Finding a house is a very time-sensitive task and Rachel was quick to provide essential information so we could make a decision. With Rachel's attentive and professional services Sidekick For Hire helped ease the stress of a cross-country move.

Most importantly to us, he was able to get our fairly shy daughter comfortable and up in front of the group of her friends to join in his act and, even better, she had a great time doing it. He also stayed after the show to make balloon animals for all of the kids in attendance which was a big hit. It was all around a great show and Alex was fantastic at working with the kids. He was also great at communicating with us regarding preferences etc... leading up to the show. I'd book him again in a heartbeat.

Kirk Rubley is the owner and primary DJ and he was the one who provided services for our event. He was outstanding and everything I wanted in a deejay. He was understated in his demeanor, both in his appearance and in his mannerisms. He was polite and respectful, did not use foul language and did not try to take over the party. Rather than making it about himself, he made it about us. Our party was very similar to a wedding reception and he guided us through the various stages in a subtle manner, which was important to me. Unlike other DJs he did exactly what I wanted. I had different age groups there and he only played my chosen genres and did not forget any of the songs I wanted him to play or the order I wanted them played. Kirk also added other songs to the list that were appropriate for the specific age groups present and that did not include foul language or violence. He handled requests very well; if they were questionable he sought my approval first. Kirk went over and above for us throughout the night, even helping my son with problems he had getting the video ready to play. Kirkabee Deejays was perfect and I'm very happy to recommend him to others. Actually, I already have! Mary K.

He's certainly on the circuit and knew most of my other vendors already even though i found them completely separately. I gave him late disparate directions and input and he made my wedding Dreams come true! Honestly you don't need a day of coordinator with this guy. He kept everything on track and made sure we knew exactly what was coming next. Music for ceremony and reception, announcements, everything was perfect. He truly will help you in anyway he can (i.e. getting you drinks, changing something on the fly, dealing with pesky relatives ;) etc.). The dance floor was packed and LIT all night! My high expectations were wildly exceeded. HIRE THE GUY!

But for what's it's…read moreworth you can do no better for a local personal magic act then Barry Taylor of Barry's Magic Shop. This review is for Barry the Magician's performance for private parties, I will give a separate review for his actual magic shop at some other time. So fiance and I were at a very good friends party for our friends son who just turned 18. Yeah, you're a man now Chris happy B-day. My friend, she always have some sort of entertainment for her great party's one time it was a belly dancer! What to do? They are older adults there, young twenty somethings, teenagers and little kiddies, so why not something that everybody can get into..... magic. Get the right person and they will become the life of the party. Enter Barry Taylor he is the owner/operator of Barry's Magic shop in Rockville and he does parties. Corporate, B-days whatever for up to about a hundred people. As soon as he arrived he stood out wearing a bright lemon coloured sport coat and a very colourful shirt so you knew something was going to be different cause not only his clothes really stood out but also his personality stood out just as brightly. At parties people always separate themselves into small groups huddling, standing or seated talking amongst themselves. Barry was able to glide from group to group without skipping a beat between all groups. The little kiddies first, doing tricks that amazed them such as the vanishing handkerchief's and foam ball tricks. He then gravitated over to me and fiance with coins and cards. Making the coins jump from his hands to her and left her tying to figure out how he did his hands is trickier than the eye tricks. Very personable on a one to one level making everybody feel at ease. Later on into the party Barry had setup a little staging area inside and performed a fast pace and extremely entertaining magic show that involved everybody and made things appear like doves and disappear like cards, canes and all sorts of small objects. All the time while zipping out one liners and even singing to Huey Lewis type songs. Magic and jokes for small group is what he does best so if you have a private party or corporate function and looking for something that's entertaining and safe fun, (as opposed to naughty fun, like some comedians that i know would tell nothing but dirty jokes) so he is good for all ages I give him high recommendations and let him entertain, you will have a blast. He had us rolling with laughter. I been to Vegas I seen shows there and for your own private Vegas little show, this is as good as it gets.

If you're looking for something a little bit different, it really seemed to be a hit for kids and adults alike. Barry is really great with the kids, engages them, and even has the birthday child and a couple of other kids help with tricks. My understanding is that he's very able to work to the crowd, no matter what the age. They have various party packages- we got the one where all the kids get a magic wand and a magic hat for the b'day child- and Barry and Susie (husband and wife team who own the place) really help out with setting up the tables, chairs and keeping everything on schedule. The show is 50 min. and you have 40 min. for food and cake. All in all, it was right on the mark.
