Setting up the appointment was easy and received plenty of reminders leading up to it. Checking in was easy as well, bit of paperwork, but that's normal. The waiting lobby itself is nice, with a few toys and books for the kids and a movie set up as well. Love the theme here - definitely giving nature and PNW vibes! The assistant that helped with my son's teeth cleaning was great with him and really nice. The dentist himself was a little more reserved but still provided good care and advice. Of course my son loved the final touch of being able to pick out a toy at the end for doing a good job. I'm coming back in a couple of weeks with my older kids for their first appointments here and I'm sure it'll go just as well!

If you have children with special needs DO NOT take them here. My family has been going here for 12…read moreyear, my oldest started going here when she was just 1 year old, and we've never had an issue. Until today. I have 2 children with special needs, autism and ADHD. Today my son (six) had an appointment to get a filling. It was supposed to be a light sedation appointment which we were told no food or drink 8 hours prior to his appointment which we abided by. When we got into his appointment he was supposed to drink the medication that would make him sleepy (it's liquid and doesn't taste very good) as some may know, but some may not, texture- taste- the look of something- not understanding why- and many other things can be hard for children with autism and ADHD my son tasted the drink and almost immediately vomited. And at that moment there was no way he was going to decide to drink the medication. They gave him a little water to wash it down with but he still didn't want to take it. I asked if I could put some water flavor in it (like mio) and was told no but understood because maybe that would affect the medicine. I then asked if he could have a mint after he took it and he as also told no, then for one last stitch effort I asked if I could just rub the mint on his tongue so that yucky flavor wouldn't be there anymore. I was also told no. At no point in time did the doctor or the nurse attempt to help me explain to my son why he needed to take it, why it would help, or anything. At this point I asked if instead of doing the sedation medication if we could pivot into doing just the laughing gas because maybe it would be easier to explain to him and he wouldn't have to drink the medication. At that point in time the doctor said to me that my son was "too wiggly and too bad" and needed to be put to sleep for his procedure all while my son is hiding in the corner because at this point we're at an hour of sitting while I try to talk him into taking the medicine. When I asked the doctor what he expected from my son who has autism and severe ADHD and didn't take his ADHD medicine I was then told I could have given him his ADHD medicine before his appointment but I never was. Not at the phone call prior to his appointment, not before we checked in nothing. No I was told nothing to eat or drink 9 hours before his appointment and to not even brush his teeth. To which the doctor again told me my son was too bad, didn't know how to listen and moved around too much to be able to do the appointment without him taking the medicine. I'm not really sure how a medical professional can have such an obvious bias against children with special needs or to automatically label him as having behavioral issues but it was absolutely disgusting. So if your children are "normal" and "easy" by all means take them here. But if you don't want to leave the office in tears wondering why people insist on telling you you're children are not allowed to exist in a world they're a little different then anyone else in I wouldn't suggest it. We will never be back. I canceled every upcoming appointment before we left and we'll be finding a new dentist. Do better.

I will never go to another dentist! About 10 years ago on…read more4th of July weekend I started getting a really bad toothache. I was trying tylenol/ibuprofen, numbing gels.. all of it! Nothing was helping. I called Light Dental and they were of course closed but I left a VM and the dr on call called me back and said he could meet me in an hour. I got there and he said "your face is starting to swell, you have an infected tooth" he couldn't fully take care of it then because he didnt have an assistant there but he cleaned out the infection and sent me home with a prescription and I scheduled an appointment to come back later to get the actual problem taken care of. Ever since then, I recommend Light Dental Studios to everyone! I have had teeth pulled (including my wisdom teeth), root canals, cleanings, and even have taken my daughter there since she got her first teeth. They are always so kind and I have a huge fear of the dentist and they always make sure I'm comfortable and constantly check on me throughout it all. The best dentists around and I highly highly recommend!

The line was all the way down around the side of the building. As we walked up, they handed us a clipboard along with an assortment of donuts and coffee was available. I was freezing, my own fault tho for not thinking logically when it comes to Washington weather these days‍The line moved at a decent pace but even so Liz was sick of standing. Not but seconds later an employee was offering to not only hold your spot in line if anyone needed a bathroom break but also a folding chair for anyone needing to sit. This was quite the event. I was super impressed with the actual work they pulled off for the number of people that showed up, being ever so friendly all at the same time. They definitely earned a future patient here! . Dr. Opler is who helped the both of us even taking the time at the end to talk while not seeming rushed either, telling me about the other prosthodontist that would be able to help me with my implants in the future. I've included some pictures and the best I could come up with for before and after shots even tho I never did get a picture of my chipped front tooth without it being covered with that fake moldable plastic Ive been covering it up with for over a year! And I'll have to update this with a better after photo as soon as I get one! Thanks again to everyone at Light Dental Studios!! Hopefully sooner than later, you'll be seeing me again for more future work. You guys did great!!

I'm going to switch her dental care to the Is location also since she already is spending her time here for ortho. So far I am very impressed with everyone here. Thank you.

My son woke up with a very slight cough but had no other symptoms when we arrived. During the cleaning, his cough worsened, and instead of being treated with patience and understanding, I felt we were spoken to in a rude and disrespectful manner throughout the visit. The dentist appeared visibly uncomfortable around my son despite already wearing proper protective equipment, which made the situation more stressful and uncomfortable for him. At one point, I also felt there was a lack of care while using sharp dental instruments near his face, which was very concerning as a parent. What upset me most was the way my child was physically handled. Because my son was struggling to open his mouth as wide as requested, the dentist became forceful -- grabbing his face and jaw in a way I found inappropriate and overly aggressive for a pediatric dentist. Children need patience, compassion, reassurance, and gentleness during dental visits, especially when they are uncomfortable or nervous. At one point, I even requested to leave mid-appointment because the situation had become so uncomfortable. I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and bedside manner. I have never experienced anything like this at a pediatric dental office before, and I will be transferring my son's care elsewhere. Parents should feel confident that their children will be treated gently and respectfully, and unfortunately that was not our experience.

I explained he has sensory issues and asthma and can not wear a mask to which the front office lady got an attitude and told us he wouldn't be allowed in the play area without one. However, I didn't let this deter us from coming since their dentist is very nice and knowledgeable about my son's blood disorder. The dentist was great with both my kids. We saw them February 2023, and then again in November 2023. There was an issue with our insurance- we were told by front office staff that everything was good at the time of the appointment. However months later I got a collections bill. I immediately reached out to them and let them know I had never received a statement from them and was confused why we were sent to collections when they should've charged my insurance. Front Office staff was again less than pleasurable to speak to and very argumentative. I paid the collections off in full. Fast forward, I call to schedule a yearly appointment for my kids ( a few months late) and are told patients who have been sent to collections are not allowed to receive care there. I asked to speak to a manager and the front office staff said the only person to talk to is her. I asked who makes the policy and she said the Dr, I asked if we could ask the Dr for an exception since my son has a blood disorder that the Dr is familiar with and was told no that there aren't exceptions to the policy.
