My sister and I…read moreare looking for a good fit for us to take classes together (not sure yet whether it will be reformer pilates that we lock in on). On Sunday, we had our 30 min. intro class. It was a great balance of multiple options that a typical pilates class might include. The class was packed to the brim with 12 students, but it didn't feel crowded. It was very clean. There wasn't a ton of space for people to wait for the previous class to finish, but it wasn't a big deal. There are lockers (just crates; no locks) to stow your items. There is a water fill station. We brought our own grippy socks, but there are socks available for purchase. There is plenty of parking. There was a waiver we filled out and brief information was shared at the end if we were interested in signing up that day. Obviously, prices change/ fluctuate and pilates classes are generally quite pricy, and that's true here too. Leading up to the class, it was easy enough to sign up. I wanted to take the class with my sister, but it was full. However, it somehow worked out that we were in the same class. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!

Whether you're new to Pilates or experienced, Camille creates a welcoming environment where everyone can thrive. This was such a disappointing experience. I signed up for the five class per month subscription,…read morebut immediately found it challenging to schedule classes because there's only one instructor and very few classes per week. Attendance was strangely sparse - sometimes there would be one or two other people in the class, but mostly it was just me. In hindsight, that should have been a huge red flag. In my first month, the instructor no-showed for one of my classes. I considered cancelling my subscription then and there, but she promptly apologized and credited my account, so I decided to give her another chance. In my second month, she no-showed THREE TIMES IN A ROW. I waited days for her to respond to messages. When she finally did, her messages were incoherent. She never credited my account. I cancelled my subscription and got my credit card company to refund my money. Clearly this is a pattern for her, and I can only assume she doesn't really want to be in the business of running a Pilates studio. But continuing to let people sign up and pay for expensive monthly subscriptions is SHADY if not fraudulent.

Pilates: I love attending the reformer classes, particularly Alba's and Jessica's, but I've attended most if not all of the instructors' classes and they've all been great. The weekend classes do get kind of quick so it's better to book in advance. Gym: Clean, never packed (at least when I go). I always find space to stretch with no issue and have never had to wait for what I need. People put their weights back. There are spray bottles and cloths to wipe what you use after. The bathrooms are clean, and the red light sauna is a treat (honestly my deciding factor for adding the membership lol). I've yet to use the cold plunge or the showers. You get $10 off when you have more than 1 membership. I had a billing issue in the beginning and they were very responsive and helpful. All together I pay $164/mo for both. The lack of a parking lot is a mild inconvenience, but street parking is hardly an issue with all the residential streets with free parking around Park. Great gym!!

She's really flexible with scheduling and tries her best to accommodate you. She probably has one of the best and most flexible cancellation policies I've seen, which just shows she's trying to help you out. Most places you have to cancel before the 24 hour time frame or else they'll charge you for the session regardless, but Kerri let's you reschedule within the week if you need to cancel in the 24 hour time frame, which is immensely helpful. 4. Fair prices, I did some research before I picked Kerri and she had some of the better pricings for private sessions And lastly (but most importantly), it works! After 3 months, I noticed real changes in my body (e.g. the emergence of muscle) which was a great change from the skinniest fat person alive (at the time). It never felt like a chore to go to her sessions and they were always semi-fun (as fun as working out can be for someone who hates it with a passion) so the three months flew by and next thing I knew, I had arm muscles! Pick Kerri as your instructor! You won't regret it!

It is considerate, professional and standard operating procedure to have the studio and space open for 15 minutes before class. Students need time to use the bathroom, settle in, grab props, and take a few quiet minutes to themselves before beginning practice. Instead, there were 7 of us standing outside by the door waiting in the sun and it was a very odd dynamic when the teacher parked and arrived to let us all in because the teacher should ALWAYS arrive before the students if there is no open door/front desk. The teacher did not mention specifically which props to have for practice, so every time we did a movement with a new prop, about half of the students had to get up and grab them from the prop room which is very disruptive to practice. Lastly, the teacher guided students into trying Handstand without making space for alternatives like Dolphin or Headstand, and more importantly without any of the basic energetic cues for hands, elbows, and shoulders that are strictly necessary to provide students for this posture in order to protect your neck and shoulders.

She is very exact and can explain the various stretches and moves in articulate detail. I would have been intimidated by this, but she is also a very warm and encouraging (read: forgiving) instructor, perfect for a novice such as myself. The more advanced students also seemed to get a lot out of her nuanced adjustments and corrections: She was also able to move fluidly between students with a very wide range of experience and capability. I also noticed that the studio interior was well designed for pilates and bodywork. The space was not overly "woo woo" like some yoga studios you see these days, but also not cold like a gym; it was the perfect combination that communicated "this is a kind and nurturing place, and we also intend to do serious work on your body."
