If you are like me you don't like doing negative reviews, but this is a safety warning. Stuart Scuba received mixed reviews from the locals, but I dropped off 8 tanks for hydro/vip along with six first/second stage regs for service. I booked an afternoon dive on their boat. An hour after I left Stuart's shop, I was pre-checking gear, and the first stage atomic titanium was failing by blowing gas out the swivel between the HP/LP sections of the regulator. I swapped the first stages, got on the boat, then I had an ocean reef full face mask fail due to being unable to blow air out the mask due to a stuck valve. Both of these service failures could have been detected if proper post-service testing was performed on the equipment. I demonstrated the problem to the owner's wife so that she could personally examine the titanium first stage failure. She suggested that I return to the shop, but after two regulator failures, the service being careless/reckless...untested... I chose not to let Stuart Scuba re-service the gear. The shop owner and I later traded a couple of emails. He blamed the problems on me. Read off his list of credentials etc. I was surprised. No questions, just defensive behavior. I will have to get the regulators re-serviced. I paid the shop owners $861 for service, offered them the opportunity to refund the regulator service, they chose not to. I got eight cylinders filled in the shop. The first one I tested was at 38% and marked at 32%. I had the shop analyze the mix on their analyzer, 37.7%. I pointed out the ask and label was for 32%, the mix was 38%, and they I got a lecture about MOD, what the boat's afternoon dive depth was... The correct response should have been, "we made a mistake, let's get these cylinders checked and correctly marked." (watch for cold fills at the shop also). My wife and I moved to Florida five years ago. I've been diving South of Jupiter/Tampa areas out to the keys routinely now. The diving is great, divers are great, and there are plenty of solid shops and operations. I don't recommend Stuart Scuba LLC. There appears to be a safety/culture/ego issue at this shop, so I recommend that potential customers consider other. read more

Divers ranged in age from 22-73 and nothing but positive vibes and laughter. We did group dinners,, shared pictures, laughs, experiences and left as friends. I recently went on the Stuart Scuba Honduras trip in June 2026, and I came home a better diver than when I arrived. Before the trip I wasn't the biggest fan of diving, but I left counting down the days until I could dive again. Our Divemaster, Chris, was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. He made me feel safe and confident throughout every dive in Honduras, especially during the night dive. Although our group included people of all ages and experience levels, (myself being the worst diver) everyone got along wonderfully. Everyone was very patient with me, which I appreciated. We enjoyed dinners, happy hours, and excursions together! This was truly one of the best trips I've ever taken, and I'm so grateful to Stuart Scuba for such an unforgettable experience. read more

Learning to scuba dive for me at 67 and my husband at 68 years old was a totally new experience for us. Stuart Scuba was the perfect place to learn! The staff is extremely professional and competent putting safety first. The entire staff from retail employees to the instructors, owners and boat crew are truly wonderful and experts in regard to diving. They outfitted us with usable gear that suited our needs and wants. My husband was certified without any issues. The final dives of 60' in the open ocean caused me a little anxiety but the staff at Stuart Scuba got me through. Nick B my instructor for the final dives has a fantastic personality, a sense of kindness and calm demeanor which put me at ease so quickly. Yet he has a strong sense of safety making sure I understood the entire process of these open water dives. The Boat Crew of Shannon, Chris, Trister, and Brandon also were extremely wonderful in their encouragement and doing their jobs very professionally. I cannot commend them enough. I was certified yesterday and had the most wonderful experience. I can sincerely recommend Stuart Scuba for all your scuba needs from retail items to learning to dive. The dive shop is on Federal Highway in Stuart, in the middle of a small shopping strip. The staff at the store are friendly and knowledgeable about all things scuba-related. Great service techs at the shop who can quickly diagnose and fix equipment issues. Lots of quality instructors available for classes ranging from 'discover scuba' through technical and rebreather courses. The boats generally go out of Riviera Beach Marina, about 45-50 minutes south of the shop. The ship captains really know their dive sites, and the boat crew is outstanding. There is a dive guide on every trip (unlike some dive operations), and all diving is drift diving. I've been on probably 40 dives with this operator and I recommend them highly. read more

Been several times diving with Stuart Scuba. Their dive sites are a bit of a drive from home, but there is so much to see at their sites that it's worth it. The crew is friendly and as hands on or hands off prepping your gear as you want them to be. This is nice when you have a mix or pros and newbies who need the extra help and care. The smaller boats mean you are not on a massive tour boat with too many people. Instead, smaller groups so that you can really enjoy the scene. Great boat to dive on! Friendly and helpful crew will accommodate you with whatever you need, and yes.. they carry your tanks and gear to and from the boat! The captain really knows the local water, reefs and wrecks and will take good care of you. Boat handles a good sized group of divers pretty well, and they do allow lionfish hunters on board with spears... as well as lobster hunters. Not sure about speargun activity. Water, snacks and some canned beverages come with the trip also. They also have a fresh water rinse hose to get the salt off after diving. They are a little bit hard to find since the dock is basically at a vacant piece of land that fronts the channel. But it is basically next door to Beach Water sports. Well worth the trip... some great dives with this boat. read more

We dove with Stuart Scuba yesterday. We have never dove before in the Stuart Florida area. We were told the dive was a lobster hunting dive. We did not want to hunt lobster but we were told that we would be dropped by reefs and that there would be plenty to see. We also were never told that we would be doing a drift dive. The first spot we were dropped at was not even a reef it was called the Sahara it was just a bunch of sand no reef no coral no fish. only 3 people found lobster even the seasoned divers did not like the spot. My girlfriend and the kids and I tried to stay by the boat we didnt know we could drift. We stayed as close as we could swimming the whole time against the current not knowing that we could be picked up and that we were allowed to drift. it was exhausting the second dive was a reef dive which was much nicer but it was raining and it was very bad lighting they were bringing up small lobster and lobster with eggs which they should not have taken. Today we were supposed to dive with them again. we arrived at 1:20 p.m. for a 1:30 departure and they had already left another dive boat in the area said they left at 1 p.m. so they basically left without us we have a receipt that said a 1:30 departure we called the shop and they were completely nasty to us. This was not my best diving experience and I have been diving since 1985. I would not recommend these guys there are far better more courteous dive shops out there they could have taken a minute to explain the nature of the dive to us they knew we were new people and we were not one of the regular click of divers that went out with them there was no dive briefing or safety briefing given and as I said before they never explained to us that it was a drift dive so we looked like a bunch of idiots trying to swim against the current because we were afraid to go too far away from the boat on the first dive. read more

I've been diving for over 25 years and completed my TDI Advanced Nitrox / Deco procedures course last month with Stuart's tech instructor Shawn Robotka. I was beyond impressed with the team's professionalism, boat and facility operations and overall care of their students. Shawn is an amazing instructor. Beyond thoughtful, very detail orientated and brought a lifetime of diving experience to our program. He went above and beyond - sharing knowledge from some of the latest publications @ DAN + Duke on other topics where the standard TDI manual stops. If anyone is considering technical diving and a deco procedure class + track towards rebreathers or Trimix etc - I'd highly recommend they chat with Shawn and stop by Stuart. I had given Stuart Scuba a sum of money for a trip to Cozumel. The trip was cancelled due to the Coronavirus (completely understandable). I was told 3 weeks ago, I would have a refund. Still no refund. Every time I inquired, I was told "this week." I have been told that twice. I fully recognize these are unique times, but when a refund is promised and there are no phone calls, or emails with updates, that becomes a problem when you are taking other people's money. read more

I asked about tank refills(nitrox), currently $9/80cuft... went to bring them in and the person who greeted me noticed my military license plates and he said they give a 10% discount. I wanted to complete my VIP instructor course with TDI. I completed the online VIP course and completed hands on and VIP instructor course with Stuart Dive shop in Stuart FL. I paid over $400 for the training. I never received any certification from the dive shop. I emailed and called many times without any results. First they told me I needed 3 months of experience to process my certification. After 3 months I call and email again and they told me I needed six months of experience then they can process my certifications. Now is over six months and they don't even reply my emails. I don't know what else to do. I'm the only repair technician at Naval Base Guantanamo, Cuba and I would like to certified some of the staff but after paying for training I can't even do that. read more
