These people really understand cats and cat owners. I fully respect and appreciate them for all…read morethey do. They are all volunteers, all 40 or so of them, many behind the scenes, and they really do a great service to the community and to people who are looking for good cats. These cats will have great lives because of them. After having lost two older cats to separate, sudden and severe medical issues a few months apart in 2024, I stlll had one cat, but after some time I realized I needed one more to make my family complete. And not just any cat, one that I chose and that also chose me. I found him there, and what a nice fellow he is! With the help of the very nice volunteers I was able to apply for adoption and check out a handsome five year old cat who had no health issues, that was displaced through no fault of his own. It didn't take very long from start to finish. With patience and lots of love I am incorporate him into the family. He is a very loving and outgoing cat, to counterbalance my other sweet older one who is an introvert and sleeps all the time. The story is the "happily ever after" kind. I just can't say enough good about the people who made this all come together! So much was done before I got there to have everything ready to just add a new pet owner. I highly recommend Streetcats.

This was my first time at the new facility. The gift shop is great, full of things I need and…read morethings I don't need but really want (cat figurines!) The cat areas are very nice and you can tell they're well taken care of while they wait for their forever home. The staff are great too - it's obvious they really care. Come see the kitties and support this wonderful organization!

Please adopt here. We adopted a dog off the euthanasia list here. They constantly need more space,…read morewhich is why they euthanize. Everything they told me about him was very accurate. Staff was very friendly, kind, and helpful to me. They will let you back by yourself to look at dogs if you're wanting to, and will quickly guide you if you want to look at a specific dog. The dog we adopted is healthy, taken care of, and has no behavior issues. Shelters can be a lot for dogs and he has mellowed out a lot since he's gotten home. Please don't let the shelter personality sway you away from adopting. The shelter is very overwhelming for these dogs. TAS neutered the dog we adopted, gave him all of his shots, gave him heartworm medication and gave us the next months worth, gave him flea/tick medication, and sent us home with antibiotics just in case he started showing symptoms of kennel cough (he never did). All for FREE! Even adoption fee was WAIVED! I paid nothing! Facilities are just okay. Hoping the new building will be better. If you are wanting to look at a dog, they have the option to take them outside and put them in a concrete run for you to meet them. Please save a life and adopt here. I have nothing bad to say.

TAW is an open admission shelter which means they can't pick and choose who to intake. Due to being…read moreon "managed intake", they do require appointments tho. The staff does care for the animals in their care, and make the best out of very limited resources. Looking forward to the new shelter facility!! Want to save lives? Adopt from TAW. And spay and neuter your pets!
