We wanted to give this place a try instead of just going to a pizza chain. The girl with short brown hair who took our order and the man who I am assuming is the manager were both very nice. When we ordered we asked for the weekly special with no tomatoes. The girl taking our order asked the bartender girl how to put no tomatoes in the computer, and the bartender girl was really snooty and told her that normally they don't make changes to the weekly special. We were just asking them to leave the tomatoes off cause I'm allergic? Not add anything or replace it? Like explain the silly rule to your coworker when your customers aren't standing right in front of you, basic rules of customer service right there. We came back in 25 minutes like instructed and no pizza. They had a mix up and accidentally sent our pizza out instead of a different one. That's okay, it happens. But still meant us waiting another 20 minutes for them to fix it. While we were waiting I watched them in the kitchen noticed that no one was wearing gloves. I'm not sure what the exact laws are regarding a pizza joint specifically, but eww. You just touched a refrigerator door handle and then immediately touched the toppings for someone's pizza. Also saw the bartender chick eating fries while serving customers and standing in what would be considered a food safety area, which is a giant no no. While waiting we weren't offered anything to compensate us for the inconvenience or even offered a glass of water. Their employees all looked really sloppy. Most of them didn't smile. None of them were friendly except the girl who took our order and manager who apologized about our pizza, keep in mind though after us waiting for a good 10 minutes or more without anyone telling us what's going on, even though they were all discussing it in the back and one of the pizza makers got so upset he slammed a refrigerator door. They even messed up and gave us blue cheese instead of ranch. Couldn't even get that right, when there was a "B" on the lid of the containers we noticed when we got home. All of that being said, the food was pretty good. I enjoyed the wings a lot and the pizza was tasty. Looks like they have good drink specials every day too. Would I come back here? Probably not. Maybe if they replaced the majority of their staff. But the food was good. I can't deny that. read more

Very good pizza. Fresh ingrediants ans the wings are baked and the meatiest around. The crab is imitation though and the owner should note it as such on the menu [one demerit] . The restaurant itself is kind of small but you cn get 3 or 4 good sized families seated at same time. A small bar that seats about 5 or 6. Sports themed [owner is from Chicago...lots of Chicago sports kitsch on the walls. 3 good sized flat screen tvs. Beer and wine specials on certain days. The delivery is fast...but you have to remind them to bring condiments and they often forget the soda pop if that comes with the meal....seems you got to remind them "Don't forget the soda!" None better in Orangevale, though Roundtable gives them a run for their money with their buffets.. read more

I don't eat Pizza Chain Pizza! Always looking for a good Mom and Pops. It's kinda hit or miss with this place. The biggest complaint is they skimp on the Meat toppings, even when I've ordered double of certain toppings and told them to charge me extra. Looked like the ingredients were good but I specifically asked if they could make the pizza crispy as I hate the spongy, soft dough you can roll into a cigar shape. They said yes, then when it was delivered - yuck. The crust was almost raw. If they can't leave it in the oven for a few extra minutes, just say so before I have to pay for it, only to throw it out and go somewhere else. read more

We really liked their pizza it was one the best in the area with the great crust. The customer service is why this rating is so low. The last three orders have been incorrect. I don't care for the most part and the first two incorrect orders didn't affect my husband so it wasn't a big deal. The order tonight however affected us all. We placed an order at 5:45 pm. First we asked for full pepperoni with a quarter mushrooms as well. They called us back and said they could only do half or nothing. They couldn't accommodate our extra mushrooms on a quarter instead of half. Ok fine, we'll take mushrooms on half. Our order gets here about 45 minutes later. It was missing the pepperoni. My children are starving at this point so we feed them but immediately call to explain the error. They take the order no problem. Again they say it'll take 45 minutes to get here. They call us maybe 15 minutes later and explained that they were cooking it incorrectly again and wanted to verify our simple order of pepperoni pizza with mushrooms on half. The restaurant tells us they will rush the order and get it right out. At 7:30, nearly two hours later they call to say they are getting it out the door immediately and it will be right here. At 8:45, YES, THREE HOURS LATER, we finally get our correct pizza. I'm livid at this point. My husband calls to speak with the manager. I tell him I will not be satisfied without a full refund. He hangs up and tells me that we will only receive a full refund IF we return both pizza's untouched. May I remind you I have two children under four that are starving and is now over an hour past their bed time. So I had already fed them the first pizza. I am not satisfied and have left a message for the owner to return my call tomorrow. I am floored that three hours and three pizzas later, they don't have any customer service to make a customer happy. We'll see what tomorrow may bring... read more

I used to order all the time but I lost the penny saver coupons and when I asked if they had any deals they wouldn't even help a pretty loyal customer. They just lost my business. I absolutely love a great pizza. Lombardi's in Greenwich Village, Genos East in Chicago, Pizzeria Orgasmica in San Francisco, and Uncle Vito's here in Sacramento. Imagine my surprise when a neighbor joint in O'vale opens up that is actually delightful! There were a handful of other pizza places in this same location and all of them were woeful iterations of the typical bland Sacramento style pizza. Strobelli's on the other hand is quite delicious; there are choices to please most any palate. For crusts there is deep dish, thick, Jay's thin ( my favorite since it is so close to NY style crust), there is choice in sauces, and an abundance of toppings. We also like the creativity of some of the signature pies; The Ignitor for example is a flavor sensations with jalapeños and Frank's hot sauce. The salads are always fresh, bountiful, and I l Ike them served with the dressing on the side like they do. Lastly I am almost embarrassed to admit it, but I am addicted to their wings! They are nothing fancy, from what I saw at the bar they take the wings out of the freezer and run them through the pizza oven twice, and serve them up with Franks Hot sauce, blue cheese, or ranch on the side, and they are simply delicious. They are crispy on the outside, and steamy hot on the inside, not all slimy like most wings in a vinegar sauce. The atmosphere is relaxed and fun, the crowds range from professional sports fans to families with middle school boys who love to order the "pizza balls", there's a serve yourself drink fountain, and the beers on tap range from Coors, Blue Moon, and Sierra Nevada Pale Ale to a rotating tap that recently had North Coast's Indica, and now they have 21st Amendment's Black! 4 1/2 star rating from me and I have been there at least 25 times. Not that it matters to Jay the owner, but my last half of a star would be given if he could get the Jay's thin crust to be more like Amicci's over at the Nut Tree. Supporting local small business is something we enjoy doing. This nondescript pizza shop in Orangevale is easy to pass by, but you really should stop! We have a 4 year old, so pizza is something we do once a week. These guys are hands down one of the best. The sauce does not taste sugary or full of additives, it tastes fresh and real. Crusts are tasty, thin or original. We go back often and would suggest others do as well. read more

We usually enjoy Strobelli's pizza though customer service is lacking on deliveries. Our X large chicken, sausage, bacon, on white sauce arrived overdone with crust burnt and sausage dry and crispy. I called and the employee stated the sausage is cooked twice, and the white sauce causes the edges of crust to burn as being normal. I explained that we had ordered the same pizza before and it was not overcooked or burned at all. In hindsight I should have brought the pizza back, though family was hungry and really the pizza was not enjoyable. I would have expected better customer service and a half off coupon at the very least. I hope to give them another try before I go back to Mountain Mikes or Round Table! We would rather support our local businesses before heading back to the chains so please improve Strobelli's! read more
