The vets at Feline Specialties recommended an ultrasound and discovered the cause of her UTIs. Once that was properly treated she never had another one. Having a cat only facility is also better for our kitties, who get stressed out at traditional vet clinics with loud barking dogs. I can't recommend Feline Specialties highly enough.

When we had to make the most difficult decision to put down our 17 year old, Tigger after he was suffering through kidney failure, they were so very concerned about us and extremely compassionate to Tigger when the time came. They actually cried with us and provided lots of support and hugs. They even took care of sending Tigger to a great place to be cremated. A couple days after we were so appreciative to receive Tigger's paw print in a lovely velvet bag, a card signed by all the staff, phone calls to see how we were doing. After a month without our Tigger, we adopted 3 rescue kitties. One, Rigby in 2009. He's 12 now and is in need of a full tissue biopsy procedure. Of course we're worried but we have the upmost trust in the doctors. Dr. Zinn, Dr. O'Cain to provide Rigby with a comprehensive caring surgery. Dr. Palmer is a great addition to the staff. They are the best in their field, bar none! One of our other kitties, Meija had kidney stones that required surgery and later a tooth extraction. She is doing great although she needs to go twice a week for fluids which they lovingly care for Meija and have developed a sweet relationship with her. She is thriving with their care. Our Eleanor seems to be in good health with yearly check up's and vaccinations. If she should have any problems we know she will be taken care of. We feel like family with the doctors, techs and support staff. They truly are gifts to any cat parents

Contacted them immediately. We were told the dog would be at an adoption event on Saturday in Tulsa. Visited and bonded. Picked up our new fur baby the following day. Note that they are not open to the public except on Sunday adoption days: Dog Adoption Event 11:00AM to 2:00 PM Cat Adoption Event 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Our pick up and adoption process was seamless. We really appreciated the foster parents keeping us updated. They do great work and after this experience we will donate (or even volunteer). Look for an adoption event and meet your new pet. (Fill out your adoption app online before the event.)

They simply presented an outrageously large bill for services that they tried to justify. Any business who raises their prices especially by triple digits should post their fee increases. The same procedure for one of my cats went from about $150 to over $350 dollars. Any business that no longer accepts credit cards without passing on their user fees must post there policies. Decent vet care. Nice staff. Terrible management and business practices. This place also takes discount vouchers from a local cat group. I am very concerned that this worthwhile group will be exploited by this place. If you decide to bring your pet here ask for a detailed coat breakdown before hand.

I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else. Just recently Dr Fleming and I discussed how she will continue to treat my dog after I move out of state this summer. i accompanied momma to the veterinary today for the shot appointment of a dog currently in our…read morecare, and though not especially partial to any veterinarian office, i'm grateful for 4 features of the specific location. firstly, the lot features a little bit of grass on its westside, by which pet owners could wait while a pet does the do, then find the trash bin out back to throw away a defecation bag, if planning allows. also, inside the office is a spacious waiting area, in which a sectional enclosure, currently with a few very adorable, potentially adoptable, young cats on display. further, in addition to friendly service from the workers on duty, the professionalism of operations has credence from the office wall of records, visible to any pet owning client with the ability of sight, and available to anyone caring enough to inquire politely. and lastly from a reporting perspective, the workers each conveyed a friendly demeanor, with one evidentiary indication being 2 distinct workers carrying a trashcan to me for throwing away waste i'd grabbed from outside the building. additionally, from a hood reporter perspective, i wrapped the dog in her blanket in route to the veterinary when i'd noticed her getting the shakies, since i've experienced that the process of a shot is less traumatic if the recipient has a higher body temperature. and finally, live from new york, nah i'm playing, finally i'll add that, despite vaguely hearing a conversation moms had with the front desk attendant about waiting for another shot her records suggest she might need, while i'm very much amateur in terms of knowledge about which shots which pets need when, i'd like to think such a review about general and specific considerations in bringing the dog in our care to a vaccination appointment at the vet will assist someone else even less familiar with the process than me. actually, as a addendum, i'd heard the parv word in that conversation between mom and the front desk attendant, and knowing that has to do with rabies prevention, i'll commit to keeping our dog out from areas under the house and sheds that potential rabies carriers, such as rats, rabbits, and squirrels, occasionally nest.

I apologize for taking so long to leave this review. I'm sorry for any pet that has unnecessarily…read moredied in the interim. We moved to Tulsa in December '23, with a 6 year old, Czech import German Shepherd that we'd had for a few months. She had been used for breeding, required a C-section, and was no longer useful to the breeder. As a rescue, the breeder was familiar with us (we own her daughter), so he contacted us and surrendered her to us. We had her thoroughly vetted when she arrived in Oklahoma. After a few weeks in our home we contacted our trainer and got her into training as soon as possible. She was sweet and a good member of our pack, but largely unsocialized. When we brought her home it was time to address the last step in preparing her for her new life in our home, having her spayed. We made an appointment with Dr Thomas. After anesthetizing her the doctor tried to call us to tell us that she had a spay scar. When we called him back we discussed the c-section scar and decided to wait a week or so and start over. When we picked her up we found that while he had her anesthetized, he decided to perform surgery on her eyelid for some small defect I had not even noticed and we had not approved. I wish I had seen the red flag. Two weeks later we dropped her off to be spayed. We called to see if she was ready to be picked up and were told to wait until five. I walked over to pick her up a little before five and immediately noticed that she looked unstable. Her gums were pale and I asked if I should run her to Oklahoma Veterinary Specialists. Dr Thomas said no, took her back into his office and started IV fluids. After wasting what turned out to be the last 30 minutes I had to save her, he sent us home with a vet tech carrying the IV bag. I helped the still unstable dog. When we got to the door the vet tech gave me the IV bag and we've never heard from them again. After observing her for a couple of minutes I put her in the car and raced to OVS, calling to let them know the situation and that we were headed their way. Dr Hodges, who has helped us many times in emergencies, stayed and waited for us, rushing us in when we arrived. He worked on her for another 30 minutes. She coded twice and was unable to be revived a second time. She died of blood loss from internal bleeding. Dr.Thomas or his office never called to see how she was. We filed a complaint with the State Board. Imagine the State Board of Veterinary Medicine being unresponsive in the State of Oklahoma. Would you expect anything else? If you love your pet, stay away from Dr Chet Thomas and City Veterinary Hospital at 36th and Peoria. I wish we had. We obviously live close by and every time I see that building I feel sad and angry all over again.
