The Bar Method is the first and (so far) only place that has motivated me enough to stay consistent with a workout routine. Before choosing The Bar Method, my workout buddy and I had tried other Barre/Pilates places. I booked online through…read moretheir website for a same-day appointment and then a member of their team called me to get a bit more info about my goals and provided me with additional info to prepare me for my first stretch session. I have not worked out or done much physical activity since I had a baby, so one of my goals is to increase my mobility and flexibility before just jumping back into exercise. She let me know that non-slip grippy socks are required which was good to know. They do have them available for purchase in store if you forget or need to get some. Upon arrival, I was kindly greeted and instructed to remove my shoes and get ready with my socks on. My flexologist was Mackenzie and she was wonderful. She walked me back to the stretch bench and began to explain the process and everything she was going to be doing. First, they have you take a quick Physmodo scan which involves doing some squats on a screen and it assesses your mobility, posture, activation, and symmetry. This tells the flexologist the areas that they need to focus on, and they customize each stretch session specifically to your needs. My scans revealed that I was especially tight in my hamstrings, neck, and hips. Then you lay down on the table and they begin to gently stretch your full body. Wow, it felt amazing and I didn't want it to end! It should never be painful and Mackenzie checked in with me often to make sure I was comfortable. It's almost like physical therapy. After my session, they provided me with more info on their memberships and pricing. While I really wanted to commit to a membership, I did have a bit of sticker shock. A single stretch session goes up to $115 each time or a membership is $299/month which includes 4 stretch sessions... basically one per week. I unfortunately just could not justify the cost, but I really did enjoy the experience. They have a $49 special for your first 50-minute intro session and it is 100% worth trying!

The facility offers FREE parking in the neighboring garage. It has a large open atrium that brings in tons of natural light. There are various amenities (I am not familiar with them all, as I only went to the event space that was used for the WIA event), and from what I could tell various points to rest/be seated if needed. The staff at the front reception desk is kind and helpful. From what I could tell, the wayfinding is decent. All in all, it was a really solid experience. I am looking forward to future wellness events that may be hosted here, as I truly enjoyed my visit here.

I called the guy twice after I got there and he didn't answer. Why did I leave a 2 star versus a 1? I didn't get to experience the gym. So I can't say anything negative about their facility or atmosphere. What I can say is they wasted my time.

The class was a mix of treadmill intervals of fast and recovery, weight based exercises, and a bit of rowing. The staff show you all the exercises beforehand and if it's your first time, the equipment too, so the class goes smoothly. There are plenty of screens and people demonstrating the exercises, and you can easily track your exercise intensity based on a heart rate monitor band on your arm. So you can make it as challenging as you want. The experience was seamless, engaging, and my body actually felt more energized afterward!
