We took the boater certification for the…read moretwo 18 year olds in the group and after a quick demo, one of Bret's crew took us on a quick tour to show us the area and where to go and not go. They also gave us a few free waters. We had 8 people with us and we got 2 wave-runners for 2 hours so people took turns. Just down to the left, you can see Tiger Wood's compound (mostly the walls security cameras and his boat) but you have to go in a no wake zone for a few minutes to get there. Still pretty cool. I recommend going fast for the first part and if you have time check out Tiger's house on the water! Remember to bring cash for tipping the crew - they are very helpful and deserve it.

it's no easy feat to please a crew of 9 ranging in age from 4 years to 66...let alone leave lasting…read morememories on all for years to come!! our 3 hour boat tour and guide started off with a splash; as we watched pod upon pod of dolphins breach, jump, swim, play with their food and eat ! off we went to find a shipwreck and barren island....full of clay-like sand, surrounded by mangroves. then onto a gorgeous tour of the Stuart waterfront homes to slip and sliding off the boat into the magical waters below....we didn't skip a beat. jarrod was a pleasure...we did not want the afternoon to end on his meticulous and cozy boat....but, know there will be many more adventures to come each winter as we visit family in sunny North Hutchinson Island, Fl. only gripe.....hoping the novelty wears off soon, so our three daughters stop asking for their own boat !!

Enter Native Water Sports! We've seen the store several times but never went it. We decided to go and we are so glad we did. Ted, the owner and operator, graciously helped us get the proper parts and told us he'd call us back to the store once received. About a week later, the parts were here, and Ted and my husband arranged a time at the shop. He not only helped install the rack to ensure that it was safely mounted, but he also showed my husband how he did it and was very hands-on! It took them about one and a half hours - and we were good to go. He showed us how to use the straps, how to take the pads off/on, etc. You can absolutely tell Ted is a well seasoned professional kayak guy - not only that, but he's friendly and just a genuinely nice person. I actually had decision burn-out, as I went in sleepy, not knowing how they expanded this store greatly since my last visit! I left with some super cute accessories but I am considering going back before I had back up North to buy something else while I am not half-asleep! And maybe a super cute and soft towel even though there's no good beaches up north, but the towels were just that beautiful and buttery soft! The river is an estuary with the most diverse aquatic wildlife in the country. Maddy has a masters degree in marine biology and leads wonderful tours of the area, where you can see dolphins, manatees and birds as well as plant life. If you have never kayaked before this is a good place to start. You'll receive excellent instruction on technique and safety. Equipment is in excellent shape. If you're visiting Vero Beach, I highly recommend you spend some time here.
