If I could give less than 1 star I would. I needed a radiator and transmission lines. I consulted…read morewith Robert Saunders, the owner of One Stop Automotive, before agreeing to do work. I clearly told him that I wanted OEM parts since the car has 195,000 miles on it. At first he said he bought a radiator but returned it. Without telling me, Robert Saunders bought Ford part, completely against what I told him I wanted. After he informed me of this, I again confirmed with him NOT to buy transmission line from Ford but instead OEM. AGAIN, without advance notice, he bought Ford from the dealer. And then charged double the cost. We had agreed the cost would be between $500-$700 before I agreed for him to work. He did give a good hourly rate at $50 hr because I volunteer and he benefits from my volunteer work. When I asked him any questions he screamed and yelled, was aggressive and belittling, asking me "are you a mechanic" and saying he's never been asked questions about what was beingWused for parts. When I asked to see the original receipts from Ford dealer for parts, he refused. So I called Ford myself. He broke Maine law by using parts I specifically told him I didn't want, by not informing me before he did, did not have my approval, refused to give me a receipt on his business receipts. And then was so verbally abusive using severe profanity, even knowing that the call was recorded (I have an international phone which automatically records all calls). I don't recommend this man. He was deceitful and did opposite of what he agreed to. And then shocked me with giving me a bill for $1457 with no advance notice that he was buying parts I didn't agree to. He's extremely short fused if you ask for info about work done. For example, he put stop leak in the radiator after installing a new radiator and transmission lines. When I asked why that was needed, he literally started screaming, calling me B_t_h, F__k, and other choice insults. Don't go there. There's never, ever any excuse for this. He's extremely short fused and . Hope this helps. I have the recordings if you think I'm exaggerating.

It was a pleasant surprise to find that the tire pressure monitor was reset, the invoice was thorough, and the customer service was immaculate.

As I slowly rolled into a nearby parking lot, I immediately called AAA for a tow (these guys are the local AAA towing company). I didn't know what the issue was but my car was overheating and the engine light had gone on. Arghhhhh!!! It was 4:30 on Sunday and I knew, that in Maine, there are no late night car repair shops (I'm from Ohio where you can find someone to work on your car until midnight). I opened the hood and sure enough the belt to my water pump had broken (later I learned the water pump had gone bad causing the belt to split). So I sat there and waited. A series of events happened that don't pertain to this business, but eventually the tow truck driver showed up (I think his name was Bobby?) and he helped me out. We ended up taking my car to their repair shop. I was going on faith that I would have a good experience and that they could get my car fixed ASAP, the next day, so we could hit the road. I knew nothing about these guys other than they were close local and that "Bobby" worked for them. Well it wasn't quite ASAP, but they did get my car running the next day and they did a great job making sure it was road worthy again. I had a good experience and would return to them for more mechanic needs.
