I came across a Facebook post about Varsity House and figured why not. On my first day I met with Mike, and we went through my history and my fitness goals, and he didn't care that I hadn't been to the gym in forever. There was no judgement just support of my new fitness journey, and this made all the difference. They have a notice on the door as you go in that says "You did the hard part; we'll take it from here"- This is so true! While I may not be a morning person I look forward to my workouts at Varsity and can't thank Coach Mike & also Coach Alex enough for their help and support.

My husband and I have been working with David Musciotto for about four months. We came to him with…read morea lot of pain, discomfort and limited range of motion resulting from number of persistent injuries, and exacerbated by the physical demands of a thirty-pound toddler. After just a few short weeks of intensive work-outs with David, we experienced a level of relief from joint problems (affecting knees, hips, shoulders, ankles and wrists) that had seemed unattainable despite several rounds of effort with physical therapists and consultations with orthopedists. David clearly has a keen understanding of joint function and inter-relationships among different parts of the body and nervous system, and a skilled eye for subtle signs of injury, muscle imbalance and misalignments. He not only designs the customized workouts to solve the problem, but also is passionate about educating clients on how to move with greater agility, flexibility and strength in ways that minimize toxic stress and build resilience to injury and the effects of aging, making it a great investment that goes well beyond our short-term recovery goals. He has a quirky and humorous style with enough "drill sergeant" to help you move beyond your comfort zone and accomplish things you wouldn't have thought possible or even worthwhile (like dead-lifting 150 lb), but balanced with enough support and encouragement to keep you from getting pissed off and discouraged. Absolute Fitness is a very positive, welcoming environment. The other trainers are also extremely friendly, knowledgeable and encouraging, and they foster good camaraderie among each other and their clients. It's fun and inspiring to cheer each other on as we try new things and struggle to build more strength and skill.

I felt very comfortable and because of her I was able to let go of my anxiety and now she trains me 3-4 times a week. Without Charlene there is no way I would've been able to feel as comfortable as I do in the gym and to train as often as I do. I actually look forward to my training days. Charlene is so kind, patient, and easy to talk too. Thank you Charlene

The customer service is outstanding, and the staff always go above and beyond. A special thank you to Maddie (spelling?), Chastity and Bridget for always being so friendly and incredibly helpful. I've had exasperating experiences with Retro Corporate billing practices in the past, and they've facilitated this for me professionally and expeditiously. An extra shout-out to Pat (he runs the show at night) who consistently goes out of his way to accommodate members and is always willing to help with a smile. I highly recommend Jason Tecchio as a personal trainer. I have been training with him for 15 years…read more When I started out, I couldn't do a push up, I had no idea what a squat was (nor could I do one), and I had sore knees so walking was often painful. Now I can do twenty five push ups, seventy-five pound squats, and I take the stairs at my office two at a time! I am still learning and being challenged in every session; Jason's workouts get harder as I get stronger. Previously, I had tried working with other personal trainers, but there was no structure to their sessions and they wasted time making small talk. Jason is focused and organized, and he utilizes every minute we have. He takes notes after every work-out and we build on it the next time. If you have a muscle that is sore or an injury, he remembers and calibrates around it. As I learned when I broke my wrist, Jason can work around any injury. In fact, my doctors were incredibly impressed with my range of motion and strength when they took off my cast. Jason lives and breathes everything he teaches. He is constantly learning new exercises and techniques, and implementing them in our training. He gives helpful recommendations about diet and stress management; I believe that working-out remotely with him got me through the stress of the pandemic. Getting stronger in the gym has made me stronger in all other aspects of my life. My confidence has soared and my mindset has never been better.

I rarely write reviews, which should tell you how compelled I feel to share our experience at Life…read moreTime Bergen County. We've been Life Time members for years and previously used another club where the staff were consistently friendly. I won't dwell on the facilities here--fees are high, amenities feel dated (though I know upgrades are underway), and comparable clubs in other high-cost areas offer more. That's not my main concern. My issue is the pattern of rude behavior at the front desk and the lack of awareness and follow-through from management. Most troubling, my child recalls being called "illegalist kid in the world" by someone wearing a Life Time jersey in the Kids Club. I reported this to both management and the Kids Club manager. There was no follow-up. My child stopped going for a while--especially disappointing since the Kids Club was a big reason we joined. I also notice a clear difference in how people are treated. We continue to go because it's convenient, not because I want to spend my hard-earned money where discriminatory behavior is tolerated or customer service concerns are ignored. For what it's worth, not all Life Time locations are like this--our experience at other clubs has been much better. I hope this feedback prompts meaningful action: acknowledge the complaint, follow up with families, train staff on respectful conduct, and ensure accountability. That's the standard members should be able to trust
