Best customer service experience I've had in my 3 years visiting Texas. My wife and I ordered drinks. I had the Old Fashioned and she had the espresso martini. We each got one more before then end of lunch the were so good. I ordeed the cheeseburger and it was better than my steak meal I had at Saltgrass the night before. We were coming home from a long drive and happened to be driving through the area, so we stopped to find something to eat. Boy, did we find an amazing place to eat! If you were anywhere around here, you'd have to stop here, saying. This place has only been open for a year, coming this May, and it's fantastic. They had somebody playing piano in the corner, huge, like three stories, so it's like wide open. The food was beautiful, and it tasted great. I have pictures. Back at Hearsay again today, and the atmosphere remains just as enjoyable as our first visit -- great music, welcoming ambiance, and attentive service. The bread board was just as delicious as last time, and my husband really enjoyed his margarita. We shared the Tuscany Chicken Pasta; while it was a decent dish, it didn't quite compare to how outstanding the food was on our previous visit. It may simply not be the right dish for our tastes, but we're still excited to try more of their menu. I also appreciate that they offer a vegetarian option and are even catering for Thanksgiving, which shows their range and flexibility. This restaurant gives off such a speakeasy vibe and I love it! Very cute with indoor and outdoor seating. Nice for any size gathering. Come as you are. The food and staff were great. One of the best Parmesan fries I've tried. The artichoke dip was just enough spice and even though no chips come with the street corn casserole it was just fine being eaten with a spoon. Have eaten here twice. The first visit was so good (food, service, ambiance) that I was really eager to go back and literally wanted to order the exact same thing, lol. And the food and service did not disappoint. However... our experience was frankly tainted by two things: lighting and odor. Do not take a table in the front anytime near the sunset hour. This establishment really needs shades on its front windows because for about 20 minutes of our meal, my spouse and I were getting hit with super-bright light right into our eyes until the sun finally set. The windows, reflections off the glass and table surfaces, etc just made it worse. As for the odor- about 15 minutes after we arrived (but had not yet been seated)- a strong scent of a sickly Sweet scented cleanser was notable. (Like the kind you might use to clean a toilet- but not pine scented, more like sickly sweet floral). We figured it would fade... but alas it did not. We were seated about 2 tables down from the entry, near the bar- and the smell persisted through our entire meal. It tainted everything we ate. I'm not sure where it was coming from - but would advise that if you smell something like that when You walk in- and it bothers you- don't accept a table in that area. I wish we had simply waited for a table further back in the restaurant. We would have definitely avoided the deer in headlights experience... and hopefully the scent as well. I've smelled that scent before (industrial cleaner, "cherry almond scent) so I don't think it was some sort of "ambiance" tool or someone's perfume. I never ventured into their bathroom to see if it was the cause. I just k ow we never smelled it on the prior trip BUT we were seated further back in the dining area, closer to the patio. It might be a while before we go back... but if you should go, I do still highly recommend the braised beef on grits with brussel sprouts. Soooo good! I'd had given this place a five for our prior visit... and food and service still absolutely rocked- but gonna go with 4 to average out this trip with the nasty cleanser smell and lighting. read more

The restaurant was beautifully renovated and updated throughout! Our food lacked in multiple ways. Salad greens had seen better days (lots of black wilted greens in the mix) which paired terribly with a food service jugged dressing . No fries came with the pulled pork as advertised??? Lastly, the "charred broccolini" side is anything but..... boiled, flavorless and never seen the surface of a grill. First: I order sparking water, and received an empty glass full of ice (no drink). Second: Our waitress brought out my "sparking water" but to my surprise it was regular flat water, I had to wait to flag her down to tell her about the error. Third: I placed my order, and I expressed to our waitress " NO pickles" since I had already developed a trust issues, I repeated my concerns on not waiting any pickles on my sandwich. What did I receive, PICKLES. I was so frustrated with the experience I didn't brother to send back my food but instead pick them out. Last night, I had the absolute pleasure of attending the first night of Hearsay's two-day soft opening in downtown Beaumont, located in the beautifully reimagined space that once housed Suga's. To say I was impressed would be an understatement--if I had to choose a last meal, this just might be the place I'd pick. From the moment I stepped through the doors, the experience was top-tier. I was warmly greeted, my reservation was promptly acknowledged, and I was immediately seated. My waiter, Adrian, was an absolute gem--attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and genuinely funny. His menu insights and welcoming demeanor elevated the evening. If you visit Hearsay (and you should), do yourself a favor and ask for Adrian. The space itself is elegant and inviting, with both a lower and upper level. The second level, now called Suga's Dance, pays homage to the location's historic roots and features a dance floor, blending nostalgia with fresh energy. Though the soft opening menu was limited, the offerings were anything but. For appetizers, I started with the Buffalo Fried Shrimp--jumbo shrimp fried to perfection, tossed in a tangy buffalo sauce, drizzled with blue cheese dressing, and finished with a sprinkle of chives. Absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, a creamy and flavorful delight served with garlic crostini and tortilla chips. And let's talk about showstoppers--the Texas Charcuterie Board was a visual and culinary masterpiece. Presented in a large Bavarian pretzel, it featured a generous assortment of salami, prosciutto, sausage, cheese, fruit, nuts, and olives. A feast for the eyes and the palate. For my entrée, I chose the seared salmon, which was cooked to perfection. It came paired with grilled squash and a silky mashed sweet potato--an ideal balance of sweet and savory. I ended this spectacular meal with a serving of bread pudding that was, in a word, divine. Warm, rich, and comforting, it came with a scoop of ice cream and fresh fruit. "Slap-your-momma" good doesn't even begin to cover it. Hearsay has officially arrived in Beaumont--and they've made an unforgettable first impression. Loved our impromptu night out at Hearsay Beaumont! I tried making reservations online last minute and nothing was showing available, but made a call to the restaurant and they were able to find a spot. We started with cocktails of a Dirty Martini and The Wolf of Strand Street, and both were excellent. Appetizers next of Cheesesteak Eggrolls and Ahi Tuna Nachos. The egg rolls were just OK, but the sauce didn't seem to match the egg rolls. But, the Tuna Nachos were so good I could get them as a meal next time! We shared a Beef Short Rib and Gouda Mac&Cheese. More my husband's style of food, but I actually enjoyed it. Dessert round included Creme Brule and a Caramel Macchiato Martini, a perfect combo! I'll start by saying the food was flavorful. Reservations weren't required, but they were recommended. The wait was only about five minutes. Things got off to a rocky start when the manager spilled drinks at our table while trying to hand one to me instead of walking around and setting it down. The staff quickly cleaned up and offered to comp my daughter's dessert, which I appreciated. My redfish was excellent, and we ordered chocolate cheesecake, crème brûlée, and bread pudding to take home. My mom lives about 20 minutes away, and when we made it home Anne prepared to enjoy the desserts, the bread pudding had ice cream placed directly on top, so it was melted everywhere. The crème brûlée's shell was cracked and had sunk to the bottom. Overall, while the food itself was decent, the experience left something to be desired. I'll pass on coming back next time. read more

The flavor wasn't there, my husband got the T-bone and it was burnt on the other side and it wasn't flavored. Service was good, we had to look for him a few times. Hearsay might just be my new favorite spot--and not just because I left full, happy, and a little too friendly with my wine glass. I ordered the espresso-crusted pork chop and let me tell you, it was so good I briefly considered ordering a second one just to take home and stare at lovingly. My wife had the short rib, which was so tender I think it actually sighed in relief when the fork touched it. We decided to celebrate like adults and indulged in a bottle of Caymus wine, which instantly made us feel like classy people who actually know the difference between "notes of oak" and "yep, this tastes expensive." And then there was our waiter, Camp--the MVP of the night. Funny, attentive, and just the right amount of sass to keep us laughing. Honestly, I think I'd come back just to hang out with him. My wife took me out the the Hearsay last night. We were impressed from the moment we walked in. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The restaurant decor gives upscale dining vibes. Make a reservation for sure! We didn't have a reservation so we sat outside but the evening was warm and a little windy so we were fine. Also, the patio is very comfortable and just as elegant as dining inside. Emily out server was very helpful a knowledgeable with great suggestions from the the drink and Happy Hour menus. The food was top notch! The Cheesesteak egg rolls were delicious! We were having such a great time that we stayed for dinner and we moved inside with the assistance of the manager who was very accommodating and facilitated getting a nice spot at the bar. Mikey was serving during with all the grace and finess of the finest mixologist. Dinner did not disappoint. My Ribeye was tender, well seared and perfectly medium. We will be back. We were greeting promptly by the amazing hostess (didn't catch her name.) She was super friendly and seated us outside on the amazing serene back patio. I ordered an old Fashioned and Honey had a Double Jackpot beer. The old fashioned came out a little bitter, and it was remade quickly to my liking. (We understand it's new and kinks are being worked out.) *Drinks took a minute to come out but it was Happy Hour and the bar was slammed. We weren't in a rush and understood. We ordered the Waygu meatballs and devoured those. Super delectable and the sauce was so good, we nearly licked the bowl clean. We ordered the Ribeye (medium rare) with Brussels sprouts, and street corn. It came out perfect...along with a side of garlic mashed potatoes that I will dream about. Today is my wife's birthday, so I made a reservation for 5::30 at Hearsay, Beaumont (great gumbo). I came at 5:20, only four tables occupied, those tables on stilts, you need to climb to reach the top. Although the rest of the tables weren't occupied, the young couple at the desk didn't want to sit me at regular tables and the only other option they gave me was ...the highway. So we went to Floyd's....I am not sure that I will ever step in Hearsay, but this is me, others could be luckier. read more

Let me first thank the full Hearsay Beaumont Team for accommodating my mother and her twin's 70th birthday party of 26 people at the last minute. The service and dining experience was nothing short of amazing. We thought that having 1 server would be chaotic and drawn out. However it was the total opposite. The server had a numbered system to where she placed all food orders first and then got everyone's drink orders. The kitchen had everything out fast and correct. Management came by a few times to check in to see if the server needed support and to make sure we had everything that we needed.
