If you've read more than one of my reviews, than you know I am a newer Windham resident. I don't know much about mechanics in the area and was unfortunate enough to have my car break down on 302, the day before a long driving trip to Tennessee. As I slowly rolled into a nearby parking lot, I immediately called AAA for a tow (these guys are the local AAA towing company). I didn't know what the issue was but my car was overheating and the engine light had gone on. Arghhhhh!!! It was 4:30 on Sunday and I knew, that in Maine, there are no late night car repair shops (I'm from Ohio where you can find someone to work on your car until midnight). I opened the hood and sure enough the belt to my water pump had broken (later I learned the water pump had gone bad causing the belt to split). So I sat there and waited. A series of events happened that don't pertain to this business, but eventually the tow truck driver showed up (I think his name was Bobby?) and he helped me out. We ended up taking my car to their repair shop. I was going on faith that I would have a good experience and that they could get my car fixed ASAP, the next day, so we could hit the road. I knew nothing about these guys other than they were close local and that "Bobby" worked for them. Well it wasn't quite ASAP, but they did get my car running the next day and they did a great job making sure it was road worthy again. I've taken my car to G & K Motors for 5 years now and I've always been 100% satisfied. The staff has always gone above and beyond to get my car in and out. It's a family business and I always feel like family when I walk in. I needed a second hand mirror and I asked them to help me find one. The gentleman didn't quit until he found one and kept communicating with me on his progress. Nobody I know would do that. Thank you, G & K Motors!! read more

I have had three different cars serviced here and have spent several thousand doing so. Brought my 80 year old mom's car in to see if they could help with some surface damage and a they were extremely snappy and rude. I heard them being condescending as well as I was leaving the shop. I understand that they are not a body shop but over the phone they said that they can possibly do these services for regular customers. Oh well. Looks like you lost two accounts.. read more

I went off the road in December. G&K arrived to tow me out after AAA was called. I was planning on taking my car to a shop in Westbrook (I know the owner). But when the G&K tower said they could fix everything (the other ship didn't do body work) I said okay! Now my insurance company took 2 weeks to get out there (I'm not impressed with them either). The shop then tells my insurance "we don't do body work, we can't fix the car" then they charge my insurance a $1,000 plus a $100 towing charge. Ummmm what!?! I have AAA so there should be no towing charge at all. And I was told they could fix it (when a shop fixes a car they usually forgive the storage fee, but since they couldn't fix it we had to pay). My car could have sat at the shop in Westbrook for no charge, why would I take it to G&K if I had that option, except that G&K said they could do all the work! I called to speak with someone. Ken answered and told me to "be quite" and said there wasn't anything he could do. I called back 10 minutes later and spoke with the owner. He said he would look into it. I never heard back. I can't give zero stars but that is what they deserve. I was in an accident when a deer ran in front of my car. The police came and were very helpful. Then the tow truck driver arrived. He said "deer huh? That's lucky." dripping in scarsam. I have never been more offended. And to top it off when I went to the mechanic it was towed to the car was ransacked. Wonderful business practices, insult you customer then steal from them. it is a bummer cause they are a AAA provider in that area. Will def think twice before calling AAA in the Windham area. The other interaction I had with them was another AAA call when I locked keys in my car. the driver showded up with 2 very young girls and no flash light (really!?!?). luckily the little girls had cell phones to hold up..... read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! If I could give zero stars that is the rating these unethical people deserve. My daughter had her car towed to this garage due to the fact her boyfriend's family had done business there in the past. The person they spoke to said they would call with an estimate. The next day they called to let my daughter know the car had been repaired and was ready for pick up. HUH... What about the quote and authorization to do the repair? To top things off when I called to find out where the miscommunication occurred the person I spoke with said that the office manager had called and got the go ahead to do the work. THIS NEVER HAPPENED!! These people are crooked liars and are not to be trusted. Very poor business practice! read more

Have been a regular customer for years until today. Lost the use of my AC last week. Blower went. Had them replace the motor, found water inside the motor. Cleaned and replaced cabin air filter found to have a nest inside. Left with ac working heard a noise going around block same day.Two days later took car for a long ride, noticed a flood on floor of front seat passenger floor of car.Clearly it's blocked. Stopped by next business day . Told " we don't fix leaks here" " need to go somewhere else". Didn't have leak inside car until they worked on my car. Was told to busy to fix. Returned with an appointment two days later there before shop opened. Was told " we are Way to busy to even try to look at it today" had an appointment for today. Was told the leak was there before they pulled motor out.clearly a lie. Motor was replaced because it stopped working. Paid 400.00 to have this fix. Clearly the staff don't know how to fix it. As a regular customer surprised to be treated so terrible like it was my fault. Left to call later today to see if they have time to fix it. Will not go back ever !!!!! Going to dealer who said the line has to be blocked to have water inside the car. Will be filling a complaint with state. read more

I wish I could rate less than 1 star. I took my car here with some minor problems. "Jake" called me trying to play it off like it was no big deal listing off parts that needed replacing, telling me it would total up to about $450, which I was fine with and relieved to be getting my car fixed. He added, "and then, you, know, the costs of labor. So it won't be bad." I go in to pick up my car and they charged me 1100 DOLLARS, saying it took them 8 hours to replace some brake pads, spark plugs and a fuel pump. I paid them and just wanted to leave with my newly fixed car. The woman at the front desk assured me, "It runs great now!" Well, not even a week later my car sounds HORRIBLE, way worse than it did when I first brought it in. The engine light is back on, my entire car shakes when I accelerate, and my brakes squeak so loud the entire neighborhood can hear them. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take your car here. They are shady and all about draining your wallet without actually fixing anything. I'm working with my lawyer to file a small claims case against them because I did not pay $1100 to have my car come out even worse than when I started. read more
