It's hard to pick my favorite decor item because there are so many, but it's somewhere between the chairs shaped like hands and the giant silver octopus tentacle under the T.V. Ooo and the corner with all the clowns! Drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are friendly. There's a patio, but it's a bit small. There are plenty of comfy chairs/couches. They have live music pretty often, so if that's your thing, you'll be happy there on weekend nights. The only thing is the space is kind of small for live music, so it can get really loud. This is an excellent chill option if you're in Hallowell and want to skip bars that tend to get a bit fratty like The Quarry Taproom. Highly recommend!

Cadenza itself is a comfortable performance space with tables scattered around what may be a dance floor (?) with a well-lit and audio-connected stage for the performers. You can order drinks and small snacks, like chips, at the bar, and you can also order pizza from a local spot that will deliver to Cadenza, but the night we were there, they were backed up, and they were not able to deliver food for an hour and a half! You will find Italian, French, Brazilian, African tajine and of course a burger . We started with the house dip which is amazing red pepper served with beautifully roasted pita bread. The portions are huge so we decided to share the schnitzel. As expected, a huge serving. Perfectly cooked so the chicken was not dry but tender and the breading was crispy and crunchy. It had a honey mustard drizzle which I don't normally love but it worked here. We swapped the beer braced cabbage it comes with for the truffle fries which were incredible and so many even shared we could not finish them. Obviously hand cut and fried here. The flourless cake served with raspberries and cream was excellent also. Truly fine dining experience with a very well thought out and executed menu
