I explained he has sensory issues and asthma and can not wear a mask to which the front office lady got an attitude and told us he wouldn't be allowed in the play area without one. However, I didn't let this deter us from coming since their dentist is very nice and knowledgeable about my son's blood disorder. The dentist was great with both my kids. We saw them February 2023, and then again in November 2023. There was an issue with our insurance- we were told by front office staff that everything was good at the time of the appointment. However months later I got a collections bill. I immediately reached out to them and let them know I had never received a statement from them and was confused why we were sent to collections when they should've charged my insurance. Front Office staff was again less than pleasurable to speak to and very argumentative. I paid the collections off in full. Fast forward, I call to schedule a yearly appointment for my kids ( a few months late) and are told patients who have been sent to collections are not allowed to receive care there. I asked to speak to a manager and the front office staff said the only person to talk to is her. I asked who makes the policy and she said the Dr, I asked if we could ask the Dr for an exception since my son has a blood disorder that the Dr is familiar with and was told no that there aren't exceptions to the policy.

My son woke up with a very slight cough but had no other symptoms when we arrived. During the cleaning, his cough worsened, and instead of being treated with patience and understanding, I felt we were spoken to in a rude and disrespectful manner throughout the visit. The dentist appeared visibly uncomfortable around my son despite already wearing proper protective equipment, which made the situation more stressful and uncomfortable for him. At one point, I also felt there was a lack of care while using sharp dental instruments near his face, which was very concerning as a parent. What upset me most was the way my child was physically handled. Because my son was struggling to open his mouth as wide as requested, the dentist became forceful -- grabbing his face and jaw in a way I found inappropriate and overly aggressive for a pediatric dentist. Children need patience, compassion, reassurance, and gentleness during dental visits, especially when they are uncomfortable or nervous. At one point, I even requested to leave mid-appointment because the situation had become so uncomfortable. I left feeling dismissed, disrespected, and extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism and bedside manner. I have never experienced anything like this at a pediatric dental office before, and I will be transferring my son's care elsewhere. Parents should feel confident that their children will be treated gently and respectfully, and unfortunately that was not our experience.

My two year old child has special medical needs, and I felt that the level of attention, concern, and respect for us was by far the best I could have asked for. The staff was professional and welcoming from the front desk, to the dentist himself (and everyone in between!) As a mother of a child with severe allergies, it is comforting to be able to have a real conversation where I didn't feel rushed, pressured, or like I was being forced into something that I wasn't comfortable with for my child. Scheduling over the phone was easy, and upon explaining the reason for our visit, we were given a time slot at the end of the day to ensure we could spend time with the dentist without interruption. We did a thorough conversation of the issues we were seeking a second opinion on, an oral exam, one x-ray (which we didn't get at our first dentist!) and a goodie bag for dental hygiene products and a childrens toy. The x-ray was shown to me, and I was also given the opportunity to look inside my child's mouth with assistance. I was never made to feel bad regarding the dental issues my child has, and was included in all aspects of the visit. I felt that the follow up plan was developed with my input and with significant care for my child and family. In addition, this dentist office is out of my insurance network, so I paid for service in full and was pleasantly surprised to discover that the costs are also reasonable and affordable. The office itself is clean, well lit, and conducive to a "playful" atmosphere for children. Having a private exam room for families that require more dialog made me feel at ease discussing my child's medical needs and history. I did not feel rushed at any point, and felt that the time spent with me was above and beyond, truly excellent service! If I could go to this pediatric dentist myself, I would in a heartbeat!

I won't name names (*cough cough Just For Kids Dental). Lol! But my daughter has been complaining about her teeth and so I figured it was time (Ik Ik it's terrible). Anyway my sister told me about this office and that the staff here were really nice. I called out today from work cause I was sick but figured I'd at least call kids choice to set up a future appt. From the phone call, to the appt I was definitely treated with respect. I spoke to an employee, Bailey, who was suuuuper nice, very welcoming, and made the process so simple. She even was able to get me an appt in the same day!! When I got to the office, they were very prompt, respectful, and very personable! Sweet ladies! As soon as I walked in the staff made me feel extremely comfortable. Especially leaving them to care for my children. My older son felt comfortable enough to walk back with the employee by himself. The reason why I think I love this office so much is how much my kids liked it as well. Autumn took care of us today and she was AWESOME! Both of my kids loved her! She is very personable not only with the children but with me as well! My daughter esp loooved her. She made my children feel at ease and was joking around with them. The dynamic and culture of this office definitely felt like family or old friends. Also, we were able to treat my son with SAME DAY TREATMENT for his teeth! Soo fast and easy! My daughter has another appt for next Friday! They were just on top of everything! Thank you sooo much for taking care of us today! You guys are awesome

After the second time, they referred us to the federal way location for liquid, oral Valium to sedate her for the procedure. We showed up for her consultation today and were rudely greeted by a sharp and impatient front desk staff member who told us they were running at least 15 minutes late. With no seating available we waited in the car. The same staff member called my phone when they were ready and rudely snapped that they were ready and then hung up on me mid sentence. When the dentist came into the room, he proceeded to say they wanted to intubate my daughter and give her IV meds for general anesthesia. FOR FILLINGS! I said absolutely not and explained the Puyallup dentist said oral medicine was the appropriate treatment plan. He asked if the dentist I spoke to was female and proceeded to throw her under the bus saying she has no idea what she's talking about. I explained that she DID know what she was talking about because they had used the same treatment plan of liquid Valium on my son in the past. He was hesitant and appeared visibly annoyed that I didn't want to put my daughter under general anesthesia for FILLINGS. He ultimately agreed to do Valium but then prescribed oral TABLETS for my 7 year old daughter without asking if she was even able to swallow pills, (which she's not). So then we had to wait even longer for him to modify the prescription. We just left their office feeling unsettled, our concerns as parents disregarded, and treated like burdens. The front office staff and the dentist were completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I have an appointment booked for October and will be trying in the meantime to find another dental office as I have zero confidence in these people and will never go back. I would have given NO STARS but it made me choose at least one.

Nothing was helping. I called Light Dental and they were of course closed but I left a VM and the dr on call called me back and said he could meet me in an hour. I got there and he said "your face is starting to swell, you have an infected tooth" he couldn't fully take care of it then because he didnt have an assistant there but he cleaned out the infection and sent me home with a prescription and I scheduled an appointment to come back later to get the actual problem taken care of. Ever since then, I recommend Light Dental Studios to everyone! I have had teeth pulled (including my wisdom teeth), root canals, cleanings, and even have taken my daughter there since she got her first teeth. They are always so kind and I have a huge fear of the dentist and they always make sure I'm comfortable and constantly check on me throughout it all. The best dentists around and I highly highly recommend!
