Mac and Mac 'N Cheese Bites
Rebecca M.

Atmosphere is the only reason I'll give this place two stars, service isn't bad either the waiters were pretty good. However the Food just absolutely is not improving. They gave us Tartar sauce with the Mac and cheese bites thinking they gave us marinara sauce, and everything else was just not great after that. This restaurant has so much potential but can't nail the food. The drinks weren't great either according to husband. I'd probably just walk on over to the wheelhouse if you're looking for exceptional food.

Good ambiance, it's outdoorsy and for watching games. Good eclectic food. Slow service though.

Glad to have a pickleball spot right in the heart of the theater district…read more Pickle Mania is conveniently located next to Lyric Market, making it an easy place to play and grab food afterward. We visited on a weekday morning and they were offering $5 open play, which felt like a great deal for comfortable indoor courts. I don't play very often, but for that price and setup, it's hard to complain. They have plenty of courts, and when we went there were only a couple other groups playing, so it never felt crowded. The guy at the front desk mentioned it gets much busier after work hours, which makes sense given the downtown location. Besides pickleball, they also have a ping pong table and a couple of cornhole setups if you want to take a break between games. Snacks and drinks are available for purchase, but having the food hall right outside is definitely a plus if you want more substantial food options afterward. Parking options include garage parking ($6 for the first two hours) or nearby street parking. Overall, a great addition to downtown Houston and a convenient spot for people living in downtown or surrounding neighborhoods.

While we like to be able to reserve a court on a weekday, we also enjoy open play on Saturdays. We have had a lot of fun playing with strangers! Paddles and balls are available at no additional cost. They also have snacks and refreshments for sale. We will definitely be back!

This relatively new and beauuuutiful gym opened up within the past year, and I would've been so…read morehappy to have a gym like this when I was a student! Its clean, shiny, modern design allows a lot of natural light come through the windows. There are rows and rows of cardio and weight machines, free weights, several benches, maybe 3 squat racks on the first floor. There are also several basketball courts that double-times as pickleball and table tennis areas too. Head to the second floor for an indoor track separated with jogging/walking lanes that tour around more cardio equipment + an area to stretch and do free weights/floor exercises. Fans of group fitness classes will have to pay for semester passes, but they have endless choices of yoga, circuit training, cycling, pilates, bootcamps, and even tai chi classes, plus those specifically for older adults! Members of the community (non-students) can also nab a membership here too, so it's a great choice with an amazing price to stay active! My first visit with my dad today really impressed me and I can't wait to come back for another workout next time I'm in the area :D The 2nd floor is definitely quieter if you like your space (and colder!). They keep it well ventilated with the AC and Big A** Fans (that's a real brand, I'm not joking). Views through the large windows are great with fields in the back (you can spot families of deer wandering around!) or big blue skies in the front if weather permits. Lots of free lockers with locks to store your stuff. The restrooms are clean, and the lockers have several showers too. There's apparently a small sweat towel service! And you can check-out equipment like basketballs at the front desk too. Personal training is also available. There is also a grab and go cafe at the first level and tongs of nooks and places to sit and study. There's no dearth of plugs either. Free public wi-fi. You can find indoor study rooms and outdoor patios with tables on the second level to hang out and work on things. *dreamy sigh* Downsides I can think of: no swimming pool. And they close really early Friday-Sunday at 6 pm~ UH Clear Lake students get free membership, but otherwise community members can start working out for $25 monthly. A parking badge/slip is $5 monthly (giant parking lot). Only 2 guest passes per semester. If you're just in the area, a day pass is just $5-- check it out! ^-^b

For our families who are traveling with their kids to compete, there was a playground for the little kids that was covered under a tent so that they can play without the heat. During the summertime, I can see parents and family and friends watching the game from the oasis building. The south shore oasis building has large glass windows that parents can watch the games from while having an adult bev. Inside the oasis building, they sell food, drinks, and even alcohol for adult. Oasis building also has a bathroom inside, which is really nice. As far as parking there were plenty of parking spaces and it was very easy to get to this location for the tournament. The closest hotel would be the Fairfield, which is not even half a mile from the baseball fields. T I had two orders of churros which came out to be like 10 bucks. Chicken strips and french fries that came out to be about $20. My advice for families who come here and want to save money is: bring a reusable water bottle and filled with water to bring to the field otherwise you're paying about four dollars for a bottle of water. If you want to order real food, you can get it delivered through DoorDash and meet them at the front gate of the baseball field. They do allow you to bring in food and drinks as long as there is no glass. If money is on issue then there's plenty of food drinks and alcoholic beverage choices. They also have breakfast and lunch menu menus as well as chips, drinks and snacks. Also, for those who are wondering what kind of seats they have , it's the stadium style seats like they have at the Astros game. Individual seats It is not the metal bench that will get hot in the summertime. Plus I also like that the sun is behind you when you're watching the game. These are games from 8am-2pm.

What a beautiful ballpark. Plenty of parking plenty of seating so very nice…read more Grandson just got a great hit first time up to back today

I would rate 3.5 for the food and 4.5 for the pickle ball experience…read more We have been here once for an afternoon pickle ball date and once for a family experience on Easter. The first time for the date, we reserved the outdoor court for an hour, had a couple of drinks for HH, and an order of fried pickles. The facility was nice, the drinks were good but not strong, and the appetizer order was enough to share with more than 2 ppl. When we came back for Easter brunch, we reserved an outdoor court again. The $1 mimosas were a nice touch for our party. Afterwards, we partook in the AYCE brunch. It was rather pricey ($36/adult), since it was Easter and ham and prime rib were added to the menu. The food was decent. Our 2 year old had plenty to choose from. I like the atmosphere and how easy it is to reserve a court. It's very spacious and a great place for all ages to enjoy. The service was good. We'll be back!

Anyway, the bartender eventually came around. Thankfully. Won't be the first place we pick to go out again.
