Over the years, the B&B family have gotten to know him and they all have varying levels of comfort with him, Sophie being the stand out and could have easily replaced me as his mom! Despite Gus's lack of interest in most beings that aren't a tennis ball, everyone makes a concerted effort to get to know Gus and his quirks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience! When there was an issue with another dog, not started by Gus, the B&B family immediately let me know and we solved the issue together, again with their team being absolute rockstars in care for Gus's small wounds before I could get back to him. I mention this story because there's always someone on a review site for doggy daycare and boarding with a bad experience who talks about it, but doesn't go into the detail of how the company made it right. Bark & Board have become trusted advisors and custodians to my dog for 4 years, and we cannot thank them enough for giving Gus a safe, loving, and comfortable experience for over 4 years, and will continue to do so and care for my little buddy. For anyone without a "special needs" dog, they will love your pet like their own and will get much more out of the themed days, photos & videos, "paw-gress" reports. But if your pet is a little more like Gus, rest assured, they will be in great hands!

And realized I owe this fantastic person a review. A very long story short, in 2015 I found myself in temporary housing after a move back to Atlanta to start a new job. It was a very difficult situation with two rescue dogs that suffered from anxiety/separation issues. The day prior my daytime pet arrangements had fallen through. I also had work travel imminent. I was in a panic and massively stressed. The same day I called Karen, she showed up to meet me and the two pups. They took to her immediately, even my ultra scared/shy guy who shivered and shook around people. She confidentially handled them, kindly calmed my anxiety over the situation and had it under control. She could double as a therapist!!! The next day while I was at work all went totally fine with their walk. I even received text photos with details of how it went. The pups were happy, I was relieved of stress and life suddenly became simpler. For simplicity sake I've glossed over a very trying and rough time in life. I've been bringing my border collie/husky mix to Wagging Tails a few days a week for the last…read moremonth, and she LOVES it. I've lived in a few cities and taken her to a few daycares, and this is by FAR her favorite! I don't even have to put her leash on to walk her to the door, because she willingly runs straight in - doesn't even look back to say bye when they take her to the back outside area! They make a point to separate dogs by size, which is a LIFESAVER and a total change from her daycare in Brooklyn, where she'd get in trouble for talking back to tiny dogs with Napoleon complexes. Not only do they know her by name, but they very clearly interact with the dogs, because every time I pick her up, they talk about things that she did that day that I know for a fact fit in her personality - no vague "oh she played great" comments, instead they talk about what dogs she played with, that she demanded scratches from XYZ employee, made the other dogs chase her - all stories and comments that prove they actively love their job and love the dogs that come in. She comes home tired and happy - what else could you want from a daycare? She does occasionally come home wet - on warmer days, they have kiddie pools for the pups to play in, and I'm pretty sure that she hogs the pool the whole time. I can't complain though, because part of having a dog is accepting that things get a little messy, and that's why I keep a beach towel in the backseat of my car. I've recommended Wagging Tails to the other dog moms in my office, and I'd recommend them to anyone else who works and/or lives near West Midtown!

She was everything I hoped for in a sitter and more, going above and beyond my most hopeful expectations. She was responsive, dependable, friendly, knowledgeable, flexible and all around wonderful. I can't begin to express what a relief it was to have Janet watching our cats when everything else seemed in chaos. My husband and I were trying to navigate a trip to help my elderly mom after knee replacement surgery (the day before elective surgeries were halted due to COVID-19) and had the trip extended unexpectedly when we realized she needed way more recovery time. When I had to change our first meet and greet due to my flight getting canceled five times (due to the pandemic) she was understanding and accommodating. When I finally got back (for just one day before returning to my mom) Janet listened attentively when I introduced her to our three kitties and when I showed her the medications for our elderly cat, asking great questions. When we were gone she visited our kitties twice a day, every day. She sent the most adorable pictures after every visit so we knew our cats were being looked after, along with detailed text updates and even occasional videos of them playing.Her messages were a ray of sunshine in what was otherwise chaos. If all that weren't enough, she found a better way to give our 19 year old IBD cat his twice daily medication AND she gave him his subcutaneous fluids. Having Janet as our guardian kitty angel was like having an old trusted family friend looking after our cats.

Recently our pet sitter through Critter Sitters retired and we met with our new sitter one time. Everything seemed fine and we were scheduled to go out of town and had confirmed with the new sitter employed by Critter Sitters that everything was in order. Yesterday I asked for clarification about the billing since it seemed substantially higher with the new sitter over what we had paid previously - in response, I have been told that the sitter's schedule has changed and that I should seek care for my animals elsewhere. With little more than a week's notice, this was very unprofessional and disappointing to say the least. I've tried to communicate my experience to the owner of the company but the line has been busy for some time; will update this review if new information becomes available but sadly, I can no longer recommend this business and would seek care for pets elsewhere. Update: the owner responded and while appreciated, I find the way this situation was handled by Critter Sitters very unprofessional. I can include the text conversation for reference as I did not negotiate: I asked a question about a price difference between two different sitters employed by the same company, a difference of over 300 dollars. The only "policy" I see enforced or followed here is poor customer service.

The first time she cared from my group, it was unexpectedly cold and my dogs typically stay outside for the day. Olga altered her schedule so that she could come over extra times throughout the day since the dogs had to stay inside due to the cold. She kept in close contact with me on the weather and when she thought it was safe to let them stay out. Olga's love for animals is so apparent - I felt she cared from my group just as she would her own. When I dropped her off that day, they let me see the suite where she would be staying and let my dog sniff around. She had a great day that day and they even posted a picture of her smiling for the camera on their Facebook page. They even give a little report card so I knew how her day went. When I dropped her off for boarding, they let me bring her crate, blankets, toys and whatever else she needed "to feel at home." The Presidential suite has a camera and I was able to watch her while I was away. They gave her a bath before I picked her up which was awesome too. Special shout out to Shimon! He works in the kennel and he loved on my dog so much. He was raving about how much fun they had and practically begged me to bring her back again so he could play with her. Here's the bottom line: dogs are like kids. Dropping them off and leaving them is never easy.
