We were initially very excited, as the interior is beautiful, cozy, modern, and has such a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the experience. It started with something simple: drinks. We were offered water, so we also asked for hot water and coffee in addition to iced water, but the busboy responded with, "I only do water," which was fine. However, the two water cups he brought were visibly dirty with stains both inside and out. We wanted to ask for replacements, but couldn't find him again for nearly 15 minutes. When our server came to take our order, we mentioned the cups, and she said she would ask the busboy to come over. About 15 minutes later, she returned with appetizers, but still no busboy. We asked again if someone could replace the cups, and she finally waved the busboy down. Even though he was already standing right beside our table, instead of addressing the issue directly, she pointed at us and told him to "ask them." When we explained the stains, the busboy initially argued and said, "I don't see it," and we had to point them out before he reluctantly agreed to replace the cups. Ironically, one of the replacement cups still had brown bits floating inside, but at that point we just gave up. During the meal, we also tried to order a cup of coffee. The server simply said, "hold on," and never came back. Throughout the entire lunch, she never once checked on our table, despite checking on nearby tables multiple times and repeatedly walking past ours. What stood out even more was overhearing another table next to us complain that they had been seated for 30 minutes and were still waiting to order. Instead of apologizing or showing any empathy, the server smiled and responded with, "good." By the end of the meal, we had to ask another staff member just to get our check. Only then did the server finally reappear and casually ask if we needed anything else. The food itself was average at best and nowhere near memorable enough to make up for the experience. Between the poor service, lack of attentiveness, and cleanliness concerns, this was deeply disappointing, especially for a place with such a strong reputation. Sadly, I don't think I would return or recommend it to others.

We even told staff we were ready to order, but when our server came near our area, he went straight to a larger party seated after us and began taking their drink orders instead. He then walked right past us without saying anything. At that point, we left. I wanted to try the food because it genuinely looked good, but the service experience was frustrating and unacceptable, especially after being the first customers seated. Two stars because the food may be good, but the service made it impossible to stay.

I honestly didn't miss not having meat in my sandwich, the texture and flavors of the mushroom really gave off a similar feel. My favorite was the red lentil soup. It was very tasty, plenty of different layers of flavors and textures with each scoop. I didn't think I would like raisins in a red lentil soup but it was a very yummy surprise! We'll definitely be back to try the hamburger, their soup of the day and the housemade chips!!

We placed everything clearly, but when the food came out, it wasn't what we had ordered. Instead of just clarifying or correcting it, we were told the order had been placed incorrectly on our side and were asked to reorder. Unfortunately, we were also still charged for the original order, which made the situation feel even more confusing. We also ordered the clam chowder, which was honestly disappointing. From the very first spoonful to the last, there was a consistent gritty, sandy texture that made it difficult to enjoy at all. It took away from what is usually a comfort dish, especially in a coastal town where you expect it to shine. On a positive note, our timing coincided with sunset, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning. Watching the sun dip over the water while dining added a really beautiful moment to the experience, and the scenery itself was honestly the highlight of the visit. The setting itself is nice and the location is convenient if you're exploring Half Moon Bay, but based on our experience, the execution on both service and food quality didn't match the expectations set by the rating. That could all be easily simplified and adjusted. And with that said, I'm not surprised that our pizza arrived wrong -- half was only cheese. I partly blame Uber Eats. But the pizza was really good with a thin crust, loaded with toppings. The 3 cheese-sticks were huge and would have been great heated up (marinara too) as per my partner.. I didn't try any this time around. I really enjoyed their caesar salad + appreciated their portions for dressings/appetizer sauces and the menu variety. Will look into calling for delivery next time!

Fatty juicy tender, and the pork comes on a bed of saucy fries for extra heft. I like to get it with extra salad instead of rice. Super good. I really need to come by on a weekend to try the anticuchos!
