Dr. Wood is professional, kind, attentive and there for his patients. He doesn't just go straight to surgery, and tries other options before going that route. From pre-op to post-op, he answers all your questions and concerns. He knows all things related to feet and ankles. He takes his time when you have an office visit and you do not feel rushed out at all. Even though he moved offices and is now located in Georgetown which is quite a drive for me, I don't mind it because I know I am in good hands. read more

(8/23) now i've got additional charges and a f***ing late fee!!! i see he moved his office, wont keep me from going in there and going off on his office staff. AVOID THIS GUY AT ALL COSTS! Made an appointment for me for 9 a.m. and didn't even bother showing up to the office on time. I'm standing outside of a locked office while writing this review. Went in for a separated toenail, June 1st 2023, doctor recommended full removal. Sent me home and the pain was excruciating. I called the office as I was leaving but they were closing up at that time and didn't bother checking their messages. I did leave one mentioning I was in some discomfort. The doctor did not give any indication that I was going to be in extreme pain when I got home. Also did not prescribe any painkillers. The pain was pulsing through my foot before I even managed to get home. When I showed up for the follow-up this morning, (two weeks later) no one there. And then didn't even bother calling to apologize until after the doctor saw this bad review. read more

Contrary to positive reviews here, my experience was awful. I went in for pain in my right foot. They recommended custom insoles, naturally. We took a mold of my feet and a week later the insoles arrived. They charged me about $430 for the insoles out of pocket, in addition to the $30 copay upon the first visit. But then they charged me another $30 just to pick up the insoles. I spent less than 5 minutes there and considered it a pick up, not an appointment. The insoles, right away, did not match what I had asked for but I took them home to try anyway. The insoles barely fit in my shoes and were incredibly painful. They slipped A LOT in the heel, as well. I understand an adjustment period is required for this stuff but it's not supposed to be unbearable or loose in the shoe. I took them back for a first round of adjustments. They charged me another $30 copay and tried to charge me an additional $50 for the adjustments. This was unacceptable considering they couldn't even meet my initial requirements. They waived the fee at my request. But again, when I went into the office to pick up the insoles, they didn't meet the expectations set. They also charged me another $30 for the pick up. At that point, the insoles didn't fit in my shoes at all. They were way too wide and long and they had no cushioning in the heel like I asked for. I had to cut them in order to just try them. I called and complained and they tried to charge me another $50 for a second round of adjustments. I declined the service and haven't returned. I am currently trying to get my money back from my insurance as I spent over $500 and walked away with nothing. Moreover, Dr. Wood and his staff didn't seem to care that they didn't help me. They got their money and that's clearly all that matters to them. I strongly recommend you go somewhere else or go to Walmart and get their $50 insoles. That's what I did and my feet feel just fine now. What a waste of money. I will never make this mistake again and recommend to anyone looking for help with their feet to do A LOT of research before committing to a clinic. read more

Every step has been uncomfortable. When you call in, it rings for a while before going to an automated message where you can say you want to talk to someone. Then that person picks up and just says "Dr. Woods office, hold" without waiting to hear anything from you. Just click, you're on hold. I didn't get a bill for months and then when I got it there was no way to pay it online. I have to go back to the office or mail them a check or something archaic. Also the service was really poor and they tried to have me get a $1000 service which I could luckily reject. They didn't give me the option to not take shoe inserts that I realized I paid $80 for, apparently. These would've been much cheaper anywhere else. Not a trustworthy office. read more

This man did a bunionectomy on my left foot that failed-his words. Today I had a toe amputated because it was left with no blood supply as a result of his botched surgery. He never apologized, offered to fix the situation or refer me to someone who could fix it. He kept his fee. Please beware-there are good doctors but he is NOT ONE OF THEM! read more

Dr. Wood is great! He is very sincere and caring. I've been to him for two different issues and always leave his office feeling well cared for. I had a question after my visit today and he called me back within an hour. I don't see a podiatrist often, but it's so reassuring to know Dr. Wood is available, if needed. I highly recommend him! My only complaint is that I was charged co-pays (which means they charged for an office visit) for appointments that were just brief follow ups. For example, when I had my orthotics made, I ended up paying $200 in co-pays (on top of what the orthotics themselves cost) for the four visits it took to get them. It seemed like the three follow up visits (which were very brief, like just making sure they fit okay) should have not have had separate charges. read more

After wasting a significant amount of time and money with other highly rated Podiatrists in Austin, who could not diagnose my foot condition but continued to offer expensive solutions, I am so fortunate that I found Dr. Wood! He is a phenomenal doctor with a wonderful staff. I had been struggling with an annoying (and sometimes painful) condition in my foot for almost a year. My first doctor (Dr. Lisch) treated it as a neuroma but after several injections, I had no results. My second doctor (Dr. Shock) told me it was likely a stress fracture, and had me pay $300 for a boot that I wore for 2 months. After I took the boot off, I still had problems, and after an MRI (another $300) we confirmed that it wasn't a stress fracture at all! What a huge waste of money. Unlike the others, Dr. Wood was able to pinpoint my condition in my first visit. It was a neuroma but caused by a genetic issue (one of my metatarsals is lower than the others), so it needed to be treated in a very specific way. He used an ultrasound to discover this, whereas my other doctors never tried this approach. Also unlike my previous doctors, Dr. Wood did not try to push surgery onto me; he was very honest about foot surgery being risky, and he didn't want me to go down that path. Instead, he gave me a few injections that killed off one of my nerves (the one causing me pain), and prescribed some orthopedic inserts to help correct my genetic offset in the long term. I am happy to say that my pain is almost 100% gone at this point. I cannot recommend Dr. Wood enough! Please don't waste your time with a podiatrist who just wants to make money off you, and push you into an unnecessary surgery! Unfortunately they are out there :-( read more

I visited Dr. Wood to get a second opinion on an ankle sprain that I have had for a while. He spent more time with me during my first appointment explaining the different things he thought might be causing my chronic pain than my other podiatrist spent with me during my last three visits combined. I had a better understanding of what my injury could be, and what my future treatment options are. I will definitely be switching my care to Dr. Wood. dr. wood did a simple bunionectomy to my on my left foot. He never mentioned any potential problems and I thought the surgery went as planned. As my foot healed it started looking very odd. My big toe is twisted left with big bumps on it and the second toe is bulbous at the end with a huge crevice on the bottom. Another podiatrist said that he cut something in my foot too short. I need another surgery-this one complicated-to fix my foot. I did go see Wood and said that I needed another surgery to fix it. I wrote him a note to see if he would help me to pay to fix it-no response. My foot is painful and ugly. Please do not go to Dr. Wood-I cannot trust him or recommend him. read more

I had a toe issue and went to see Dr. Wood. I was able to get in quickly and within my time schedule. I told Dr. Wood that I am a very squeamish patient. He understood - and explained everything to me before he proceeded. Was extremely thorough - and spoke in normal people speak- not dr jargon that I could not understand. His staff was wonderful. Dr. Wood is the best podiatrist that I've been to, and I've seen several others in Austin. He was able to remove the bit of toenail that I had remaining without anesthesia. He also gave me a simple solution to having my new toenail regrow and attach. This was an amazing feat, since I had been having troubles with this particular toenail for over 4 years! Dr. Sant'Anna is the second Austin podiatrist I've been to recently. Before I moved to Austin, I've seen many podiatrists for various problems. She is by far the best. I have plantar fascaiitis and a big heel spur. I thought she was going to tell me to stop running, which led me to put off going to the doctor until I could barely walk. Anyway, she worked with me so that I can keep running (putting in less mileage for the next month or so with new shoes) and so my foot will improve. She gave me a cortisone shot in my heel and wasn't condescending about the fact that I am a big baby when it comes to fear of needles. She x-rayed my foot to diagnose the heel spur, looked at my foot, and her office is checking with my insurance to see if they cover custom orthotics. Dr. Sant'Anna's staff is nice too, unlike other offices I've been to. They got me in quickly and were very pleasant to work with. I think this is important, since it's sometimes necessary to deal with office staff more than, or at least as much as, the actual doctor. My husband has also been to this office and had a great experience with Dr. Sant'Anna. His recommendation is what led me to go to her. read more

Come here to fix the root cause. I have been to 3 podiatrists and Susie Sant'Anna is by far the best. The others would fix up my ingrown toenail, but never fixed the root cause. When I hurt my heel 2 weeks ago, the doctor at the resort felt around and told me the usual rest, ice and elevation. As soon as I got home I went to Dr. Sant'anna. She took xrays and put me in a cast. Only downsides are it would have been nice if she had given me a handicap tag, plus she didn't quite seem to remember why I had gotten the cast in the first place when I went in to take it off. read more

I went to see Dr Wood as a second opinion because the treatment that the podiatrist I was seeing wasn't helping me. The pain in my foot kept getting worse. I was very frustrated and found Dr Wood's name from Yelp reviews. I am so happy that I went to see him. I saw a big difference right away! The examination he performed on my foot was way more thorough than the previous doctor. He took the time to talk to me and give me my opinions. Turns out I have a torn tendon. He put me in a cast for 6 weeks. I just got my cast off and I'm in a boot for 4 weeks. My foot is healing and at the end of 4 weeks, hopefully my tendon is healed and I don't need surgery. Dr. Brent Wood is the BEST IN TOWN! I was referred by my primary care doctor because of a very painful big toe. Dr. Wood and his staff were exceptional and diagnosed my problem right away. I went to Dr. S'antana for my son's foot pain. Her office is run professionally and the staff was very helpful and pleasant and was able to get him scheduled quickly. She diagnosed my son with flat feet and recommended orthotic inserts. She was able to x-ray and cast the orthotics right in the office and the lab she used made high quality orthotics and they were able to ship them quickly. After one fitting, everything worked and his foot pain went away. I have recommended Dr. Santana to my friends all with great results. read more
