    Everlasting Stoneworks - Cremation Stones

    Everlasting Stoneworks

Misleading communication, promise to deliver yet nothing but excuse after excuse. Job never done…read more I was recommended to contact Jamie at Everlasting Stoneworks on May 6th, 2020. My brother passed away in October of 2019 and I've had poor luck in having seven letters engraved onto my brother's headstone. Jamie was sweet and kind during our one and only phone interaction as going forward, we would communicate by text or email. During our first phone call I was promised this quick job would be completed within 10 days, no longer. I was told her sandblasted was out of town so we'd wait a few days. That turned into waiting on a stencil for nearly a month and a half. On June 12th, 2020, Jamie entirely stopped responding to my messages and emails. I texted her three times on the 17th, four times on the 20th, emailed her on the 12th as well as the 23rd of June. Jamie never responded to me. It was yesterday, July 6th, 2020, that I decided to use a backup phone number I have to send Jamie a text message asking if I was reaching Everlasting Stoneworks. Within minutes she responded. When I addressed that it was me and was still waiting on any update whatsoever on the 10 day job filled with promises that it would be done and was repeatedly told not to worry nor panic, Jamie did the unthinkable. She stated to me that she found her husband cheating on her and that's why she had not answered, as she had not been working. (She answered that text within minutes though, ready for work). She followed this message with telling me to simply call somebody else. The most fortunate thing about this event is that I was never charged upfront. I cannot request any money back in this case. What I have lost is more than two months of time for a job that should take moments to honor my dead brother. I have every text message we exchanged as well as every email exchanged. Jamie was never rude but always provides false time line promises. It started with 10 days and one of the times she promised it would be done the very next morning at the latest. Jamie even provided me a photo of what appeared to be the stencil for my brother's name! That message was grouped with the promise that the job would be finished by no later than the following day. This was on June 16th, 2020. I am attaching or providing screenshots of parts of our exchanges. My purpose in this complaint is to warn anyone planning to use her services. Look at the previous BBB complaint as well. She is known to disappear and provide inaccurate expectations or resolutions.

Behind an Advance Auto parts lies the Brookside Historical Cemetery. It is a perfect example of an…read moreold Florida cemetery. African-American and White sections contain many of the founding families from the small agriculture centered community of Fellsmere which was founded in 1911. The cemetery is much older however and is one of the oldest cemeteries in Indian River County. The land for the cemetery was donated to the city of Fellesmere by Fellsmere Farms in 1916 but there are unmarked graves in the oldest section of the cemetery from the 1880's. Brookside contains an array of markers, homemade brick, cement, and modern engraved granite. Prominent people are buried here as well as the the lesser known turpentine workers who worked in the pine camps that is now the St. Sebastian River State Buffer Preserve. The city of Fellsemere maintains the cemetery. Across from the historic cemetery is the entrance to another piece of history, the rails to trails project. The abandoned Trans-Florida Central Railway trails have been turned into hiking trails. The trail is a 2-mile hiking and biking pathway sitting in a former railroad corridor that once connected Sebastian and Fellsmere. The centerpiece of the trail is the iconic bridge over Interstate-95 where the name of the trail is displayed prominently in huge letters across the span of the bridge. It was designed to look like an old trail bridge. Though the railroad trail is about 15 miles long, only 2 miles of trail have been completed.

-All County canceled our memorial that had been booked and paid a month before with no explanation…read more THE WEEK BEFORE offering only an earlier less desirable time or another date. WHY? We are a large and spread-out active-duty military family and were scrambling. All County did not return voicemails or emails asking for clarity. WHY? -All Country scheduled LANDSCAPERS, visible and audible from inside the chapel service, cutting trees at the time my family was forced to accept. WHY? Seriously, wtf. -Prayer cards had wrong birth and death dates. (VERY wrong dates, not small ones that could be missed.) When this was pointed out at the service, family members (with the widow of the deceased present) were told "it doesn't matter." WHY? Just remove them and say "We will fix this asap if we can." That such a response was within the boundaries of "acceptable response to guests at a service" is a sign of professional rot. Again, wtf. They are very efficient and the Chapel is a nice setting, but a cavalier attitude toward HUGE mistakes is a sign of professional rot. They will ignore, deflect, and deny until the last minute leaving families floundering. I can only offer a mixed review.

The quality of their service was beyond my expectations. Working with Maureen was so easy and effortless, she really went above and beyond. She went over all of the details, and pricing to great detail. This is not the time of your life you are looking for a value, but this company really was far superior than others in the area. Thank you so much for making this time so hassle free for me.
