Dr. McCormick told me on my first visit/checkup that I needed four fillings, and so I made an appointment for him to complete the work. I was not given a cost estimate before my appointment. Then during the appointment, without informing me, he performed 6 fillings (instead of 4), causing me to go over my insurance limit. This was especially infuriating as it was at the end of the insurance year (December) and so if I needed additional work I could have come in a few weeks later. I had a $500 bill at the time of service I was not expecting, as Dr. McCormick also did not inform me he only does resin fillings, which are not covered at 100% by my insurance (as are silver amalgam fillings). Furthermore, one of the fillings he did was very deep and led to later complications (abscess, root canal and crown, which I had performed by another dentist). While I know this can occur even in well-done fillings, the unprofessional nature surrounding the treatment I received makes me question the quality of the work he performed on me. I especially question it as he seemed very rushed to finish my work and kept getting called to other patients. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. I advise everyone to go a block down the road to Madison Family Dental instead. read more
