5-stars for the stretching and the expertise of the StretchMed Therapists are top quality (Kevin is GREAT) ... but read on. The business itself - 1-star. StretchMed might not be what you think it is so buyer beware when it comes to handing over your money. My session was free. It could have been 1-star rating and just 5-star for the service I recieved. I decided, if you read the reviews, you'll figure it out. Because upon reading the reviews, I'm very skeptical in handing over a credit card or 'buying' a membership. I might not be back unless it's a drop in emergency session. That being said... INCREDIBLE treatment, care, and knowledge from my Therapist, Kevin. (I went for the free 50-min session) I did the introductory FREE appointment and let me tell you, I went from not being able to do certain things a week before to the next morning, able to do things with more ease and fluidity. To be more specific: Kung Fu Being new to Kung Fu after a 15-year layoff in the Martial Arts, there are specific things (stances and kicks) that are very difficult for me to do right now. My goal, get back to where I was 15 years ago. I had my appointment on a Friday night and the next morning, found, to my shock, I was moving so much better and getting into stances with more ease than before. I literally was shocked. I'm sold - I need to really work on my stretches. Specific stretches. Kevin was great - but told me I shouldn't be doing Kung Fu. Not, do it carefully, or do it with caution- but NOT. I made sure I heard him right and he recommended that I do not do Kung Fu. Well... that is not going to happen. I would think there would be a, do it with caution, be careful of this and that, follow up a class with these stretches, etc. While I completely understand his intention is to protect me, I'm not going to just quit after starting up a month ago. That being said - I completely understand. (So Kevin, nothing against you 100%... it's just I would have liked a more cautionary recommendation so I can continue enjoying what I love while being careful). I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Kevin as your StretchMed Therapist 100 and 10 percent! He provided great stretches, showed me what I needed to work on, and I was on my way. I had to do the pricing when I got home because when presented the pricing after my appointment, it didn't make sense right away. I am a financial analyst and at first glance it looked weird based on initial calculations (and dehydration). Credits vs dollars is where they get you. Came here to Yelp and am concerned about the reviews - the pricing plan (and Membership) is reflective of all the bad reviews. 25 min - 1 credit 20 min - 2 credits 55 min - 3 credits 70 min - 4 credits You can buy 4 credits for $80. Does it look odd to you? So why not book a back-to-back-to-back-to-back for 4 credits and get 100 minutes? Those times should increase! If you're scheduling more time, there should be less credits spent. 4 credits for 70 minutes of work is less value. That's 17.5 minutes per credit if you want a 70-min session. You're 'spending more' (in credit) for less service. Go to any massage parlour, as purchased time increases, the price per minute on average decreases. Climbing Gyms, Martial Arts studios that do it by days, Personal Training, Workout gyms... all have the same business practice. Pay more money, you get more time/services. Burke Williams in Pasadena for a 35-min 'Pure Relaxation' massage its $140. That's $4/min on average. Book a 80-min massage its $230. An average of $2.88/min. People reviewing saying this company is dishonest - well... this pricing is reflective of it but hidden in membership and credits. What if you are a member, but don't go quite that often, then cancel because you can't afford it - you lose all your credits. Could be 20 credits built up. That's is a whole lot of BS... While I get the whole Gym Membership - you don't go you don't go. You lose PERIOD. That's on you. This one is, you'll have to pay MORE MONEY to get all those credits back to use, but those credits are for future services. StretchLab (not Med) in Pasadena offers two types of sessions: 25-min - $65 50-min - $120 Or some packages: 3x25 min sessions - $179 3x50 min sessions - $339 Do the math. StretchMed pricing tiers DO NOT work for me. Especially, the more you pay (in credits) the less you get philosophy. So the stretching is great and Therapists who do that are wonderful and expert at what they do, the business practice itself... not my cup of tea. If you want a great stretch, ask for Kevin. Get your money's worth at least. He's the only reason this gets 5-stars. On a personal note, I might sign up for Yoga. read more

I tried several of these assisted stretch businesses and this was the worst of the 3 models. I joined as a member because it was the closest to me and the cheapest; and like most things in life you get what you pay for. I was recently injured in a car accident and unable to continue; until I fully heal. When I joined they said I can pause at any time and Despite me telling them I needed a pause they continue to bill me monthly against my wishes. When I saw the most recent charge (actually two charges) I immediately informed them that I should not be charged during the pause in my membership and that I plan to continue after I'm cleared medically. The conversation was like talking to a desperate car salesman. One excuse after another with no offer to refund the last two charges made (both came after I notified them I require a pause). I had to contact my credit card company and file a dispute in order to get one of the two charges refunded. I actually attended at least 6 months and was not on the basic membership for most of that time. I was going to two 40 minute sessions each week; and I only point that out to Show that I was a very good customer, and am still treated like a mark. This company doesn't care at all about their clients, they only care about getting recurring charges billed on your credit card. In fact, they didn't even ask me why I had to pause my sessions instead they used their usual pressure tactics to try to schedule another session. read more

I saw the Instagram post for a free trial stretch and booked it. Allan, the appointment setter was very polite over the phone. And guided me on how to find the place with text and photos. It's by Wilson and Artsakh Ave/Broadway. My stretch person was Kevin who was excellent and patient with me. He made sure to ask if I was feeling okay and when to stop a stretch. I highly recommend trying them out. Then it's up to you to purchase a membership or just drop by on as needed basis. It's like getting a sport massage/training without the hassle/being a pro! Parking was free across the street from their location, open about a year. 90 minute limit in the garage. You can even eat or shop after at the places nearby. read more

Since the first appointment with StretchMed, I've had nothing but amazing service! I have a back injury and they take good care in stretching me without causing any pain, in fact I leave every time feeling taller and relaxed. The communication from the staff while being stretched is very helpful as they always ask if I am comfortable with how far they are stretching me. I usually book with Audrey because she is amazing! I have actually gone to StretchMed after having issues with pain from nearly falling a few weeks ago, hosting a tour of Venice Beach. I went to my chiropractor, my orthopedic doctor, physical therapy and even the emergency room (and I'm not a person who normally has chronic health problems)--but the guided muscle stretching exercises (what I describe as assisted yoga) has greatly reduced my sciatica and accompanying pain and discomfort. I especially recommend therapist Audrie who has been gifted at determining muscles that have been the source my problems. StretchMed is also more affordable than most of its competitors. *if you don't have much room or enough staff do not take new members * 5 star for 2 of the staff I dont remember one of the guy name and the other one was kevin 0 star for the lady who was work today, she doesn't have customer service and very unprofessional 0 star for the business I was a member of this facility for couple of months and had a frustrating experience from the start. Initially, I was told that my points would never expire, but when I tried to cancel my membership last month, I was informed that I would lose my points unless I gave a month's notice , that way I can use my all points at that month , I paid for another month just to keep my points. I was also advised to book appointments well in advance because of limited availability. Despite that, I found it extremely hard to get a slot. On my last visit, I had to wait half an hour past my appointment time and ultimately had to leave due to another commitment. I also encountered issues with cancellation policies, as I was told I wouldn't lose my session if I canceled 12 hours in advance, but still did. Overall, the service was disappointing, and I hope they reconsider their policies and capacity. read more

This review is based on the interactions with the company PRIOR to booking the appointment. I have not booked an appointment with StretchMed due to these interactions. I saw an Instagram ad for Stretchmed and clicked on the link, auto-filling out the form to get further information regarding a free 40-minute stretch. I assume everyone is familiar with these Instagram forms. On Christmas day, at 8:00 a.m., I get a text message from Allan at StretchMed, providing a link to book a spot. It's Christmas, and 8 a.m., so I make a mental note of the text, decide that I will reserve a spot later, and then go do Christmas stuff. Then, this morning (12/26) again at 8:00 a.m., I get another text message from Allan stating that he "noticed that I haven't replied yet" to the Christmas text the day before and asking if he can "get me set up with that now." Admittedly, my fuse is a little shorter these days after dealing with a family member in the hospital, but this set me off. I wrote back a snarky text asking if they really had to text incessantly, telling them this behavior turned me off, and that I would not be booking with them. This should have ended things. Any normal company would take the feedback and stop texting me. But no. Instead, Allan just CALLED ME. I told him this was an insane thing to do after I had already indicated that I was done with the company. I hung up quickly because I was on the other line. I thought it was over. But again, no. Then ALLAN TEXTED AGAIN. In this text, he helpfully explained to me that he "apologized...but just wanted to assist me in setting up an appointment." I probably shouldn't have done this, but I called back to ask Allan once and for all to stop contacting me. I didn't do it over text, because that hadn't worked. I was also sort of curious if he had some sort of brain damage that doesn't allow him to comprehend it when people tell him to leave them alone. At the beginning of the call, he said that he previously called to apologize, but then, somewhat aggressively, said "why would you fill out a form if you didn't want to schedule an appointment?" I explained, to the best of my ability, that I DID, at least initially, want to schedule an appointment, but what I didn't want was to be spammed continually by messages, specifically being contacted at 8 a.m. on a holiday, and then the next day again, and then when I explain that I don't want to be contacted, to get a phone call. After stating *that* Allan, then pivoted and said that he had just called to see whether I wanted off the contact list. Yes, Allan, I want off the list. How did you guess??? After the phone call, I responded to Allan's latest text and told him that I was going to write a review, and to this, Allan responded that "we have already taken you off the list," as if this was the point. I realize that this review may have some Karen vibes - in that who cares if I get two text messages - but to me the point here is this: auto-spamming is annoying, it's unnecessary noise, and when you ask for it to stop, it should. The humans behind the auto-spam shouldn't also act like an an automaton. Their services may be great, who knows? But if you dislike this type of intense robotic marketing, this is not the place. read more

This place is MONEY! I'm a pretty active person between dancing, martial arts and drumming. I had zero expectations coming and honestly didn't know what to expect but this was for sure a GREAT experience. I was with Chelsea and this was one of the best stretches of my life. I feel very happy with what I experienced. I didn't realize how tight I was in certain areas but boy do I feel like a million dollars. read more

Unfair Business Practice I had 6 unused credits. When I refused to make another payment for 4 new credits before using my 6 remaining ones, STRETCHMED blocked access to my account and refused to let me use them. This is unacceptable. According to their contract, they claim unused credits are forfeited if you don't keep paying monthly. But this practice may violate consumer protection laws, including: California Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), Civil Code § 1750 - prohibits deceptive or unfair business practices California Unfair Competition Law, Business & Professions Code § 17200 - bans unlawful or coercive business conduct Federal Trade Commission Act, Section 5 - forbids companies from denying prepaid services through deceptive terms I was denied access to services I already paid for. Forcing payment just to unlock previously paid credits feels coercive and wrong. This feels more like a subscription trap than a legitimate wellness service. read more

This company is very dishonest! They charge you without your consent. Be very careful. I've never had a company do what they've done. I signed up for 2 sessions and because they had my card on file decided to make erroneous charges. I'd stay away from them. There are other companies who are a lot better and more honest than them.
