Taking the train from Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen, this is the first waterfall you'll see. You'll see 2 smaller ones within a quarter to half mile hike. You'll see flowers and lots of cows. The best angle is actually when you first see the waterfall. Not when you get closer or take a picture in front of it. It looks bigger from the side. There's a climb using stairs that would lead you to get closer to the waterfall. It's crowded and a lot of slow climbers. Be sure to eat before or after you start venturing to the other waterfalls. There are plenty of options between Staubbach Falls and the train station.

On the same land as the campsite, is a seasonal adventure activities centre. This offers river rapid days-outs, sky diving, and other extreme sports and adventure activities for all levels of experience! We didn't count them or see them all, but we did see a sign leading the way to 67 falls. It's the perfect place to be for any traveler. Many were taking advantage of the beautiful weather at the Jungfrau Camping site that we passed through to get to the Weiss Lütschine River. This is where you can get an amazing view of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and village with Staubach falls in the background. There's many things to see along the trail on the river. The village is a great starting point for hiking trails, skiing, and chasing waterfalls. There's a BOB and WAB train station as well as a cableway connecting you to the BLM train station to Mirren. There are so many mountains & attractions that you can see just by taking these train routes from Lauterbrunnen. It's easy to see why this village is a popular destination. There are accommodations for just about every type of traveler. We could have easily spent a whole day here. Many people say that it's like being in a fairytale. It really is! It even inspired a young hiker named J.R.R. Tolkien to write a book about hobbits. The beauty of nature is magical. Don't pass it up when taking that journey through Bernese Oberland.

Such a great way to see Gimmelwald, Murren and the summit of the Schilthorn. When you arrive, you…read morehave the option to going to any or all of the stops. This was by far the easiest way of getting to Gimmelwald or Murren without hiking and it is the only way to the summit of the Schilthorn. The cable car takes about 6 minutes to get to Gimmelwald and about 12 to Murren. The summit is a 30 minute ride. You will need to stop at each stop and transfer to another cable car to go up higher. Buying tickets was easy and the associates speak multiple languages. We took the cable car to Murren and it was €22 round trip. We were also able to get off in Gimmelwald for a peek around the village. The staff are very friendly and each station has restrooms and are clean. The cars are a less than 20 minute drive from Interlaken on a beautiful mountain road. Try out this cable car and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp Review 2026 #122:…read more A fun thing to do and an amazing place to visit. I got with a discount for being a Swiss Travel Pass holder. The bus stop is right in front of this place so it's super easy to get to. I got here a few minutes after they opened. So, there were quite a few people without being crowded. Except some of the people who were there were obnoxiously loud and it echoes through the cave. There are signs posted to be quiet but some people choose to ignore signs. There are parts that are a bit slick, some parts you have to bend a little bit as the ceiling is low, there are steps and stairs, it's chilly since it's a cave. Si, be sure to bring a jacket and wear the right shoes. Be mindful of those with mobility issues, they might have to wait for you at the restaurant (it's still a steep trek though) while you tour the cave. A lot of people would take breaks on the way to the entrance. Bring water. Each part of the cave is numbered so just follow the numbers - however the arrows can be confusing. I got to number 18 and didn't know where to go I ended going back to where I came from so I walked back to 18, walked the opposite direction and made it to 19-22 before exiting. "According to a legend, St. Beatus lived here in the 2nd century, who was believed to be one of the Irish messengers of the faith. After his arrival, Beatus is said to have driven away the dragon dwelling in the cave and then settled there to preach the teachings of Christianity and heal the sick." You'll see St. Beatus' cell, stalactites, stalagmites, and grottoes. You can have a nice view of Lake Thun from here.

The views from the top and outside are truly magical, overlooking a massive lake that makes the entire visit feel surreal. QUICK heads-up... there is quite a bit of walking and many steps, and some areas can be slippery, so it may not be ideal for anyone with limited mobility. That said, if you're able to do the walk, it's 100% worth it. A truly beautiful and memorable experience.

I went here early in the morning before actual opening hours so I was only able to visit outside of the castle. Which is fine because there's not a lot to see inside anyway outside of tapestry, armaments, etc. and I was able to avoid the crowd. But if you are interested to see all the medieval stuff, the museum has 5 floors and is free for Swiss Travel Pass holders. You can see nice views of Thun, Lake Thun and the Alps.

In fact it was probably one of the worst spaghettis I've had. I would only get it if I was absolutely starving from a long hike which I was. The waiter in the end asked for an additional tip while his service was poor and service fees are already included in the cost of the meals. Overall, I had a poor experience here and had terrible food. I do not recommend coming here.

There is interesting information on the film, the actors, actresses and the Olympic winning stuntmen that did the skiing. There is information on how the movie being shot here changed the area which was interesting. There were non-interactive and interactive exhibitions. The most fun being the helicopter simulator tour, the put yourself in the movie silly photos and the film your own bobsled he race - we did the fight scene and the film is very silly! I was dubious but it was good fun and useful to have something to do when waiting for the cloud to clear or for the coach load of tourists to move on
