A friend…read moreinvited me to join the ECO Mangrove Paddle Tour on a Sunday morning and it's the best thing I did on my trip to Florida. Lisa is patient, a great instructor and makes sure you experience the nature - the spider crabs, the sounds of the mussels, the ospreys and more. Even with beginners, she was able to adapt the tour to accommodate. There was a young woman who hadn't paddled before and Lisa and her assistants kept an eye on her, coached her and even adjusted her equipment to make her paddle even more successful. The assistants are a notable feature. Lisa told us that any time they have a group of 5 or more she has at least one of these experienced paddlers as an assistant. These assistants bring up the back and monitor the group to adapt to speed, take photos, encourage and guide. I highly recommend this tour, whether you're an experienced paddler, have your own board, or need to use the very high quality equipment they provide. The next time I'm in town I plan to take the tour again.

We ordered parts online for our car's specific make/model via the Yakima brand website, but after receiving the parts from our online order it was clear we needed some direction and assistance from a seasoned professional! Enter Native Water Sports! We've seen the store several times but never went it. We decided to go and we are so glad we did. Ted, the owner and operator, graciously helped us get the proper parts and told us he'd call us back to the store once received. About a week later, the parts were here, and Ted and my husband arranged a time at the shop. He not only helped install the rack to ensure that it was safely mounted, but he also showed my husband how he did it and was very hands-on! It took them about one and a half hours - and we were good to go. He showed us how to use the straps, how to take the pads off/on, etc. You can absolutely tell Ted is a well seasoned professional kayak guy - not only that, but he's friendly and just a genuinely nice person. For any kayak needs - car racks, life jackets, kayaks, and pretty much any kayak accessory known to man - Ted is your guy for honest help!

(Unless of course you sign up for a class, which according to their website is available). We went on the groupon deal, $30 for a day of soft top paddle boarding. They told us at the desk that if you come in and tell them you want the groupon deal, they'll give it to you, but it's better to pay them directly (vs Groupon) since they will receive a greater percentage of that money! Overall we had a great time with great equipment, and at a great price!

Using customers to do so, canceling on them the last minute... it's not ok. Very poor experience.

It was easy to see the company truck by the launching area on the on the Indian river lagoon. There were life vest and small lights for us to be able to see the other members of the group while paddling in the dark. We paddled to horseshoe crab island and got to see dolphins a couple of times. Overall is pretty dark so mostly you see them around. Our guide was Jordan. He was great! We could not have asked for a better guide. He gave us instructions on how to stay safe, and what to expect during the tour. He also worked hard to communicate with the group while in the water, and made sure that the group stayed together the whole time. He has the right personality for the job making our experience easy and fun. We could see the bioluminescence phenomenon what was pretty incredible. I wish we could have Good pictures of it but unfortunately they don't turn out good. Bring bug spray ! Lots of mosquitos!
