From pre-op to post-op, he answers all your questions and concerns. He knows all things related to feet and ankles. He takes his time when you have an office visit and you do not feel rushed out at all. Even though he moved offices and is now located in Georgetown which is quite a drive for me, I don't mind it because I know I am in good hands.

AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS! Made an appointment for me for 9 a.m. and didn't even bother showing up to the office on time. I'm standing outside of a locked office while writing this review. Went in for a separated toenail, June 1st 2023, doctor recommended full removal. Sent me home and the pain was excruciating. I called the office as I was leaving but they were closing up at that time and didn't bother checking their messages. I did leave one mentioning I was in some discomfort. The doctor did not give any indication that I was going to be in extreme pain when I got home. Also did not prescribe any painkillers. The pain was pulsing through my foot before I even managed to get home. When I showed up for the follow-up this morning, (two weeks later) no one there. And then didn't even bother calling to apologize until after the doctor saw this bad review.

So severe that it forced(along with a nasty cancer diagnosis) an early retirement and a future in a wheelchair. Not on his watch Flash forward 5 years, multiple surgeries, medical procedures and assertive use of pharmaceuticals...I WALKED out of his office today. He is an outstanding physician who advocates for his patients and isn't afraid to take on insurance companies to provide the best care possible.

I underwent bunion surgery on my right foot, along with correction of another toe. Unfortunately, the final outcome has been very disappointing. Following surgery, my big toe healed with a significant gap between it and my second toe, creating an unnatural appearance that has never improved. In addition, the toe that was corrected with a pin never healed properly and now "floats" rather than resting naturally on the ground. Despite prolonged taping and following the postoperative instructions provided, these issues never resolved. I became so dissatisfied with the outcome that I ultimately chose not to return for additional treatment. I understand that no surgery comes with guarantees, but I feel my concerns and the long term appearance and function of my foot were not adequately addressed. Years later, I remain unhappy with the results and regret having had the procedure performed. Based on my personal experience and outcome, I cannot recommend this surgeon.

After answering quite a number of questions, I was escorted to the back examining room. Unlike most sterile clinical environments, her office had a very homey inviting feel to it. Remember those good old days when your doctor actually spent a fair amount of time with you answering your questions and explaining the procedure. Dr. Toussaint was empathetic and let me know what was going to happen. She let me know the infection had not spread to the bone, but she needed to numb the toe with 2 shots of a local anesthetic before she had to cut away the nail to treat the infection. Surprisingly, there was very little discomfort and she gave me some great instructions on how to care for it in the coming days after she bandaged it up. One thing you do need to know is that when it's time to settle up with the co-pay, you will also have to settle up the remainder of what your insurance will not pay. In other words, you will need to bring a credit card or cash because she does not send you a bill. With BCBS, our total bill was just $80. Dr. Toussaint is definitely one of those rare doctors that really spends some quality time with you and makes sure that you are properly taken care of. Informative photos included.

She recommended that I should wear something more comfortable. I bought a pair of shoes at her clinic since they were the most appropriate with the type of feet I have.
