second dining room off to the side. Since no one was seated in the second room and we had twin four year olds with us, we chose that space. Unfortunately the TV in that room was broken, so we were not able to watch the Steelers game that was on. Aside from that, the room itself had a cozy and slightly eclectic feel. There was a decorated Christmas tree lit up in the corner near the staircase which gave the space a warm seasonal vibe. The walls were decorated with brewery signs and beer themed banners, and a bright yellow decorative mantel stood out against the darker wall colors. Overall it felt casual and welcoming and worked well for a family dinner. For dinner on this evening I went with the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak while my wife chose the K Town Mac Bowl. The menu described my wife's dish as three cheese cavatappi pasta with smoked pork slaw, Korean BBQ drizzle, sesame seeds, and scallions. My sandwich was described as smoked chicken, American cheese, buffalo sauce, gorgonzola, onion frizzles, ranch drizzle, and a hoagie roll. I thought my sandwich ended up being good, especially since it was chock full of chicken. The hoagie roll was toasted and buttered nicely and added a good crunch, which the onion frizzles helped reinforce. The gorgonzola added a nice pungent pop of flavor. While I did get some buffalo flavor, I definitely could have used more. Because of that, the sandwich was a little on the drier side despite having cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch drizzle. My fries were seasoned and had a nice texture, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I decided to go with a flight here. At Spring House Brewing, a flight consists of four beers and I chose the Cucumber Salamander, Backroads Shadows, Daily Planet, and Love and Rockets. The Love and Rockets ended up getting mixed up and I was instead served Grease the Poles. I started with the Cucumber Salamander, which is a sour. It was a bit tart right from the start and that carried through to the finish, with a little extra pucker at the end. Up next was Backroads Shadows, a lager with a crisp, clean start before the malts came through on the finish. This felt like a really good easy drinking beer. Third was Daily Planet, an IPA that had citrus up front followed by a solid hop presence that carried through the finish. Last was Grease the Poles, a pale lager that started off very clean before finishing with some lighter hop notes. Out of the bunch, the Cucumber Salamander was definitely my favorite. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Our food and drinks were good, and I would be interested in trying more of their beers.

Looked like there was only 2 servers for the entire place which was busy. My husband liked his chili, so that's the two star review. He said it had a lot of flavor. I had the brisket sandwich which was very small for the price with not a lot of meat. The meat had no flavor at all. Was not served with the au ju, which I had to ask for. Unfortunately, the au ju did not make it any better. The Cole slaw had a good flavor and was not sweet, so that was the best part of the food.

Our first stop of the day was Rumspringa Brewery which I had been to about 12 years prior, just before I started yelping. It's co located with my hope wine gallery. The taproom itself has bright wood floors which dominate the color scheme and then there is merchandise all around the room including sweatshirts and beer to go. Finally there are pictures of Amish country on one of the walls which is fitting. I went with a flight here As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery. At rumspringa it consists of 5 beers for $15. I chose the harvest gold, red caboose, otra mas, altbier and finally the blood orange cider. For my first beer I started with the Harvest gold which was a nice malty beer with lots of flavor and a clean finish. Second was the Red caboose which tasted like a nice brown with some hops on the front and a nice caramelly flavor on the finish. Up third was the Otra mas which had a smooth start with a sort of malty and sour type finish all rolled into one. I don't think I have had a beer like this in a long time and it wasn't my favorite. Fourth was the altbier which also had a smooth start with a deep rich flavor on the finish. It was a really nicely flavored beer and my favorite of the bunch. Last but certainly not least was the Blood orange cider which was sweet from the start with a bit of fruit at the finish. I don't know that I could have told you it was blood orange until the end of the aftertaste which had almost a perfume like taste of it. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. It doesn't seem like you are going to get any supper hoppy or trendy beers here and that's ok as they are doing good with more traditional recipes.

There goes my dream of the Amish stomping on the grapes like in old France. The place also was severely understaffed. One poor woman was up and down those stairs trying to do the job of three people. Will be back to try the spirits.
