United supermarket is kinda the grocery store go-to in town. There are multiple locations, but this…read moreone is my primary. That's mostly because it has a full service Wells Fargo built right in. They have everything you expect from a grocery store and then some. There's a sushi counter, hot food you can order to eat in their seating area, and a Starbucks. Lots of fresh produce, beer and wine, deli, fish and meat market, bakery, flower market, and probably more that I'm missing. The employees are always friendly and helpful. The store stays busy and fast moving. The people walking you out to help load your car are a great unique touch.

Always out of many of the ad items. When I was in the grocery business, we ordered enough product…read morenot to run out on a normal's day business. No so with United. They tell me they get a truck in every night and can only order a case of anything, and to come back the next day. I hate making multiple trips to get a sales price on an ad item. I try to go early enough in the day to get an ad item, but many times still find it out of stock. Oh, how I miss the days when Rob Snell owned and operated these stores, and how customer oriented it truly was. The staff at United are consistently friendly and seemingly caring, but their hands are tied, now that the chain is owned by Albertson's in another state. Every good thing always comes to an end.

If you're expecting to interact with polite, friendly staff, this is not the place for you. This…read moreCircle K operates like Dick's last resort they treat you like shit and take your money. You're just a transaction. You're not even a human. Today I went in my interaction consisted of a girl with her phone talked between her shoulder and her ear while she rang in my transaction. Never wants to say hello never wants to say goodbye. Didn't even tell me the fucking total. This place is incredible. I understand why y'all have to have one entry door one exit door because nobody's observing anything in the freaking store to see if anybody's stealing shit. Lucky I'm an honest person because man I could take y'all for some shit for real. The only reason I go here is because it's so close to my house but I just realized that pak a sak is just a few blocks away, so they'll be getting my business from now on. I'm not sure who's running this location, but y'all have the most unfriendly unwelcoming staff I've ever run into. If you want to be treated like shit, this is a place to go. I'll be the first to agree I don't wanna be talked to you in the morning before I've had my coffee but in the afternoon I'd at least like a hello hi goodbye thank you something. These people don't even have the talent to do that instead they sit there pissed off because they're working that job they chose to go to. I didn't hire them. Why do I have to deal with their bullshit?

I usually go to the Market Street on 50th, but I saw this one and figured I would stop by. It is…read morecomparable to the one on 50th, I felt the fresh cooked foods area was not as nice. It was smaller and the deli was not as good. However, the sushi was a lot better. The store did seem darker and less open than the other one, but it still had lots of good foods and even some better items. Their wine and beer selection looked more complete. They also had live lobsters and a nice meat counter with different pre-assembled meat dishes, e.g. beef and feta cheese pinwheels, peppered ribeye steak, apple stuffed chicken or turkey for roasting, etc (the 50th street has a large seafood section but no meat counter). At the 50th street one there is hardly ever any bargain/thrift food, possibly because it is busier, but at this one they had bread and all kinds of meat. I like buying the sale stuff because you can save a lot and have something tasty to put on the grill. The location is pretty far off the Loop, and there was a lot of construction in the immediate area when I went by which was a pain, plus I nearly got rearended by a driver in a big white van not paying attention on the way there (after she almost hit a red Mercury sedan too!). I will probably return in the future to the 50th street location, but this one is not bad! And as I said, the sushi was much more delicious at this location (the 50th street piles on the wasabi and has more boring selection).

Stopped by for lunch and had the pastrami & Swiss with a cup of tomato basil. The soup is always…read moredelicious. The sandwich had a good flavor but would have been better with melted cheese instead of cold slices. The okra tasted OK but had been sitting out a while. Service was fast and efficient.
