I was hosting a luncheon after my father's funeral, and he always loved going to Strathmore. I went online to view the catering menu and determined my budget based on the prices. When I called to place the order, I was told that the prices had gone up, yet they hadn't changed their website. I asked to have someone call me regarding this issue before paying for the order. Paula called and claimed that her costs had gone up, which I respect, but change the website for those that are not local. In the end, we were able to come to an agreement, and I placed the order. The platters were beautiful, and the meats were delicious. I had asked for specific types of bagels, and they threw in all kinds, which some went to waste. Oddly, the salads tasted like they used miracle whip or added some sweetener to them. The coleslaw was somewhat dry, and the potato salad was odd. It had carrots in it and again tasted too sweet. Several of my guests commented about that. I don't know that I would order from them again, as I looked today (3 weeks later) and their catering prices still reflect the old pricing. We've been to Strathmore several times whether it is to dine in, pick up pastries for special occasions or to grab bagels for a quick bite. Initially we were going to dine in but we got a late start so it was busy soup decided to grab bagels. Ok I know we are in south Florida so it's hard to find bagels like ny and nj but these bagels were super thin and literally fell apart when I tried to toast them. This place has been a fixture in Lake Worth for quite some time now. It is located in the Walmart Neighborhood Market plaza at Lake Worth Road and 441, near the middle of the strip of shops. They tend to be busy at all times and turnover of tables is fairly quick. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was pleasant and delivered our orders as we had requested with no issues. I have ordered the Lox Egg and Onion Omlette with Home fries before, and I did the same this visit. When I say it was huge I mean from side to side of the 10" plate and at least 3" high with generous salmon bits and Home fries. I got three meals out of this! I was greeted and seated immediately by the hostess. She was very friendly, which is always refreshing. I ordered a simple breakfast of eggs, home fries, and a toasted scooped onion bagel. I was able to upgrade to veggie cream cheese for a small upcharge. The bagel and veggie cream cheese was very good. They gave me a tremendous amount of it, too. I would have gladly brought it home, but unfortunately, I wasn't going home for several hours, so I had to leave it behind. My eggs were perfectly cooked, and the potatoes were a little bit greasy, but still good. What wasn't good was finding a hair mixed in with the potatoes and biting into a tiny piece of egg shell. The breakfast came with a mini muffin, which I didn't try, although it did look good. I didn't mention anything to my server because I had an appointment I needed to get to, and I didn't have time to send it back. I am confident that if I mentioned my little issues, they would have gladly made me a new breakfast. It was my choice not to say anything. My server was pleasant and efficient. One thing that did bother me more than anything is that my silverware was dirty. The fork actually had food stuck to it. I showed it to the server, and she quickly brought me out a replacement. It wasn't my servers fault as the silverware was rolled up in a napkin. Three stars because I was given dirty silverware, bit into an egg shell, and found a hair in my potatoes. I went in for lunch yesterday after lots of drive bys wondering what the place is all about. It's located in the Walmart plaza off of Lake Worth and 441 and it was somewhat busy while I was there. I ordered from the counter and there is a restaurant on the other side if you want to eat in. I got the overstuffed turkey sandwich with a banana nut muffin. I thought $16 was a little high for the cost of the sandwich. It was hard not to compare that it would have been a lot more food elsewhere for the same price. However, the sandwich and muffin was good, so no complaints about that. I would go back and try different items. Maybe a bagel next time since it is a bagel shop...lol. The quick service was nice and the place is clean. There was customers coming and going the entire time I was there and it hit the spot for a sandwich fix. read more

Fresh, toasted crunch on the outside with fluffiness on the inside and I topped it with the freshly whipped butter it came with. Divine. :) My mushroom and cheddar omelet arrived and I was shocked by its sheer size! With the bialy and potato pancake, as you can see, I barely touched the omelet even though it was delicious. The potato pancake was premade (as you'd expect) and reheated, but I enjoyed it very much. My father had scrambled eggs and grits with a side of sausage. The adorable waitress advised him that the links were better than the patties and they were of nice quality and taste. This was a very nice experience. I think I'm over this place. Food is average. Service if you eat in is mediocre at best. And I almost wrote this review once before but refrained saying it was a bad day. But apparently it's a thing there. A month ago I tried to phone an order in ahead as I couldn't leave the car unattended for more than a couple minutes and they said no. Ok fine. A bad day? My family and I just had brunch at this location and I must say that I am not completely satisfied for multiple reasons: The meal I selected was the "not so hungry" which provided a choice with one pancake, eggs, bacon, toast and muffin. 1-The eggs were too watery, the muffin was completely dry, and pancakes were not bad but left to desired. My wife got the spinach quiche with muffin, they were also not satisfying due to the high dryness level. 2-I am from New York so I am used to a certain level of attitude but our waitress' attitude was not helping the customer service experience at all. The level of the ambience is loud! I can imagine because it's Father's Day weekend, everyone is out to eat so on a normal day, I do not know how it is. I ordered the creamed herring salad I love it. However this was inedible. The sauce was runny. And unseasoned except for little pickle juice maybe and sugar no dill. The herring arrived on top of the sauce. Disgusting look. The sauce was so thin I asked for more and still there wasn't enough sauce to cover all the onions. I would say 50% of the volume was onions 30% sauce and 20% fish--four too-large. My experience even with jarred creamed herring, is is thick it's zesty and the fish is incorporated into the sauce so the sauce that has blended its flavors. We were up in Wellington the other morning and wanted breakfast so we stopped at Strathmore bagels. Located right on 441 in the Marketplace at Wycliffe, there's plenty of free parking in the lot. Enter through the front door and to the left is a full deli counter and bakery. They were swamped the morning I was there and I even picked up some bagels-to-go before I left. On the right is a sit- down restaurant with full table service. The entire place is sparkling clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We were seated and immediately brought a hot fresh pot of coffee for the table. Coffee was brewed perfectly. Don't let the prices fool you. At first glance, omelets and egg dishes look pricey... but the portions are HUGE and worth every penny! Bacon Omelette comes with your choice of cheese , home fries or oatmeal, and a toasted bagel with butter or cream cheese. The omelette is big enough for a family of 4! My son who can eat me out of house & home could only finish a quarter of it. Home fries were crisp and there were plenty! Toasted bagel with Lox Spread was a deal at $5.50! A very large scoop of cream cheese loaded with big pieces of smoked salmon. The whole wheat everything bagel gives my favorite places in NY a run for their money. This place is a disaster. So poorly run that it always is in meltdown mode when I try to buy bagels. Customers screaming at staff, who obviously have no service training. They need to fire everyone and start over. Maybe hire a real manager. read more

(12/25/2023) We received a pint each of the chopped liver with gribenes and the whitefish salad. I'm a a super big fan of both, schmeared on crackers, on a bagel, on a matzoh, you get the picture. The whitefish salad was very thick with flaked fish, chunky with chopped onion and celery, looked great, only thing was a weird hint of sweetness that just wasn't doing it for me. I was missing the oily fishiness and salt. Same for the chopped liver, love the big chunks of egg, caramelized onions, and fried chicken skin bits, but also a slight hint of sweetness that detracted for me. Likely, we'll get whole chubs and make our own salad from here out, but glad to know these delicacies are available. read more

First off this place was so cute and welcoming! I loved the fun classic New York style decor and everything looked delicious in the deli! The menu seemed a little over priced, but they did have a lot of options! Be prepared to pay $9.95 for just a kids meal alone! Thankfully when we got our food it was SO good! Everything was fresh and delicious! Most delicious lox and bagels I've had in this area for sure! Only downfall is the service. We waited over 30 minutes for a table on a Saturday at 11:30, which wasn't too bad considering the area. Our server Nida greeted us once we were sat and only gave us two sets of silverware (even though there was 4 of us). We had to ask for more twice. I was told there was a complimentary pickle basket that every table gets by a customer waiting, and saw all the guests who were seated with them. However, she never brought us ours. Then we had to wait for 15 minutes for her to run our card after she dropped the check (maybe this is why their wait is so long?). Our 3rd time here was a disaster. We had to wait way too long for our meals to be served. We noticed other tables were served before us. We didn't order anything unusual or difficult to prepare. The waitress gave other tables additional napkins and proper service. She came back after we were served and gave us a few very unusual stares-something like gaslighting. The cleaning of our table was also a disaster. My portion of food was very skimpy and I noticed other dishes were much larger. The prices were very high and the wait staff is terrible. We will NEVER go back and we dine out frequently. The entire place needs a major makeover. Go somewhere else if you want bagels/deli and a nice dining experience, there are many good places. Classic Appetizings and Bagel place in the middle of Lake Worth. Both a very active takeaway counter and restaurant are available -- expect a line up of eager customers waiting on both sides on the weekend. Their bagels and appetizings -- like flavored cream cheeses, cured & smoked fish like sable, sturgeon, lox and whitefish -- are all quite tasty.
