    Red Headed Stranger (sooo good)
    Angie G.

Great brewery with delicious beer on tap! We especially liked the Red Headed Stranger Amber and the Gose with their Michelada mix!! They have a food truck outside, too, with lots of seating in and out. The locals are so friendly and helpful!

What a great addition to old town Beaumont!! They have around 5 beers that they brew in house and 10 or so guest taps! The Struggle Street beers are super tasty, I recommend the Haze for Dayz if you like hazy and juicy NE IPAs (which I totally do!) The location has parking in the front and back with seating inside and out. There is also a Cajun food truck that shows up! We were able to order delivery to the brewery since they don't serve food. The staff are very friendly! This is a great place to bring friend and family for a relaxing afternoon of craft beer tasting!

Very picky about the type of beers I drink and each one I tried was great. I had the Java Stout, Caramel Apple StruggleTart, Blueberry Muffin StruggleStout, and Pecan Pie StruggleStout, not pictured: Mango Habanero Cream Ale. Also the staff is greater. They will take awesome care of you. I highly recommend if you're looking for an adventure with beer.

First of all, I want to apologize because I don't remember her name. She had long brown hair with bangs. She offered us excellent customer service and made sure we were taken care of during our visit. The flights were good! My husband enjoyed his as well. The pickle beer with michelada sauce was my favorite. Looking forward to visiting again when we are in town.

Food was tasty--especially the fried fish. Drinks were also really good. Live music was nice.

This place has an awesome vibe. The big dill beer is top notch and the brisket plate is so yum. Awesome staff and atmosphere.

The star though might be the pickle beer with the michelada.

I wish we could have just sat and worked through their whole menu... we'll definitely be back next time to sample more. On this first go-round we had the meatball apps and boudain eggrolls. The meatballs were very tender and well seasoned. You only get theee per order but they are a nice size, not tiny. The eggrolls were delish and paired wonderfully with the mustard dipping sauce, but I thought they could use a boost of spice in the boudain - between the fried wrappers and the mustard, the nuanced flavors of the boudain itself gets a bit lost. Still excellent. For the beer we opted for No One Asked, which is described as a brown ale but drinks more like a porter and was a nice choice with all of the apps and pizza. We settled on the Meat Machine for a shareable pizza but I would have also loved to try the Gochu-Gang and the Herbed Ricotta, but they all sound creative and tasty... so many options, so little time! If you haven't been here yet - DO IT!

I had been twitterpated (IYKYK...watch Bambi) back in 1997 in this area by a sassy little blonde. They were so excited to try something new as the local Pizza Inn was their go to for pies (they are 82). Needless to say they loved it and we did too. You just don't see that often and I wanted to try it. The stars aligned and my family and I met up here for a weeknight dinner. Alvin is the true definition of a small town. It is just south of Pearland and life moves a little slower out here. Atleast for time being as it is becoming more developed now. The building itself is old and full of character. Everyone seemed to know each other. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, but service was a tad bit slow at times. My family isn't a big drinking family so we stuck with water and sodas, but they have quite a nice bar program here. They have a really impressive beer selection, a long list of specialty cocktails and lots of wine to choose from. I'm definitely coming back to check that out without the fam. For appetizers, we got an order of the scotch eggs and the Bavarian pretzel sticks. This was my first introduction to scotch eggs and a wonderful one at that. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in sausage and deep friend. It was a nice treat and something I will not be sharing next time. The pretzels were also very good. Our waitress suggested some cheese sauce to accompany those. These sticks of goodness were excellent. For my entree, I was stuck on a few items as their menu is pretty extensive. Our waitress said my option for the Pork Milanesa was the way to go, so I did. I've had milanesa at Mexican restaurants, but never in a tavern nor prepared this way. This was hand battered in panko and then topped with a mushroom gravy. It comes with broccoli and mashed potatoes but I substituted the veggie for mac and cheese. This dish was very good and the portions were very generous. Enough for me to have a full second meal minus the sides. The pork was thinly pounded and kept it's crunch even doused in gravy. The gravy was rich and very delicious. My family got a mix of items like the philly cheese steak, flat iron steak salad, tavern salad, and chicken fried steak. For research purposes and for my loyal readers, I tried everything. There wasn't anything that was bad to me. We were full so desserts didn't happen on this trip. Overall, Gordon Street Tavern is a solid spot that I would happily return to if in the area.

They need to put a sign up on the tiny road so you don't pass it up. First I will say I came here for a baby shower in one of the private rooms they offer. I cannot comment on the service because I did not need any. I also cannot comment on the food; it was provided by the party. What I can comment on is the parking - it was absolutely horrible! And that is being kind. They had a few spaces available in a field but to get to those spaces you had to drive through a 5 foot hole that was at least 4 feet deep! Thanks but no thanks I don't do off roading! At 2pm this place was packed! There was a DJ, people everywhere, small children everywhere and quite a few dogs. All in all, I am giving the stars for private room because that is what my experience consisted of.

The semi-off-roading experience driving up the long driveway did not reassure me that I had found the spot either. Limited parking spaces were even more limited due to giant potholes filled with water. I had to move my car because once I parked I couldn't get out without getting my shoes soaked. Venue itself is a huge warehouse space. Large shaded deck spans the building. Tables are picnic tables. Great airflow inside with large fans. There is a separate room attached to the large main hall with some high tops and foosball table. Live music this evening with local youth bands from School of Rock. Other touches around the room reinforced their community support (local art on the walls, silent auction for a charity). Great beer selection- B52 beers ranging from IPAs, Pils, Ale, coffee porter. I tried the Bishop Crackberry Cider- just enough sweetness and perfect for the summer night. Service was nice. Food is served outback from a food truck: They give you a buzzer so you don't have to wait around outside waiting for them to call your name. I shared a Chicken Vindaloo pizza with one other person. Portion size was perfect for 2 adults. Although it promised "tongue searing curry" it totally lacked spice. The Indian flavors were there though. Just don't promise me tongue searing- and it's ketchup level spicy. Thin crust was topped with chicken, Black Truffle Ricotta, Mozzerella, Basil- it was an unexpected exotic flavor to find at a traditional brewery.
