I brought my toddler here today to see Dr. Min. The office and exam room was clean and tidy. Parking is limited because several doctors share the building, but there is also some residential street parking with a short walk. The front desk staff were all friendly, and Dr. Min was very knowledgeable and informative. He asked about our concerns and was very patient. My daughter was pretty scared initially, so I was really thankful he just sat and spoke to her and me initially. We will have to return again later for testing, but I am thankful the staff and Dr. Min made her first visit less scary, so it will be easier for me to get her to come back next time. read more

Dr. Min is always very professional and does super well with the kids. See's my son for a food allergy and now asthma. My child's pediatrician and another doctor was reluctant to give my son an inhaler. They would keep telling me he will outgrow it and that its allergies, not asthma. I have both allergies & asthma myself and it breaks my heart when I know how my son feels when he could not stop coughing and I would hear him wheeze. I finally request an authorization to see Dr. Min again after 6 months of his unresolved condition. Immediately with confidence and without any hesitation, Dr. Min said it is asthma due to symptoms, its effectiveness of treatments and failed resolution the past 6 months. In which his regular pediatrician had kept saying its allergies. He switched my sons treatments thats will make it more tolerable for a little toddler who usually has difficulty sitting still plus other test for further evaluation. He understands what parents go through being a parent himself. He is very patient and explains the different medication and how they work also which its truly hard to find many doctors that do that nowadays. Since then, my son has not coughed one bit, has more energy for activities and not tired to finish his food. It was a domino effect of problems that occured all because of delayed treatment and control of his asthma. In a way, i am very sad my child suffered for months, sad he now has asthma but glad we know whats wrong and taking actions to control it. I could not Thank Dr. Min enough!! Brought my teen to see him for her skin conditions and after seeing other doctors including her primary, he was able to diagnose it and gave her some tips to manage the condition. Dr. Min genuinely cares about his patients and takes the time to listen, and asks pertinent questions. Good man! Nice staff, too. Dr. Min and his staff are great - they deserve 5 stars. The downside is they are honestly too busy or understaffed. I have been coming here for my allergy shot, and for those of you who don't know, this requires frequently coming in (at least once a week, and I have been coming in at least twice). I am generally their first patient once they open in the morning, but sometimes they have me waiting over 30min in order to spend 30 seconds to administer a shot. Additionally, you are advised to stay another 20min after you get the shot (in case of any serious reactions), which means you can be here for up to an hour with most of the time spent just waiting around. You do have to option to go against medical advice and leave right after your shot. I have done this a few times and then drive to work but then I have this slight fear that I will have a major reaction and crash (thankfully this hasn't happened). My point is that if you have a very flexible schedule or don't mind long waits, then I'd recommend getting your shots here. Otherwise, it's pretty difficult for someone who works a 9-5 job to accommodate the shots into their schedule. read more

Allergies seem to run in my family and Dr Min has been such a saint in helping us figure out our issues. My father went to see him first and I was so impressed with Dr Min's genuine concern for his wellbeing. My dad's allergies have been a mystery for years and Dr Min was able to help us understand the most likely causes better than any other allergist or dermatologist. Dr. Min was so kind to my 5 year old son. He made him feel at ease immediately. The office staff was super friendly and was extremely professional. Our boy has been sneezing with little improvement from OTC antihistamines. We never thought he could have a dust mite allergy as we are super clean people. I requested to have a blood test to test for allergies. I clearly had told Dr. Min that I previously had been tested for environmental allergies and was seeking to get tested for food allergies. I don't know where the communication got lost but he ordered a test for environmental allergies and unbeknownst to me, I went ahead I got the test. I went back to Dr. Min's office a few weeks later to get my results and of course , this is when I find out that I was given a test I didn't need. So now I'm out over $200 for the test and money I paid for the office visits to see Dr. Min. I'm truly upset that I had to pay all this money and got no answers in the end. read more

After confirmation with the blood test, I had to face the reality, knowing allergy shots is my only option. Dr. Min is extremely knowledgeable and patient. He answers all my questions and concerns regarding to my treatments and even went over options with the payments, detail by detail. The only down fall is when it comes to scheduling an appointment, its usually one month+ away. Perhaps if it's urgent, they'll probably prioritize your appointment. Regardless of the wait, Dr. Min is still worth your time simply because he takes his time and not like majority of the doctors where they rush you out the door. Omigosh, Dr. Min almost makes me WISH I had an allergy so I could see him! I messaged him regarding questions about whether my son should see him for a consult b/c of a string of possible autoimmune issues. Dr Min is the doc to go to for eczema/allergies. My baby's eczema came on at around 2 months. By his 3rd month it was full blown. He was miserable and couldn't sleep because he was so itchy. I contacted Dr Min and he very patiently answered all of my questions. He went through different options that I could try on my baby. I tried many different steps to help my baby find relief and Dr Min was there to guide us every step of the way! 3 months later, My baby's skin has cleared up and he is a completely different (happy) baby! Scheduled my appointment two weeks in advance. Arrived 45 mins early to my appointment to fill out my paperwork. Signed their paperwork that asked type of payment which said, cash, check and credit card. Checked the credit card box and was then told "sorry we do not accept credit card". Why even have it as an option on your paperwork? Not once was I notified it was cash/check only. Not when I scheduled the appointment. My experiences with allergists in the past have been lacking, at best. I am allergic to cats and have sneezing and runny nose after stays in hotels. It does not help that I travel quite a bit for work and its hard to avoid the hotel air. Zyrtec and sinus rinses reduced the symptoms but never quite suppressed them. A friend referred me to Dr. Min and by far the best 30 minutes I have spent with a doctor. He listened patiently, explained in simple terms what has been happening and what options I could consider. The new medication that he prescribed works like a charm. Its been four weeks and I have not had any issues whatsoever; this is new to me! Dr. Min is awesome. We brought our daughter in to look at a chronic cough. Our pediatrician chalked it up to being at daycare and didn't do much for her but we were still concerned. After many appointments with other pediatricians and ENT doctors, Dr. Min was the first doctor to figure out what was going on. The staffs here just don't care. I've waited for 45 minutes to get my shot with an appointment. Here some examples of my weekly allergy shot experiences. July 30, '18: I called at 11AM to make appointment before 5PM, but they emailed I have appointment at 3:45PM. I asked "before 5PM", not 3:45PM. I took 15 minutes pay-cut to leave early from work. As I arrived around 4:50PM, the waiting room was empty. A little boy who arrived 5 minutes after me, already got his shots at 5:05PM. I went to the front desk & asked why the boy already got his shots, a (Hispanic) clerk said she would find out (she never followed up). 5:18 PM I went to the front desk for the second time, I said it's almost 30 minutes already. I was the only patient there & still no one bother to administer the shots that only takes seconds. When finally I got my shot after waiting more than 30 minutes, I thought I would get my preferred nurse, but no. I don't know why they made me wait for so long, if I would get a nurse who not only made my skin was swollen from the shots, but also black & blue. I asked her why I had to wait 30 minutes & the boy got his shots before me? She said she didn't have my paperwork & I shouldn't get the shots because the doctor wasn't there. What? I made appointment 6 hours before, nobody told me that I couldn't get the shot & why they couldn't prepare the paperwork in 6 hours? (Compare to when I went to Foothill Allergy Center in Arcadia, I don't have to call to make appointments & they always had my shots ready. The waiting time at Foothill was 2-10 minutes only). Here, they required me to arrive before 5PM, but then they called me in after 5:20PM. I sacrificed a pay cut to leave early for what? Another problem, their Medical Group, Allied Pacific of CA, charged my $10 Copay for the shot, which is supposed to be free, per my insurance benefit. They said is for doctor visit. Hey, I don't see a doctor, only a nurse! (I never had to pay Copay with Foothill Allergy Center, they have Regal as their Medical Group). August 6, '18: a Hispanic nurse administered the most PAINFUL allergy shots ever! Because this place is also an urgent care, they have no designated nurse to specialize in delivering the shot (not like in Foothill Allergy Center, they have 1 nurse & this nurse only to administer the shots). August 20, '18: I made an appointment for 11AM with someone named "Angel" by phone. When I arrived, they said I had no appointment & no one knew "Angel". After waiting 25 minutes, I asked the front desk when would I get my shot & told them I had appointment with my dentist at 12PM in South Pasadena. 11:40AM I went to the front desk for the third times, telling them over & over again about my dentist appointment. I was completely ignored. The 2 clerks kept their conversation about how much they should bill a patient. I was about to leave & I told them I would give a 1 star review at Yelp, when an Asian nurse who just happened to be there, told me I would get my shot right away. Last Monday, halfway through the work day, I started developing this weird rash all over my stomach. By mid-afternoon it had spread to my legs and arms- this rash was on a roll. I tried using some over-the-counter allergy medications (zyrtec, some anti-itch cream) which didn't help at all. I tried my best to stay focused and get through the workday, but that was pretty hard as I was itching like crazy. At the start of Rash Day 2, I knew I needed professional help. A friend recommended I see Dr. Min. His office was able to squeeze me in that same day (Thank You!). I could not have been happier with my experience. Dr. Min was very thorough, patient, and knowledgeable. Just by looking at my blotchy skin, he was able to tell me the potential causes of the rash. Dr. Min dissuaded me from getting unnecessary (and potentially costly) tests or drastically changing my diet, but instead prescribed me medication to quickly make the rash go away. Sure enough, within a few days, the rash was completely gone, and I was back to my normal itch-free life again. Dr. Min even called me back on his own over the next few days to check in on me which seems to be really rare with doctors nowadays! I really appreciated the gesture. I am very, very new to this neighborhood, and am SO fortunate that I found Dr. Min. I just moved to the Monterey Hills neighborhood with my wife, and I started experiencing symptoms like sneezing and itchy, runny nose. In addition, my asthma was starting to act up. First thing to note is that Dr. Min has incredible bedside manner. He really made me feel very comfortable and was very patient with my many questions. He explained a lot of things that I hadn't previously been aware of. I had never known that a humidifier can actually make your dust mite allergies WORSE! He performed an environmental allergy panel and explained some helpful ways that I could treat and avoid future allergic reactions. Among other things, he showed me how to properly use my nasal spray (I'd always been doing it wrong!) and how important it really was to use it regularly. For my asthma, since I was only having wheezing when I exercised, he advised me to just use my albuterol before I exercised, and it's helped so much. Dr. Min explained how getting my allergies under control could really help my asthma as well. Most importantly, he actually called me weeks later to follow up to see how I was doing! That really meant a lot to me. Months later, I can say that I am no longer struggling with the same symptoms. My days go by without headaches or stuffiness, and it is nice to be able to enjoy the Monterey Hills neighborhood for what it is. I took my 21 month old to see Dr. Min today because of some acute hives that were formed on his hand and face. It was an emergency situation and my ped was booked for the day. Dr. Min's office squeezed my son in on a super busy day, and my son was a new patient too!! The front desk was friendly and efficient. By the time Dr. Min saw my son, the hives were mostly gone, but doc still examined him very patiently and thoroughly. He didn't just give us some generic answers to get us out the door. He was very friendly and answered all my questions. My son also loved him and didn't cry at all through the entire exam! He also got stickers on the way out! Dr. Min is knowledgeable and friendly! This review is on behalf of my fiancé (Will) who had an appointment I sat in on with Dr. Min. I am a nurse (RN) myself and just wanted to try to absorb as much medical info as possible to help Will figure out the best course of treatment. We found the office to be clean, newly renovated, and friendly. Will has horrible seasonal allergies and nasal congestion so need has been searching for a doctor that would help him with this issue. Dr. Min is informative, knowledgeable, patient, and has a very relaxed attitude. Also worth mentioning is he is against the patient doing costly, unnecessary test that cost a ton of money and are out of pocket. Will will go for a blood allergy test and try so nasal sprays. Kinda wish I could give Dr. Min 10 stars, but alas not an option. After struggling with random allergies for most of my adult life, I decided to actually see someone about it. I am so glad I finally did and that I saw Dr. Min. During our consultation, he was so patient and detail-oriented. I asked so many questions, probably more than most patients, because I am a bit OCD about this kind of stuff, and he took the time to answer each one in great detail. He also helped diagnose me with exercise induced urticaria and provided me with several options to address my facial hives. Although Dr. Min wasn't able to help my mom as her issues are beyond allergies and are so complex, he cared enough to review her files after their appointment and to check around with other colleagues. My experience with most doctors, if they say they can't help you, that's the end of that and there's no contact afterwards. He not only followed up with me weeks after their appointment and made some helpful suggestions; he also went above and beyond and sent a referral for my mom to be seen at USC dermatology. He couldn't directly help her with her issues, but he helped her by pointing me in the right direction and hopefully we're one step closer in helping my mom get better. When my son was about 10 months old, I fed him egg yolk for the first time and he had an allergic reaction by breaking out in hives all over his body and getting swollen ears and lips. When it was time for his MMR vaccine at 15 months, I brought him to Dr. Min because I had heard that the vaccine had an egg component and needed to be administered by an allergist. Dr. Min informed me that there is actually no need to worry about giving my son the vaccine with an egg allergy because it is made in chick embryo cell cultures and has minimal egg content. He also referred me to an article in the New England Journal of Medicine concluding that it is safe to administer the MMR vaccine to children with egg allergies. Thanks to Dr. Min's expert and up-to-date knowledge, my son was able to get the vaccine as he normally would at his pediatrician's office with no reaction or complications. Dr. Min was great at listening to our issue, asking the right questions and thoroughly explaining why the vaccine was safe for our son. I'm so glad he corrected my misconception and saved us extra time and hassle. I will definitely continue to seek his advice regarding my son's allergy in the future.
