I'm very disappointed in the equipment on the elliptical and it's rattling and shaking as I'm working out. The equipment is not being kept up. This also includes the bikes in cycle class. A few weeks back the class that I like on Thursday night was canceled. they no longer have pump class on Thursday evening. One of the reasons I joined this gym was because of the classes. In the few months that I've been here classes have been canceled or there aren't enough classes for me after work. I use the elliptical religiously, but getting on the machines has proven to be a challenge. There are so many people using the machines and waiting in line to get on the machine and this impedes my workout. The women's locker room and restroom have been consistently untidy every time I've gone to Paramus it's very disappointing. I'm scared to use the toilet because they're just not looking clean and kept up. I also did a review for the Paramus 24 hour fitness on YELP and on Google reviews. The manager reached out to me and asked me to submit my concerns on their online portal which I did a month ago and no one has reached out to me. The staff was helpful and friendly and the overall vibe was good for the gym. Not every machine worked all the time but thats ok too. Cost for quality is a balance. The biggest issue was the cleanliness. Mold in the showers and on the ceiling of the bathroom, garbage (for several days/week) in the showers and dirt in the corners and on the floors. Super easy details to address with a bit of attention. The yellow caution tape on the ladder into the pool became a permanent fixture. I wonder if it is still there. For the cost, the limited staff is definitely going to be stretched, times are tough and I appreciate that. But I think with some targeted attention to some areas can improve the overall feel of the gym and the community could be more forgiving. Any updates on what operational changes have taken place to ddress these areas?

I've taken classes with Kip, Kelly S., Kelly C., Anjali, Sonia, Judy, Matt, and Lisa and even though their styles are all COMPLETELY different, I loved every class in a different way. Your first class is free so you can try it out without having to pay. Most of the classes are 90 minutes but some are only an hour if you're looking for something shorter. Single classes are $18 each but if you purchase packages online, you save 5%. In addition, they also offer student/senior deals on TOP of that so it truly pays to book online! My 6-class package came out to $68. My only complaint is that on hot days, it gets HOT in there. I've done hot yoga before, but this is a little different: it's just stuffy, humid, and uncomfortable. I'm not sure if they don't have A/C or just choose not to use it but if you're planning on going in the summer, dress lightly and bring a headband and towel. The Ramsey location has an overhead fan. They also have a brand new GORGEOUS location in Chestnut Ridge, although the air situation is comparable (and no overhead fan). It's also next door to a coffee shop and the walls are VERY thin, however, the coffee is great!

I haven't had the pleasure of taking class with every teacher who works at both this location and the Chestnut Ridge location, but the instructors that I have taken (Judy, Alane, Lisa, Rose, Tenley, Trish, Kelly S.) are lovely individuals, and incredibly knowledgeable. The latter is evident in not only the way they guide you, but the way they can move their bodies. It's so inspirational. I'm sure the rest of the teachers are no different. Recently they've decided to add a Pilates class, taught by the fabulous Ms. Anjali and I couldn't be happier! While this is a yoga studio, I think it was such a phenomenal idea to introduce Pilates into the weekly schedule. I'm crossing my fingers that in the near future I'll see this class offered more than once a week!

This…read morepast June I was invited to attend and train with Sensei Rapoport and my son during a father/son Father's Day training and demonstration session. I was instantly hooked and I signed up the same day, especially after I looked at my Apple Watch and it said I had burned 1000 calories in an hour. In this short time I have been taking Kick-Boxing and now Jiu Jitsu classes at Tiger Schulmann's Martial Arts (TSMA) Ramsey. The process has given me so much confidence and the ability to overcome any obstacle big or small, all while reshaping my attitude to work hard at anything I put my mind too. I am learning a life skill that teaches me discipline, comradery, respect, and most of all the tenacity to want to push myself to improve my health and well-being for myself and my family. TSMA has transformed my outlook in patience and respecting a process for training. I am proud to be part of this respected organization and to proudly wear the TSMA logo. Recently my wife and I signed up for the annual TSMA's 90 Day Challenge which starts in January and I am anxious to see more results from the hard work and training that has been instilled in me by my Joshu and the Tiger Schulmann's Martial Arts training he represents. This place sucks on so many levels and feedback is perceived as complaining... no sense of "customer / member experience", whatsoever, which is a top down problem.. The front desk reception staff are all always pleasant.
