She has brought me up to speed at a pace that's realistic but always challenging and engaging. It's exciting to have recovered almost 100% range of motion in my shoulder, which is now virtually pain-free, and to regain muscle tone everywhere. Lucie is patient, easy-going, and has a knowledge base of, apparently, hundreds of different exercises, poses and motions to work every muscle group. She is a keen observer, and will make adjustments or introduce new activities on the fly, to target an underperforming body part. I can't recommend her highly enough!

The owner, Jamie Soper, is that unique combination of drill sergeant and cheerleader; both kind-hearted and tough. Also funny, personable and knowledgeable. Almost magically, Jamie helps me push just a little bit farther than I think I can go. She manages to meet and support me where ever I am. Important, since I'm a person with some long term injuries and a few ongoing health issues. Even if/when I'm complaining, I truly enjoy every session - and walk out feeling so much better than when I arrived. Have also come to appreciate Alameda, welcoming the difference between its secluded atmosphere and the more urban Pilates studios I've been to in Berkeley and in Oakland.

I can't say enough great things about Rebalance Pilates and Jaime…read more I came to her after a bad chiropractic experience left me in severe pain -- constant back spasms, hip pain, and sciatica. I was bedridden for days. I couldn't run, could barely walk quickly, and bending over felt impossible. Even turning over in bed was a struggle, and lying on my back would trigger more pain. This went on for months. After seeing an orthopedic surgeon, I knew I needed help -- just not the kind that was being recommended. That's when I looked into Pilates and found Jaime. With her deep knowledge of the body and movement, Jaime helped me rebuild my strength, improve mobility, and steadily reduce my pain. The first few weeks of Pilates were tough, but in the best way. I could feel my body waking up and getting stronger. Week after week, we worked on core strength, planking, targeted muscle work, stretching tight areas, and so much more. A year later, my sciatica is gone, my hip pain is 95% improved, and my back is no longer in constant spasms. I can pop out of bed, walk quickly, run, and move without fear. I feel stronger than I have in years, and I'm so thankful I chose to work with Jaime. She truly helped put my body back together. I'm incredibly grateful and highly recommend Rebalance Pilates to anyone dealing with pain or mobility issues. Her studio offers a variety of equipment, so every session feels personalized and tailored to exactly what you need. Plus, she makes it fun and delivers an amazing workout!

She now works out of her home doing one-on-one instruction in a quiet, non-judgemental space. First She takes the time to learn what your goals are and what you can do. Then she will set up a routine that will help you acheive that goal. It doesn't matter if you are 100 years old, 400 pounds and in need of more exercise in your life or a little bitty thing that wants new ideas for flexibility and relaxation. Margo will find a plan for you. Second She will help you and she will make you feel like you are the greatest person on earth. Did I happen to mention that she's wonderful for your self-esteem? She is a lot of fun. She gives you permission to laugh or cry depending on your mood. She will integrate and work exercise and stretching into your day. Third You will hear her voice when you aren't with her. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Her voice isn't creepy. She reminds you continuously to breathe, to stretch, to adjust your posture in little ways that makes a big difference (to your workout and your life). And you will catch yourself doing it and hearing her gentle reminders. And no, this doesn't mean she's all peaceful and new-age-like with crystals and crap. She's just a good person, with great skills, and she's willing to share them so you can integrate them into your life long after you stop seeing her. Fouth You would think for all this Margo Rose would be expensive. She's not. She's comparable to other trainers, with all the above benefits. I would recommend her to my co-worker in her 20's who is in great shape as well as to my grandmother who is wheelchair bound. She really is good with working around injuries and weaknesses. She promotes health and happiness inside and outside.

I'm a big fan of Michelle Danna's classes. She keeps things varied (I never think to look at the clock when she's teaching), has an eagle eye for form and is just a joy to be around. I've worked out in both the reformer room and the springboard room (sometimes both in one class) and can vouch that both are clean and well maintained. Recently, the Saturday class I'd been taking with Michelle dropped off the schedule and I was sad to see it go. Then, almost like magic, I received a call from PrecisionPoint Pilates telling me it was back on. I found this to be a super considerate (and smart!) move on their part and I really appreciated being able to get my stretch on last Saturday because of it. Best call ever. Thom actually makes it fun. He's engaging and uses great analogies so you actually understand the form. But what really sets him apart is that he faces you and shows the moves instead of just calling out the next one. He'll demo on a student too, which helps when you have no idea where your arms or legs are supposed to be (which is most of the time for me, haha). He also catches when I space out (which is most times) and gently corrects me. And mid-class? He goes around and gives everyone's calves an assisted stretch one by one. It's seriously awesome, feels like a mini massage built into your session. Six months in and I'm amazed. February me could barely control her legs. August me actually has better strength and stability. Yes, it's still expensive. But I'm grateful to Thom for making me show up every Saturday.
